Wetherby's is a one-woman business... a hobby turned obsession in which I design and construct collars in the luxury of my living room. I created Wetherby's as a way to channel my two passions in life, greyhound rescue and vintage design. I adopted my first retired racing greyhound, Henry, in the spring of 2010. Truman the Terror Puppy came into my life a year and a half later. When they are not d
ragging five pound bags of flour all over the house or taking my valuables out the dog door, my dogs are the center of my world. They offer a sense of fulfillment, adventure, joy, and love that no other experience can offer. For the longest time, Henry and Truman wore plain, black martingales because I struggled to find the "right" collars. I was looking for something unique and classic, something that could blend their personalities and mine. I reached a turning point the day I stepped into The Loom, a specialty fabric shop in Pittsburgh's trendy Strip District. Seeing the countless possibilities of color, texture, print, and pattern, the idea for Wetherby's was born. I gain inspiration from everything. Many of my collars are named after obscure references in film, books, TV, and pop culture. Some of them are named after places I’ve been or dogs I’ve met. Chances are that if I like it, I’ll try to put it on a collar. For me, the hardest part of collar-making is not the legwork or the sewing. It’s trying to deliver the best possible finished product while trying to balance the hundreds of other ideas I'm constantly coming up with. I sincerely hope you enjoy your shopping experience with Wetherby Martingale Co. Your dog deserves the best!
