Now that the smoke and heat have mostly become the past, I am starting photo/video updates on all the youngsters.
These aren’t super, but she does make me smile.
This is 2 yr old SpiritWind Maaraca.
Sired by Maarakesh and out of my now 24 yr ol “Gus” mare: GulastraSpirit SDA.
C**a is so much like Gus, and completely has her overly expressive Mare faces. Usually no confusion about what she’s thinking or feeling!!! Makes me laugh out loud. She has been healing from a nasty boo-boo, and doing some basic training tasks in the meanwhile. She is a nice mover, too. Video of that later!

Morning Ponderings from SpiritWind Ranch:

Let’s face it.
Life is hard.
Or maybe we make it that way.

We allow the clutter of our everyday lives to dictate our…well, our entire well-being.

We set the standard of “expectations” for ourselves, our day, maybe even for others - a noble intention, but how effective is that??

Hmm, in a few words: stressful, frustrating, discouraging, defeating? Conflictual? Overwhelming?

Maybe we need to treat our daily experiences as we do a training session in the Round Pen!!?!!

No agenda, no expectations. Be aware, be sensitive, listen, respond, move forward with respect and kindness, ask, teach, refine/repeat as needed, praise the effort, and quit at a positive moment with enthusiasm to continue on in a good place to build upon on the next day.

I walk out my door with an open mindedness of what joy will today bring? How blessed am I to live THIS life?!

It is futile to dwell on the bazillion things on the To-do List. That’s ruminating and not looking forward and living in gratitude. Why ruin a pretty blue sky?!

Take a deep breath. Take in Life. Appreciate. Smile. Enjoy. Allow yourself to be imperfect. Ha. It’s not only “ok”, it’s inevitable!!

2022 Asil (Babson/Doyle-Brown) chestnut filly.

Poor “Cacca”…she had a nasty boo-boo that has required separation from her buddies while she healed. Fortunately nothing “important” was damaged! But she is tired of it and ready to transition back into the big group. Soon, still some healing needed, but now she can mingle over the fence before merging.

Hampshires Joyce and SandaFaaBani SDA, 21 & 28. Hanging out on a breezy hot day. Gee, what do think they are thinking!?! Ha Joyce is mostly Doyle breeding with a couple drops of Babson. She has regular visits to viable stallions for now and will eventually move in with one of them if I can’t catch her in heat. Sure hate to break up their buddy zone. 😅 SFB is fairly even mix of both. He’s no longer breeding mares.
