Helping Animals In Need This page is devoted to helping animals in need of medical care or adoption.

We don't provide financial help directly but a means to network and reach out to others. I created this community in memory of my beloved cat Charlie, who passed away on Oct. 18th, 2012. Many people donated towards his expensive vet costs, not to mention providing me with enormous emotional support during that time. This page is my way of keeping his memory alive, while also 'paying it forward' and doing something positive for all the other animals in need.

Just months into his well-earned retirement, Jack faced a life-threatening crisis. He developed a bowel obstruction, but in circumstances befitting one of the Bard’s tragedies, all the local veterinary hospitals were at capacity and couldn’t help. Dehydrated and showing signs of sepsis, Jack was...

The DEADLY CORN COB!!
Although you might think this is a delicious treat for your four legged buddy, corn cobs could be the cause of you losing your best friend.
Corn cobs are one of the most common yet dangerous foods you can give your pet.
The corn cob does not break down in the acid of your dogs gastrointestinal tract, instead they swell up and block the entire path, resulting in complete mayhem within your dog's intestinal system.
Once in and blocked up there is only one way out, an emergency exploratory laparotomy done by your veterinarian. This Is a high risk procedure as the corn cob can cause severe internal damage.

You might think to yourself "its fine, i'll just cut it up into smaller pieces" NO!!!!!!!!!!. Regardless if the corn is large or small, it will still swell internally and still block your pets intestinal system. So let's protect our loved ones and put that corn cob in the bin, make sure during your festive braai none of your friends or family sneak a corn cob treat to your pet, it could mean
life or death to your beloved buddy.

Many orphans can be left a few hours to see if mom comes back...NOT OPOSSUMS! If you see a baby like this one in a yard or anywhere, get it quickly in a little box or pet carrier with a blanket and keep warm and call a wild life rescue. Momma opossum can have up to 13 babies. As they grow, they don't all fit in the pouch so they ride on her back. If something startles her and she runs, one can fall off. Momma doesn't know she lost one so please never ever leave one thinking mom will come back...

UPDATE - After 3 months and a lot of hard work Blanche is BACK HOME SAFE!

Hello my name is Don. I would like to share our story on how we found Blanche after being taken 3 months ago from Toronto.
I posted a Missing Pug poster on Kingston Lost and Found Pets on March 4th 2020. My wife and I received several calls from the same apartment building in Kingston. Little did we know finding her was the easy part and retrieving her was the real challenge. The couple who had her made several ridiculous stories and denied when approached that this was the same dog. Her name is Blanche. I went to the Police several times only to be denied help, told I was obsessed and it is only a dog. Also informed if there was a complaint I would be the one charged with harassment.
Regardless I did not listen and hired a Private Investigator and we attempted to build a case. Still the Kingston City Police would not get involved even though we had photos of Blanche.
Several sleepless nights went by and I had to do something…. I contacted the City of Kingston By-law office to see if they could do anything. They did point me in the right direction to the Attorney Generals Office. We worked with an amazing inspector, gathered all documents and medical records to prove ownership.
By the way Blanche is microchipped and reported stolen to 24 hr Pet watch as well as 38 Veterinarians in Kingston and Toronto. The Attorney General’s office contacted City of Kingston Police and on Saturday the 4th of April I was contacted by Kingston Police that I could pick Blanche up. She had been shipped off to a family member in Stoney Creek.
To clarify Blanche was stolen/ taken from City Place, Toronto sent to 1000 Old Mill Road Kingston, and then shipped off again to Stoney Creek (Hamilton). (Every person she was sent to was a member of the same family) When we went and picked her the man basically kicked Blanche in the back side out the door and slammed the door in our face. We immediately went to our Veterinarian who has a location in Stoney Creek. Regardless of Covid-19 the Vet took us in immediately and scanned Blanche and checked her out.
100% confirmation from the microchip scan it was her. (We already knew). This was a promise I needed to fulfill for Police and the Attorney General’s office.
I have to thank Kingston Community Lost and Found Pets for their advice, guidance and follow ups. The many pet owners and their support, the resident(s) from the building who came forward and told us about Blanche. You are amazing people!
The Inspector at the Attorney General’s Office that orchestrated this to bring it to a conclusion, and even though I am very disappointed with the Kingston City Police there is one Officer that deserves recognition for helping us get Blanche back.
We are very fortunate everything worked out in the end, anything is possible if you never give up!

Pet overpopulation is an issue in Ontario. Each year, thousands of dogs and cats end up on the streets, where they fall victim to neglect and abuse, or in shelters in search of new homes.

YOU can get involved by spaying/neutering your pet, or Spaying It Forward if your pet is already fixed, and get a Fix Your Pet keychain*! Register or donate today: http://spayneuter.ontariospca.ca/

When we got Noodle, we found him and 3 of his sisters on my birthday. They were outside at two weeks old all alone. I spent all my time outside of work caring for these tiny kittens. We kept Noodle and one of his sisters, Marlyn and found loving homes for the other two. It was a lot of work but a...
