Kristi-Louise here,

My passion is to be able to help horses feel their best. Whether the horse is a eventer, western performance horse, pony clubber or your trail riding horse all horses need and deserve to feel their best to perform at their peak. Through massage we can help release muscle tension and soreness which allows the horse to move with less restriction. We can achieve:
-Comfort
-Supp

leness
-Greater flexibility
-Greater length of stride
-Possible reduction in behavioral issues
-Increased performance
Etc

I make house calls and, can also come and treat your horse at shows/competition to help them perform their best

AND! Now able to have horses at my facility at Denison for treatments at a reduced rate! Please message or call with any questions or to book a appointment. Thank you for stopping by, hope to see you soon.

I slightly fan girl over this lovely lass.

She’s highly educated, willing to look outside of the box, always trying new methods and she wasn’t afraid to advise for or against what the masses are promoting without evidence of positive impacts.

She’s also very much like myself, we like simple way to encourage huge positive changes in your horses: See below - Walking is something that everyone can’t wait to get out of, but you’re missing a huge opportunity.

• Walking on the Ground •
“Build their strength, don’t make them strong” 🌟

I would say I spend 80-100% of my groundwork session in walk. For me, it’s not a place for burning calories or getting out energy, but a time in the day where we can mobilise and relax to build confidence.

Those who have had a groundwork session with me will know the process I take, starting with creating an energy bond between you and your horse - can they match your walk steps? Progressing onto adding in some lateral mobilisations (crucially not movements at this stage) to establish balance… before increasing the distance from your horse into more of a half lunging position - again for confidence!

Off the back of my training aid post yesterday, everybody really wants a similar thing - for their horse to be strong. But strength is built, not made or forced. A horse in a forward walk doesn’t mean their strong, a horse in an outline doesn’t mean their working correctly.

Meji has taught me so much. I had so many questions before I bought him on how, what, when etc we could achieve softness and correctness in movement. I thought there surely had to be another way other than side reins and lunging. I am forever grateful for him being the best trainer I have ever met.

I would love to say I have it nailed, but with horses I have resounded to the fact I will never be an expert. I have a damn good idea, but horses will always find a way to humble me.

Anyway, I digress — basically, walk your horse. Guide them through, build their strength and done make them strong.

I pride myself on being able to effectively treat horses and come up with plans to enhance their wellbeing going forward… but it baffles me that the same brain can do the impressively stupid things that it does on a regular basis 😂

Longtime clients will know exactly what I’m talking about, ha!

😂

As a lot of my clients would know, massaging horses wet is slightly undesirable however this genius client had a solution 😂😂

I’ve been trying this whole ‘relax’ .. ‘downtime’ thing (although failing 99% of the time).

I’ve really been enjoying some nights fishing with my wife and little loyal dog 🥹🥰

Although non-horsie.. still repping the branded hoodie as massage is life 😆

In the image, there are the shoulders of three horses.

Look at pictures 1. and 3. and try to imagine those with a skin on.

There would be similar bumps and groves over the triceps brachii (which should not be there - compare it with the middle picture).

What are they?
Tight fascia or overdeveloped muscle or muscle with an anatomical variation or all or any combination of those three?

Remember, all this would be hidden under the skin, and it would be hard to get the right answer if we tried to judge the horse from one photograph posted on FB :-)

I’ve been a bit quiet over the last week and a bit as I’ve been away on an overseas holiday!

It has been very odd being away from horses but my hands are thankful.

However, while I was shopping I did come across this 😳 well…. This is awkward

*** EQUINE GUT HEALTH ***
I’ve found a cost effective aid that WORKS and doubles as a toxin binder!

A few months ago my lovely, calm, loving mare turned into a sour dragon - Yup, the dreaded word was headed my way —— Ulcers 🤮

I’ll right a more in depth post about that later however I’ll skip a little ahead and let you all know what helped us!

OptiGut! A unique probiotic formula containing natural microbials, humic and fulvic acids, and activated zeolite.

This combo aids in:
- Stabilisation of intestinal flora
- Feed efficiency: Ability to feed less while maintaining health, weight and performance.
- Overall health
- Nutrition absorption: Can lead to increase of immunity
- Supports better performance when traveling and during times of stress.
- Promotes pH stability
- Supports healthier digestion
- Toxin binder

What they can’t claim but I and other horse owners have seen is that this product has helped with their horses ulcers!
From my own experience it turned my very painful/reactive ulcer mare back to her normal lovely self without the use of the current go to medications (good luck medicating my lovely lass in her painful stage).

I also have my 2 lovely older horses (20’s) on it and I’m obsessed at the results I’ve seen in ALL of them in a matter of 3-4 weeks!

I’ve fallen in love with it so much that I now STOCK this product and have some on hand if you’re interested in trying the product !

For more info or if you’d like to purchase , please fee to inbox me.

Photos below are of our lovely 20’s mare, she is normally quite hard to keep weight on.
4 weeks between pics and we’ve also been able to halve her hard feed intake.
Also a photo of our lovely older fella (20’s) who we are going to need sun glasses to look at him soon 😎

** Supporting our arthritic horses **

One of the major issues I come across especially in the older or more ‘long term active’ horses is arthritis.
We love the golden oldies and they deserve every bit of a helping hand we can give them.

I get asked frequently what I’d suggest to use, my experiences etc.

There are a lot of products on the market but from my experience 4Cyte Epiitalis is the superior non-injectable! (Studies have shown it to actually be as good, if not better than injectables!)

It comes in a pellet or gel however I believe the gel to be better as picky horses could decided not to eat the pellet.

From my own experience, I’ve seen amazing results begin to show in under a week and the long term benefits to be a happier, more sound horse who can enjoy life for longer.

I’m not a ‘supplement person’, I’m very much a ‘keeping it simple’ type of horse mum however this is one product I will swear by until my last day and it’s SO easy to administer.

If you’d like some more info on the product or how to support your golden oldie feel free to shoot me a message 🥹🐴

*** The Land of The Dirty Rugs ***

What is everyone washing their heavily soiled rugs in?

I’m yet to find a ‘off the shelf’ washing power/liquid that removes the grossness that horses put on their rugs 😳

How are you all bringing your rugs back to a respectable state? Ha!!

Massage therapist hands are never quite ‘pretty’ - mental note - must wash hands before going into town !!
