Please meet Otis, sadly he lost his human who passed away. Otis was surrendered to one of the vet clinics we work with, he has been there for over 2 weeks now. The rescue situation is dire out there, post pandemic has created such a surplus of dogs and cats that it is near impossible to find homes for adult dogs :(
Otis human went into hospital in June so a family friend was looking after Otis. Unfortunately his human never returned and passed away in October, the friend could no longer keep Otis which has landed him at the clinic.
Otis is a 5yr old N/M, healthy but a bit overweight.....he currently weighs 84 lbs and needs to get to 75. He is believed to be a herding dog mix....maybe Border Coolie/LGD (best guess)
Otis was assessed by a trainer and is very adoptable, this is what he needs:
adult only home (he is a big boy and has never lived with kids)
a yard
with or without another dog
experience with large breeds
experienced with positive reinforcement treat based training
Otis loves car rides, playing ball, snuggling on the couch and treats there are no resource guarding issues and no separation anxiety
Otis is low to medium energy and would only need about an hour of walking daily to be a happy boy

They say that Old English Sheepdogs have Peter Pan Syndrome…..they never grow up and Irie is living proof, she is 11 going on 2….. loves her squeaky toys and balls …. She will chase them but there is no chance that you are getting it back 😂
Irie was adopted from us several years ago and is still loving life 🙏❤️

Crypto needs a home

Do you remember Crypto? The pup who needed surgery so he didn’t become paraplegic? We all helped this family raise funds for his surgery back in Feb 2022 ...Crypto is a healthy boy now and runs like the wind
Sadly his family needs to rehome him. They have 3 special needs children and the house is very busy and loud…. Poor Crypto is overwhelmed and anxious due to this environment.
Crypto is a neutered 1.5yr old, medium size mixed breed, he weighs about 48lbs ... he is believed to be a German shepherd crossed with a Heeler, fully house trained …. Crypto would do best in quiet home:
- Without small children
- Experienced guardians
- Fully fenced yard
- Moderately active (daily walks)
- Someone who is home a lot
- With or without another balanced dog
Sweet Crypto has been through a lot in his life and deserves a loving, quiet home and in turn, he will be your most loyal, best friend & love you forever…

Marley is a handsome 20 pound sweetheart. He has great health and is house trained, leash trained, super easy to care for, prefers to be around one human and smaller dogs. He still has a lot of pep in his step and people don't usually believe his age (11). He has been very well cared for and eats a whole food, species appropriate diet..Did someone say carrots ?! He is very well mannered and has a calm temperament as long as his needs are met and no one comes a knockin! Woof ! Sometimes I think he's more cat than dog. Marley takes time to trust humans but once he is with you he will open up and show you his loving silly playful side. Marley also has strong boundaries and knows how to communicate when he is feeling discomfort.. He enjoys long walks, hikes, loves sunbathing, bird watching and playing fetch when the mood strikes. He also enjoys car rides and running errands together.
Unfortunately Marley has been rehomed a couple of times so he is extra sensitive to being left alone and can experience separation anxiety. So limited alone time is ideal. I am moving out of the country, sadly I need to rehome him again. He is the perfect companion for someone who enjoys living life at a slower pace and values quiet spaces and alone time. He loves the great outdoors but is also a cosy homebody. Marley is truly an angel and has brought so much love, joy and peace into my life. I know he will do the same for you with his big heart.

This sweet 19 month old Shepherd X was surrendered to one of the vets we work with because she "barks" ..... pftt well she is a dog after all, training is the answer!! She is spayed and vet approved as healthy. You will get 4 weeks of free pet insurance as well

Sadly their owner passed away and they now dont get the attention they deserve. They have always lived on a farm, in the heated barn.
Both girls are happy and love people, kids included ..... they are fine with other dogs but never been around cats. They do need a house with a yard, going from a farm to a condo just wont work for these 2.
Can you provide a loving home and shower them with attention for their golden years?

Stella is such a good girl, she currently lives with 2 cats and she loves other dogs. Stella has lived with older kids and did well.
Stella is a bit shy when she meets new people but warms up quickly and then she is your BFF
This girl is a non-shedder BUT she does require grooming every 8 weeks or so.... she loves her yard so no condos for this gal
A home where someone is around alot is in her best interest, there is no separation anxiety but her previous family situation changed and they now travel alot so Stella finds herself lacking human companionship and walks.
This girl would love a home with another balanced & playful dog but it is not 100% required.

This smarty pants absolutely requires daily mental and physical stimulation. She currently runs on the treadmill, does agility at home, chases the ball and plays with her fosters family dogs.
Gem has been in foster care for several months, her very savvy foster family along side her trainer have been working with Gem on confidence building and impulse control… Gem can get overstimulated outdoors but she has come so far and is learning to self soothe. Whomever adopts her needs to be willing to continue working with her trainer.
The perfect home for gem would be an adult only family… In a country setting or a quiet neighborhood with a fully fenced yard
She needs a calm, confident, guardian who has experience with the breed and/or working dogs. Gem can live with other dogs once properly introduced… We suspect she would not be great with cats…
This girl is smart as a whip… She is very well trained, crate trained and has no separation anxiety. Gem is easily redirected with food, or her ball.

Charlie came to us in rough shape, ear and eye infection as well as rotten teeth .... he had 10 teeth removed and his ears and eye are clearing up nicely.....we will make sure he is 100% healthy before he goes home.
Charlie would love to be in an adult home, with or without another friendly dog ..... not sure about cats tho :) Charlie would love a fenced yard and a family that is around alot. He has no separation anxiety and as you can see he is a happy fellah

** Wed Feb 23** Update on CRYPTO
He is doing so good, this is him 10 days post op ... he is doing better than he was before surgery and that will only get better with time and physio!! He starts physio next week .... Look at his tail wags :)
This boy has a bright future, thanks to all of your kindness and generosity ..... YOU played a part in this happy beginning!!
CRYPTO has declined in the last day (see video) so Megan is taking him in to Boundary Bay shortly.... we dont want any more damage done to his spinal cord or he may lose all of his function ..... We still have $5000 to raise but we simply cant wait, so we will frantically be trying to fundraise until the goal is met .....
