ACTT Naturally (Aftercare Continued Thoroughbred Training....Naturally) is a program founded to retrain and re-home thoroughbred horses no longer able to race, through Natural Horsemanship. ACTT (aftercare continued thoroughbred traning) Naturally is a program founded to retrain and re-home thoroughbred horses that are no longer able to race through Natural Horsemanship. Our horses find new homes through our thoughtful adoption process.

We had a late night visit from the veterinarian last night to sedate Journey and extract some porcupine quills. Luckily not too many and they were small.

Open Mic Night has settled in so well at the farm. He’s a super cool 😎 laid back boy but also super curious and he’s been checking my pockets 😆

Today he spent the day out in a paddock enjoying the warm fall sunshine.

Then he walked back to the barn in a rope halter, like a gentleman. Mic you will never have a chain across your nose again.

Our friend Shannon has been out to the farm since July. Helping us work with our OTTB’s. Getting them ready for adoption and a new future.
We put a lot of ground work into our horses before we get back in the saddle. Shannon had her first ride today on Insurance Policy (Vino Rosso) aka Beau. So proud of both of them. Well done team!
Thanks to Linda Parelli and the Happy Horse Happy Life curriculum for helping to make the magic happen.

Fall is definitely in the air here. 🍁
As the Oklahoma Track in Saratoga is winding down the fall training, there’s a list of horses retiring and in need of us to step up.
We were lucky enough to get this handsome guy, Open Mic Night from the Danny Gargan Stable.
Many thanks to Richard Schosberg and Andy Belfiore for their tireless work on behalf of these horses, ensuring their safety as they leave their racing careers behind.
On to a bright new future!

After a couple of months of R&R we hauled Beau (Insurance Policy) and Jessie (Gaining Acceptance) over to Long Shadows yesterday and today they started their first day of training. Both of them were super sweet, curious and super learners! So excited to get started with the next round of OTTB’s and looking forward to getting them trained and on to new homes!

Irish Chalice.
5 year old gelding.
Super sweet boy.
Raced once.
Ridden English and Western.
Good on trails.
Good for farrier. Loads well into trailer. Wears front shoes.
No vices.

He loves trail riding and is an easy going guy.

Many thanks to Danele DelSignore and Catherine O’Hara for the work they put into our event today. We made a lot of great contacts in hopes of helping more people through our Hearts in Harmony programs at Long Shadows Charitable Foundation.
As usual the boys were great today!

The boys were ROCKSTARS today in our Hearts in Harmony program. We had a group of female veterans and some amazing moments. Thank you Long Shadows Charitable Foundation for hosting our group today.

Irish Chalice had his first day out in the population post racing career, post castration. He was gently corrected by Charlie (Past The Point) and told to F off by Coconut the pony, little Walter made some friend time for him. It’s so rewarding to let these former race horses get out among other horses, learn to speak their own language, and be a herd member.

Irish Chalice. (Kantharos) This is most likely the first time he’s had turn out since prior to going to train at the race track 2 years ago. We gave him a little sedation to keep him from getting too wild. He willl be gelded next week and eventually make his way into the herd. He’s such a handsome dude.
