Veery and Pipit are bonded brothers looking for their forever home. They love to groom, nap, and play with each other. While the boys are slow to warm up to new people, once you gain their trust, they are sweet and affectionate. They will begin to eagerly seek out attention and pets however, there will still be times when they shy away from being touched and would do well in a home that gives them lots of love, and play time, but also respects their boundaries.

Veery is a curious explorer who loves to play. He is energetic and eager to initiate play. He loves fetching, tossing toys around on his own, and wrestling and chasing his brother. While Pipit's favourite toy is a wand or anything that dangles. Once he catches it, he confidently walks off with it dangling from his mouth. When he’s in a snuggly mood, he’ll flop all over to get the best pets and gently brush his head against you for scratches.

Pipit and Veery are neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped and their adoption fee is $350. Veery requires a speciality diet. He is currently eating Hills Prescription Diet Z/D (food sensitivities) wet and dry food. If you’re interested in adopting them, please fill out our online adoption application: https://www.theaveryfoundation.ca/adoption/adoption-application/ or send us a message with any questions.

It’s hard to believe that these two haven’t caught someone’s eye yet! Furgus, the curious adventurer, and Elora, the playful, snuggle-loving fluffball, make the perfect pair.

Furgus is the explorer of the pair, always up for discovering new places, with his sweet face full of wonder while Elora brings the energy, zooming around and showing off her agility with every playful pounce. When it’s time to rest, they’re both experts in cozy cuddles, and you’ll often find them napping side by side.

These two are more than just foster siblings—they’re a bonded pair, sharing everything from meals and naps to endless adventures. They would be over the moon to continue their journey together in a loving forever home.

Furgus and Elora are neutered/spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped and their adoption fee is $500. If you’re interested in adopting them, please fill out our online adoption application: https://www.theaveryfoundation.ca/adoption/adoption-application/cats/ or send us a message with any questions.

Happy Caturday from adoptables Loon and Pewee! 😸

This dynamic brother and sister duo is full of energy, curiosity, and love. They’re food-driven, and their hearts are easily won over by tasty treats, especially churus! Whether they’re chasing each other, wrestling, or playing with their favorite toys, this pair is always on the move. When they aren’t on the go, you’ll find them cuddled up together or perched on a cat tree, keeping a watchful eye on the birds outside.

Loon and Pewee are slow to warm up to new people and require a patient adopter willing to give them time to adjust to their new family and environment. They are startled by sudden movements and loud noises and are best suited to an adult-only home or a home with older children with previous experience with cats.

Loon and Pewee are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped and their adoption fee is $350. If you’re interested in adopting, please fill out our online adoption application: https://www.theaveryfoundation.ca/adoption/adoption-application/cats/ or send us a message with any questions.

𝗧𝗔𝗙 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲🐱💖

We are overjoyed to share an adoption update about Fig and Clove who found their forever home just in time for the holidays!

These sweet cats were in our care for a while, each facing health challenges that made finding the right home a little more difficult. But thanks to a dedicated and compassionate adopter, they are now settling in beautifully and receiving the love and care they so deserve.

In October, Fig had 13 teeth extracted during dental surgery which was made possible by the generous donations of our supporters. Thanks to you, we were able to give him the chance to eat comfortably and live a healthier life.

We are beyond grateful to everyone who has supported these cats along the way. Your kindness has made their journey to this moment possible, and we couldn't be happier that they're now in a safe, loving home where they can thrive.

Thank you again for your ongoing support - together, we’re making a difference!

As we close out 2024, our hearts are full of gratitude for all the love and support we’ve received from our incredible community. Thanks to your generosity, compassion, and commitment, we’ve been able to give cats in need a second chance this year. Every donation, every volunteer hour, every share, and every kind word has made a world of difference.

This holiday season, we’re reminded that it’s because of YOU — our amazing supporters — that these cats get the happy, healthy lives they deserve. You’ve made this possible, and for that, we are beyond thankful.

We are also so grateful for the families that have opened their hearts and homes to our rescues, giving them a place to call their own, especially during this special time of year.

As we look ahead to 2025, we’re filled with hope and excitement for all that we can accomplish together. Thank you for being part of our rescue family — you are truly a gift to all of us.

Wishing you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays filled with love, joy, and furry friends.

𝗧𝗔𝗙 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 🐱💖

It’s rare for us to have three kittens adopted at once, but when it happens, it’s nothing short of magical. We couldn’t be more grateful to Ebbs, Elgin, and Elliott’s adoptive family for opening their hearts and home to this trio!

Their adoptive family recently reported that the trio is adjusting well and thriving in their new home – where they continue to grow, play, and nap together just as they always have! Their family is having a lot of fun with them and enjoying getting to see each of their individual personalities come out.

Thank you to everyone who supports our rescue efforts whether through fostering, donations, or simply spreading the word. This adoption success is a direct result of the incredible community we have.

***Update: thanks to your generosity we've reached our matching goal of $250 meaning you've helped us raise $500 to put towards our outstanding veterinary balance!

Thank you all for your support!***

Unfortunately, after a week we aren’t any closer to reaching our $250 donation matching goal and Christmas is just around the corner. But there’s still time and we’re hopeful that with your support, we will reach our goal!

Even a small donation can go twice as far right now, thanks to this matching offer. Every dollar you give will be doubled and help us to pay down our veterinary balance and continue to provide for the cats in our care.

If you’ve been thinking about donating, now is the purrfect time. Donations can be made via e-transfer to [email protected] (pw: donate).

This holiday season, your generosity can go even further! Thanks to a generous TAF Adopter, all donations made between now and Christmas will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $250. That means your gift will have double the impact, helping us to provide for the cats in our care.

Don’t miss this opportunity to make twice the difference! Donations can be made via e-transfer to [email protected] (pw: donate).

Our Story

Founded in 2013, The Avery Foundation (TAF) is a non-profit animal rescue managed by a network of coordinators, volunteers, and carefully selected foster families. We are a small group of animal advocates working to change the lives of homeless animals.

Our mission is to help abandoned and vulnerable animals through foster care, rehabilitation, and adoption; to guide potential adopters in finding the best fit for their family; and to promote responsible pet ownership through humane education: specifically of the importance of routine veterinary care, spay/neutering and enrichment - ultimately creating a happy and healthy life for as many animals as possible.

Our volunteers work diligently to raise funds for the animals through events and fundraisers, with every dollar going towards medical bills, food, and supplies.
