GAINESVILLE, GA Humane Society of Northeast Georgia
·
Today, our hearts ache for Darla as she celebrates her seventh birthday in the shelter, dreaming of the loving home she deserves.
Darla is a gentle, affectionate girl who adores people. She walks wonderfully on a leash, making her the perfect companion for strolls through the park or quiet neighborhood walks. Her kennel is always clean, a testament to her sweet and well-mannered nature.
Darla's only request? She wants to be your one and only. She would thrive in a home where she can soak up all the love and attention you have to give. Imagine the joy she could bring to your life, and the warmth she would add to your home.
Please, let's not let Darla spend another birthday in the shelter. Share her story, and help us find the perfect family for this deserving senior dog. She has so much love left to give.

Our oldest pup at Mostly Mutts... Priscilla. This 14-year-old, tiny Chihuahua mix needs her retirement home. Her world was turned upside down when her person started experiencing health issues and could no longer care for her.
She previously lived with other dogs and is a sweet girl. Not super playful, she is loyal to her person and was used to lots of love and attention. She is content to just be near you. A perfect home would be someone who is home a good bit.
DO you have a home for this special girl? Please consider adopting her ❤. Additional information at our website.

My, what big eyes you have, Frodo! This rough coat Parsons JRT had to be surrendered due to his owner no longer being able to care for him. It's heartbreaking story; no doubt. However, he has made a soft landing and is able to stay at a foster home to help decompress.

Frodo had been in a home for 9 years. He would do best in a home without children. He was not used to being around other dogs but is with other dogs in a foster home. Frodo is definitely a fan of leash walking and will race you to the door when he sees you with a leash in hand.

Frodo is now completely up to date and ready for his retirement home where he can just hang with his new person and get spoiled like he should be!

Adoption information for Frodo and all of our available pets is on our website: https://hbpr.org

In honor of Star

Star was an old dog when he was found as a stray and brought to the shelter where I was a volunteer. It was love at first sight for me but I was not in the position at that time to add another dog to my already large pack. So I loved him when I could, and when he was finally adopted, I was so happy. Unfortunately, it was just a short time in his new home before he became incapacitated and fell ill. His new owners were also senior citizens, so when the time came for Star to cross the rainbow bridge, I was there to hold him and to make sure he slipped into the next life pain free and with love. I miss Star every day and dedicate this page to his memory. Together we will try to show others how amazing senior dogs are and how deserving they are of happy new homes, no matter how long they stay. Star light, Star bright!
