Sharifa Nowzad Rescue Nowzad rescued me and this is about my new life in the UK. It will hopefully raise more awareness and I think I am going to like living here in the UK

My name is Nowzad Sharifa and here is my story:

I was born in Mazar-e-Sharif and I lived close to the famous shrine. When I was a puppy some people tied some string to my neck which got really tight as I got bigger. I was also homeless so I developed a severe case of mange as well. A kind person finally noticed my horrendous condition and contacted Nowzad. I was immediately sent to Nowzad where t

hey operated on me to remove the string from my neck and also treated my mange... and of course, they gave me the name Sharif! Under Nowzad's care I have flourished and everyone tells me I am like a lioness. After visiting the Nowzad clinic, one of the Trustees, David fell in love with me and after tragically losing his Nowzad rescue 'Billy' to a neurological condition, him and his wife Ann have generously offered to give me a loving home. They have added an 'a' to the end of my name as my name was quite boyish so I am now known as Sharifa!

4 years ago I arrived in the UK and my life couldn't be better!

Thank you Nowzad for rescuing me from the streets, caring for me and finding me a forever home.

My wish is that the rest of the dogs still in Afghanistan will be as lucky as me but I know they are safe as they are with Nowzad.

Thank you to everyone who donated to enable me to travel and please support Nowzad if you can and also any rescues that have been adopted and need help with their funding.

Celebrating 11 Years of Nowzad recently with the founder Penn Farthing were Dr Peter Egan, Hannah Surowinski, Jill Robinson and Dominic Dyer. Beautiful Joe's and Honey's donation helped to raise lots of money on the night for this wonderful charity. Nowzad rescue, Sharifa, was pictured here with the treats before they went into the hamper.🐕💕🐾🐾
