2 Paps & a Rescue - These 3 pups currently live in Essex, UK, with their mom, dad, Nanny, Grandad, their hamster sisfur Toastie-Rikku, 2 bunny sisfurs Tyri & Yuna, old bichon-frise Auntie Shenzy, old springer spaniel Auntie Maggie, Crete rescue puppy Auntie Calla, 2 bunny Aunties Bailey & Whiskey and some tropical & pond fish! Oscar - the oldest (and smallest) of the Papillon boys. Oscar is polite
with very good manners and believes everyone should follow the rules & behave themselves - he does get a bit annoyed with his crazy, cheeky brofur and sisfur sometimes! He isn't keen on baths but will put up with them, as he loves being brushed and pampered afterwards! At home, Oscar can always be found in close proximity to his mommy or daddy. (Born 28/06/2007)
Olly - the pap pup who won't grow up! Despite being the middle child, Olly insists on being the baby and likes lots of fuss and attention. He regularly falls asleep with toys in his mouth and is a very playful boy and always chattering away whilst he plays. He is a bit of a clown and he's very silly and cheeky. He also really enjoys wearing his "doggy costumes" but is scared of baths and doesn't like travelling in the car. In his eyes Oscar is the boss and he would never try to eat out of Oscar's bowl - or at least not whilst Oscar was looking anyway! (Born 24/11/2011)
Athena - once a stray dog on the streets of Crete, Athena (as we named her, to keep her Greek heritage) was rescued by Gouves Animal Shelter, where her now-parents accidentally stumbled across her whilst on holiday. Despite having no intention of adding to their already big fluffy family, they fell in love with Athy instantly and after visiting the shelter again a few days later to walk her, they decided to adopt her! Her new Daddy also decided that was the perfect moment to propose... & her new Mom said "YES!"
1 month later, Athena had finished her necessary injections and vet-checks and had her very own puppy passport that meant she was able to travel the 5-day journey in a van with Cretan Animal Protection, to get to the UK and finally be reunited with her new parents. Athena instantly took to her big (smaller) brofurs and she became great playpals with Olly. She even managed to ease Oscar's grumpiness and just covers him in kisses if he ever grumbles at her. Athena took to house-living like a duck takes to water and began to learn what toys were and realise that she will always have food and love now. From being very underweight with her bones sticking out, Athena put on over 5kg and her hair is now lovely and soft and shiny. She is a very clever girl but also a bit of a magpie and loves taking things that don't belong to her into the garden! The 3 pups like to enter dog shows and help to raise money for various charities - especially animal charities. Athena even runs her own online show on occasion, to help raise money for Gouves Animal Shelter, that saved not only her life but also helps to save the lives of the many strays on Crete and helps them find their forever homes. We would love to hear stories and see pictures of your pets too, tell us your stories!! For more information on Gouves Animal Shelter, please visit:
