all recent charges Charges against Loretta Shipman were all dropped. she says she is never going back to the shelter ..and we won't be supporting the new regime either ..especially after being told our help is "no longer required" and being blanked and blocked at every turn on their new FB page . AND being told rescued cats were being DUMPED and died. which we know is NOT true and no evidence has been shown by them to prove otherwise ..just conjecture.

another thing..where is all the money suddenly coming from to make all the expensive changes at shelter when Loretta as Director was repeatedly denied further funds? AND why has the salary for Director been increased suddenly? Not what you know it's who you know

The day after the County Commissioners voted to install the local Sherriff as INTERIM shelter Director, his team entered shelter. Led by Lt Justin Worley.

The day after that, there was a phone call with Mr Worley with the admin of this page .. which very quickly got to the point and said..

"We are going to put in place adoption options for the shelter felines and we no longer require your services and thank you for your service"

Take note, that this is from a NEW team with NO experience of running an animal shelter , NO experience of finding rescue and NO experience or understanding of the lack of adoption that presents itself locally for the shelter animals.

The question was asked about ferals and while not clarifying WHAT was going to be put in place, the response was "we will be putting "something in place for feral cats " ..Placement of ferals takes a lot of effort AND a lot of money . Do we think the new team will invest shelter funds in the program that until now has been the ONLY one in any animal shelter in the USA that places EVERY feral intake ?

Since that call shelter staff have been told not to use social media, not to communicate with this page and the shelter FB page has been removed , the team now in place are also referring to CCAC by a new name Columbus County Animal Protective Services .. and are focussed on making the Sherriff permanently in charge of the shelter

What bit about Loretta Shipman. although being absent hru serious illness, being interviewed and approved in that role , also trained to the hilt in that role . do they not get.

They DO NOT realise (yet?) how useful Facebook has been for finding rescue for the animals in a shelter over the past ELEVEN YEARS that otherwise gets no support..and they have just swept hat away with "We no longer require your services"", VOLUNTARY Services they really do not understand or appreciate at all.. and also that WE ALL KNOW they are trying to steal Loretta's Job from her.

Until 2017 the Couny provided no meds at shelter so where did meds come from before then? They came from the networkers of this page funding them by donating to the Humane Society who then supplied shelter

Where did the many cat carriers that transport shelter ferals to vets and placement come from?.. the networkers of this page bought and donated them.

Where did all the playpen style crates used in the Adoptable Cat Room come from? The networkers of this page bought and donated them?

So DO you think they really "get" what we have been and are about. or how much work it really takes to find placement and rescue for cats in the shelter?. I think they are looking thru rose coloured glasses ..

and then.. . there came the comment in the phone call "But if we ever need your services again we will let you know" O really?
