Love me some baby zebrasšš¦
Iāve gotten several messages recently from folks who are interested in adding zebras to their farm. Although it can be done, zebras are not for everyone. They are not merely horses with stripes. They can be quick, twitchy, flighty, moody, and dangerous. They can also be extremely hard to doctor and restrain without the proper facility. Training zebras is a lifelong commitment, and they usually only allow their favorite person or couple people to work with them.
With that being said, if you feel like youāre capable of owning this majestic species, make sure you get them from a reputable breeder and hire an experienced trainer. Although their reputation isnāt great, they have the capacity to be well trained, kind, and loving. Owning them can be very rewarding!š
For horses that struggle standing still when theyāre mounted, this simple trick can help! We like to teach horses to swing themselves toward the rider (in a gentle way) so it feels more like their idea to be ridden. This is especially helpful when using mounting blocks. As the horse is more focused on the task, theyāre less likely to move away or run off when you try to get onš
Take a ride with me on a water buffalo!šWeāre on ride #7 with this handsome fella. Iām grateful to be apart of his journey!
Sometimes, you just need to take a day for self-care. These water buffalo wasted no time. šš
