Good effort, Goliath👏 You still stepped in the puddle though😅
I’m grateful I got to spend a couple days with this camel this summer! He was a lot of fun to work with. We worked on general safety (he was a biter), leading, and loading into the trailer. What a champ!

One of my favorite trips this summer was going to North Dakota to train camels, mini donkeys, and alpacas! Anita Lucy Chamley and Will Chamley are always a blast to work with🤠 We had a great time training their camels to caravan and ride!

I’ve let this page fizzle out over the last few months, but I’ve decided to continue posting here for those that follow and support it!

Back in May, I had the opportunity to train some reindeer in Wisconsin! The owner wanted some tips and tricks when it came to halter training and handling her reindeer. I was just there for a day, but we had a blast!

My trip to Wisconsin was the perfect start to my summer! I felt like a little kid again. I got to interact with species I’ve never touched before, allowing me to check more species off my bucket list!

I also trained a nice group of yaks, the same ones I trained in Wisconsin last year. Even though they had only been worked with once or twice in the last year, we picked up right where we left off. With only three days of training last year, I was surprised with how much information they retained! They did great.

Then I finished off my trip with a day spent with reindeer! Walking through the trees with a reindeer in hand felt magical. Call me Kristoff 💁🏼‍♂️

I got to spend some time with camels and catch up with my pals Charmian Wright, Heather Beck, and Jason Martin! Now I’m rejuvenated and can hopefully finish out the last month of the semester strong!

I started off my spring break working with Sawtooth Reindeer near Carey, Idaho! They had a great, clean facility and the nicest reindeer. Shaylin Heywood and her husband Eric Heywood care a lot about their animals. We had a blast 🤠

I snuck away from vet school for a day to go to Indiana🫣

I was invited to speak at the annual Reindeer Farmer's Association conference! I gave a presentation and did a live demo on training reindeer. l also gave a mini lecture on hoof care. I felt privileged to be with such an elite group of people!

The reindeer community's heart is in the right place. Their priority is education, bringing happiness to the public, and providing cutting-edge care to their animals.

No matter the time of year, owning and displaying reindeer is simply...magical✨.

Happy International Zebra Day!

My hat is off to the dedicated owners, breeders, and trainers that strive to create a better world for zebras. I hope that we can continue to improve our facilities, husbandry, and overall care to ensure the longevity of these incredible animals. 🦓💙

Heather Beck and I took her Texas Longhorn, The Kid, to get his feet trimmed! He’s a gentle giant. Due to his massive horns we had to back him up into the chute, which he did relatively gracefully. Big thanks to Dalton Sorensen for being willing to tackle such a project. He’s as classy as they come.
