Exciting update!
After over 6 months of working part time at I have accepted a full time position!
I have learned so many invaluable lessons over the past year since starting OK2Train and have made many friends in the form colleagues and clients. I will continue providing pet sitting services but, starting next week, will no longer offer training, walk and trains or field trips.
This decision has been both the easiest and most difficult decision I have made thus far. I have grown tremendously in my time at Fetch the Leash and am excited for this opportunity. At the same time, I have loved every dog and client I have had the pleasure of working with. Saying goodbye is never easy, but I like to think this is more of a "see you in a bit".
While I haven't been very active on this account during this transition, I will continue to use it to share my training journey with Kenna.
There is lots to learn and many more adventures ahead of me. Thank you for being here on the journey!
And a special thank you to my clients who have been more supportive than I could have imagined over the past few months.

This is Milo.
He is one of the foster dogs I've had the pleasure of getting to know thanks to Long Trail Canine Rescue. He is the sweetest, goofiest, cuddliest pup who loves his people with all he has. And yes, this personal space heater is still looking for his forever home.

"Never let your dog... or else..."
Somewhere, I know there is a "dog trainer" yelling at their phone screen because these dogs are walking freely ahead of me with "no leadership"
Except...
When did leadership become synonymous with "complete control" of another living being? (Note: I use quotes because complete control is never truly possible.)
We all know what effective leadership looks like; what it FEELS like; and what it isn't.
"Leadership is based on inspiration, not domination; on cooperation, not intimidation" - William Arthur Wood.
So what does leadership mean to you? And what would you dog have to say about it? 👇👇👇 Let's talk about it!
[ID: Photo 1: A dark teal boarder is around a photo of three dogs walking on a path in a field. From left to right: a black lab is wearing an orange jacket. A curly brown haired pup is wearing a purple jumpsuit and is walking a head of the other pups. A black and tan pup is walking with her tail wagging high about even with the black lab. In grey words, centered over the dogs, a quote reads "Leadership is based on inspiration, not domination; on cooperation, not intimidation" with William Arthur Wood and written below the dogs.
Photo 2: A photo of the dogs from above walking in the field without the boarder or quote]

Your reminder that realizing you need help is not a sign of weakness, but of strength.
There is often a stigma associated with asking for help, especially if it is for something you "should", by society's standard, be capable of doing.
But that's a load of dog p**p.
Whether you need help meeting your own needs, your dog's needs, or just figuring out where to start, it's always ok to reach out.
Because it's always ok to ask for help.
When the help you need includes your dog, don't ask Google. Ask a certified trainer: someone who will equip you with the skills you need, connect you to resources you can trust and support you on your journey.

For the fellow dog lovers out there looking for that perfect gift! Check out these gift cards from Gone To the Dogs Photography
Some of you may have heard that our friend Michelle at Rolling Meadow Natural Pet Market is starting a long journey with her health. She’s been incredibly supportive of me and my business and I’d love to help her out.
From now till Christmas I’m donating half of the proceeds of any gift cards for photo sessions to Michelle to help keep her store and family thriving while she undergoes chemotherapy and surgery.
Let’s support an amazing person and her small business while focusing on what has brought us all together - our dogs!
Be in touch if you’d like to purchase a gift card (I promise not to tell anyone if the card is for yourself!)
If you’d rather make a donation directly to her Go Fund Me, here’s the link:

If you are looking for 50 lbs of love, consider adopting Milo! We have been working together on some basic training with his amazing foster dog. It's bitter sweet to know his time has come to find a forever home because while I know he is going to be the missing piece for one very lucky family, I will miss his ferocious wiggles and happy smiles.
