We were out pulling radishes when the storm started to roll in. We had to seek shelter in our vehicles until the majority of the storm passed as it was too difficult to see and unsafe to try and drive through it....never experienced anything like it... sitting in my car hoping my car didn't flip into the fields or have something impale my windows. We lost plastic off one of our smaller greenhouses but fortunately, all of our others are still standing with no damage. Unfortunately, we need electricity to run our water pump to water all of our crops. So while they are OK for maybe a couple more days, the temps are rising again. Here's to hoping power will be restored sooner than later. Otherwise, we are looking at a very short growing season this summer.
We will be at the market tomorrow with limited selections since we know many don't have power and may not be able to cook or store fresh produce. We are also limited in our ability to wash large amounts of veggies and keep them cool and stored since we don't have power at our fields. We have found a temporary solution to storing our current harvest but again, without power, our cooler doesn't work. Please stay safe, cool, and hydrated out there. Thanks to all the energy/power crews for diligently doing their best to get everyone powered back on and for our fire crews (local and wildland) keeping communities safe.

UPDATE: Part of the Winter Storm Watch issued last week has been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning. Missoula/Bitterroot Valleys are now under a Winter Weather Advisory with parts of Lake/Flathead County (areas in the purple).
The bulk of the moisture is expected to fall tomorrow morning, and then another round of high elevation snow may hit tomorrow evening.
Cover up sensitive plants over the next few days & be ready for a wet start to our Monday!

This year, we are returning to our original home under the Beartracks Bridge (formerly Higgins St. Bridge) in the parking lot between Caras Park and the Holiday Inn. You can find us back at our original vendor spot that we made ours 19 yrs ago on the very first day the Clark Fork Market opened...so you'll know where to find us right next to the Loose Caboose coffee hut.
It's going to be another incredible season of enjoying all the things that make Montana spring and summers simply the best...our amazing farmers' market being one of them!
