How are we different from other breeders
Our babies are bathed weekly starting at 4wks, nails trimmed 2x wk, ears & nail beds cleaned routinely, clothes routinely worn. Our kittens are never confined, crated, or kept separate part of house/room. Kittens that grow up seperated, in any way, without free roam will have hard time adjusting, not socialized. My first Sphynx came from a breeder that kept cats in a seperate part of the . It was not a cage, and advertised "not caged". They were confined, it was misleading, nothing short of a puppy mill. She still has a wait-list. Just because says "not caged" does not mean "not contained". Don't breed if you don't want kittens running around the house, that's part of it. Our babies grow up a part of the family from day one. VIDEO CALLS: YES VISITS: NO
Sphynx are highly susceptible to illnesses; URI, colds, eye leak, sinuses. Exposing a < 1 ounce kitten with no immune system to foreign bacteria, viruses can be deadly. Later, exposure can still be deadly, harmful, lifelong consequences such as, but not limited to leaky eye, URI, sinus, cough, ear infections. Good Breeders put in a lot of love, sweat, TEARS, sleepless nights, dedication, sacrifice, TIME, so much time and money. Contrary to belief good breeders just break even, if we are lucky (back to why breeders don't use vet, give own vaccines, to cut corners save money, not for welfare of kitten).

Our Why

We grew up with every animal you can think of; opossum, chipmunk, squirrels, guinea pigs, rabbits, lizards, a mouse, a descented skunk, dogs, cats, birds. So, when my mom became allergic to animal fur, it became a lonely time. Her MS left her home-bound, and without any companionship due to her allergies. I knew Sphynx were not “hypo-allergenic” but some people did not have an allergic reaction to them. I had to try. A friend of a friend knew someone with a Sphynx and they were kind enough to allow my mom to test if she reacted to this hairless goddess. We couldn’t believe it, but she had no hives, itchy eyes, sneezing. *This is not true for everyone. There are allergies to dander, protein saliva, and fur. It is an individual basis.

It was a go on my search. After a year looking, driving 9 hours each way, we brought home our first girl. She changed our life. My mom at 65 years old said, “I’ve had so many pets, but I’ve never had a bond with any of them like I do her (Sphynx),”, adding, “they are different than any animal I’ve ever been around.”

As a Social Worker I advocate for adopting, but I also advocate for pet therapy, companionship, and helping people find solutions. After researching more, I learned Sphynx are the breed of cat most often used as a therapy pet (It’s true, you can get yours trained and certified). I decided to move forward and find a breeder who would mentor me. This is not a light undertaken and requires a lot of commitment, dedication, money, work, and time. If I do not due my due diligence, that means someone could end up heartbroken and with a sick companion/pet and that is the opposite of my purpose.

I want to match people, especially those with mental or physical illness, because these creatures were made to love you unconditionally. Their emotional IQ and ability to sense your needs is truly extraordinary.
