Dobby is such a beautiful black cat with the most expressive yellow/orange eyes. He is VERY curious and would absolutely love to go to a forever home with big windows so that he can watch everything that’s going on outside.

I watched someone’s pet take their last breath. Then I went into the next room with a smile. I didn’t want to, but I did it anyway.

I finished performing CPR on a kitten that didn’t make it. Then I had to tell the owner. I didn’t want to, but I did it anyway.

I hugged someone as they picked up their pet’s ashes. Then I had to answer the phone with a welcoming voice. I didn’t want to, but I did it anyway.

I got yelled at by a pet owner over the phone for being too expensive. Then I had to empathetically take payment from someone who was sending their pet across the rainbow bridge. I didn’t want to, but I did it anyway.

I bagged someone’s pet they would’ve paid anything to save. Then I had to go be empathetic as someone’s pet that could be saved wasn’t due to finances. I didn’t want to, but I did it anyway.

I cried in the bathroom during the 5 minutes I had between appointments. Then I had to go into the next room where an animal was neglected. I didn’t want to, but I did it anyway.

I watched an owner decline treatment for a fatal complication and take their pet home. Then I had to go to the next room like nothing happened. I didn’t want to, but I did it anyway.

I spent all day caring for other people’s pets. Then I had to go home and take care of mine. I didn’t want to but I did it anyway.

In veterinary medicine we don’t have choices. We have things we surely don’t want to do, but we do it anyway. Part of it because of our “end suffering” oath and part of it because it’s in our nature. One thing I can tell you is none of it is easy and damn sure isn’t because we “want” to. Yes, the small percentage of good outcomes outweigh the larger percentage of bad. But the good never stays with us. It’s the bad that forever damages our souls.

So the next time you think “they’re only in it for the money” or “they don’t care about animals” please remember not all of our smiles are real. Not all of our laughs are genuine. We do it because we have no choice. Half of the days we fake it to make it to the end. Our minds are tired and our hearts are heavy, but no matter what we will do it anyway 🤍

Dori was rescued from underneath a dumpster in the hot weather we had several weeks ago. She is an older girl, at least 8, and weighed a whopping 3.4 pounds at the vet. She is literally skin and bones. They couldn’t even take blood because she is in such bad shape.

I have been syringe feeding her A/D food mixed with goat’s milk, Nutrical, colustrum and mega vitamins trying to get weight back on her. She is also getting 100 cc’s of fluids daily with vitamin B complex thrown in for good measure.

I don’t know if she is a lost cat or a dump, but anyone who thinks house cats can fend on their own outside are sadly mistaken. This is what happens to them, and if they are lucky enough, they get rescued. But most times, not.

Dori is holding her own, but at this point, it will take some divine intervention to pull her through. If you can her to your prayers, it would be greatly appreciated. I will give it my best shot to get her healthy.

Now I have arrived at your home,
everything is strange, and I don't feel good.

Do not feel impatient
If i don't sleep in my newbasket.
Yesterday, I slept on a stone floor.

Do not be terrified if i gobble up my food.
Yesterday. I had to do it to survive.

Do not get angry if I p*e on your floor.
Yesterday, it did not matter.

Do not be sad if I am afraid of your loving hand. Yesterday, I did not have one.

Have patience with me, it's your world
but not yet mine.

If I trust you, I can give you the greatest
Gift Ihave to give..
My Heart ❤️

Please never forget, I was a pound dog
All I need, is a bit of time to adjust.

Update: Still waiting!

Willow and Winter are 4 year old healthy Great Pyrenees sibs who are very bonded .
Their owner dropped them off at a friends never to return . In time the friends dropped them off to be euthanized at a local vet office . The vets office seeing 2 sweet friendly healthy girls called us .
These girls remind me of children . At times listening well at other times not so much . Loving on each other 95% of the time with an occasional 3 second spat then back to loving on each other !
But they are very sweet loving girls who find them selves with no family no fault of their own .
They walk well on lead and are house trained . They do well with Cats but they have proven in the past that they would do better as the only dogs in the home. They were not raised as LGDs so they will not be placed as such.
A fenced yard is required .

It’s almost Spooky season! What better way to celebrate than to adopt a little black void aka a black cat into your home!!
This gentleman is named Dobby. He decided he had enough of the street life and walked right into someone’s house and made himself at home. He is a little beat up from his time as a stray with some scars to his front leg and cheek that have healed nicely. He has since been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped and is looking to enjoy a safe and loving home where he can receive lots of yummy wet food and “churus.” Dobby is about 2 years old, VERY CURIOUS, ENERGETIC, AND PLAYFUL. He is not afraid of anything and likes everyone he meets. He can be a little temperamental when it comes to other cats though. He seems to do best with other young playful cats or kittens.
