Hello everyone, I've got some not-so-fun news!
After I made this beautiful collar, it was shipped (with tracking/insurance) and delivered to the customer. However, this customer opened a case with Etsy claiming the collar never arrived. Instead of reaching out to me about their order first, waiting more than 4 hours for a reply to their Etsy case, or just being a decent human and admitting they actually received their order, the case was escalated immediately and Etsy refunded them (again, despite tracking showing the order was delivered)!
I was told by Etsy, via an automated email (because you don't get access to any live customer service without paying for it) that this would not affect my shop. This person made off with a collar and a refund. Today my shop has been placed on fund reserves. This means if you purchase from me through Etsy, I do not have access to that payment until the item ships, OR 45 days after the item ships. I don't know about you, but for my small business this option is not feasible. I'm not a big enough shop to keep everything on-hand at any given moment. I order materials as orders come in.
ALL THIS to say: I'll be closing my Etsy shop this year and moving over to a platform that's more invested in their sellers than their shareholders and scammers (open to suggestions)! If you see this collar out in the world, make sure you thank the owner for bringing my small business to a grinding halt while I look for and set-up another platform to sell on, while simultaneously raising two small children, caring for two senior dogs, and working a full-time and very demanding job.
If you can't tell, I'm extremely upset by all this, and I don't have the time to switch to a new platform quickly. All because of one person - whom I will never do business with again. In the interim, the Etsy shop is being placed on vacation mode, and I'm taking a little break when all current orders are completed and shipped.
