And the last two little ones caused us significant stress! Mama had been in labor for an extended period, resulting in a potential life-threatening situation due to the risk of placenta detachment and potential aspiration or suffocation. Breeders must be knowledgeable in life-saving techniques, including fluid removal from lungs, resuscitation, and CPR. We must be proficient in extracting the baby by any available body part, inducing breathing, and providing necessary care. When all else fails, we must resort to seeking medical attention at a hospital. Unfortunately, not all babies survive. Life is indeed fragile. Fortunately, we were able to give careful care to the last two, and Hopefully, with proper attention, they will grow to be as strong and healthy as the rest. 🐾🎁❤️🐾🎁❤️🐾🎁❤️🐾🎁❤️

And then there were two! Our second baby is a sweet little girl! Snowfall did an amazing job! She is so happy! She can’t wait to be done so she can relax and play with her babies all day! We've still got two more on the way, but it feels like we've already got a household of 10! 🐾🐾🐾🐾

Meanwhile ice bear has some comfy new digs for her lovely little treasures!!! These sweet fatties are all settled in! I keep trying to tell her that she doesn’t have to be in there the whole time but she’s obsessed with her puppies, and just wants to cuddle them and clean them and nurse them and sleep with them! 🐾🐾🐾🐾

It's finally happening - Snowfall is having her puppies! We're expecting a very small litter, but she's ecstatic! As a momma who's had a litter before, she's totally prepared and knows exactly what to expect! Her whelping den is all cozy and ready for the new arrivals! Fingers crossed those puppies will make their debut this afternoon, or we'll be up all night waiting! We're absolutely head over heels in love with her - she's the sweetest, most laid-back momma in the world! 🐾🐾🐾🐾🎁🎄❤️

We are excited to share a sneak peek at our hungry hungry hippos!!! The babies are becoming increasingly vocal, using different calls to communicate their needs. As a result, they kept me up most of the night, having learned that their cries prompt a swift response.❤️🐾🎁🎄

Check out the size of these furballs already! Born on Saturday and Sunday and now they're actual puppies! Oh man, I'm head over heels!

And in the end, we have the fantastic four! Two boys and two girls! Gorgeous big babies! There was a “paws”, in labor. But I thought to be safe we checked in with a local ER. I can say it’s very difficult to find a vet especially skilled in reproduction. As breeders we rely on our own intuition and experience with each litter life and death situation. We handle these situations on our own, and try to make the best calls or call on other breeders for their expertise. Unfortunately often Vets are inexperienced in this field and the overwhelmed veterinary system has not gotten back to the excellence that it once was before Covid. But I’m grateful for my four fantastic babies! I’m glad that I listened to my own gut that ended up saving two puppies today against an “expert opinion” that I knew in my gut was wrong.

This gorgeous boy needed a helping hand as he was paws first!!! But I caught onto his little paws and pulled him into the world! 😘🐾

Our long awaited first baby Winter White’s Ice Bear first litter!! This gorgeous huge girl persevered through three days of labor and two hours of pushing! He head was so big, we had to go in and get her!! But She’s a shining star, as big as our big boys and strong as an ox, already nursing!

What an incredible moment! Ice Bear is going into labor and we're expecting 5 to 6 precious babies tonight! The strong heartbeats are music to our ears! This is going to be a beautiful, joyful birth for the babies, mama, and our entire family! Both of my sons are here to lend a helping hand and they can't wait to meet the new additions! Stay tuned for updates, photos, and videos! If my boys are still awake, we might even go live! 🐾🥰
