Great information,

Compared to other animal species, the equine stomach is small occupying only 8% of the entire tract.

However the dog is 60% and the cow is 70%.

What does this mean?

That the horse's digestive system has evolved to ingest small amounts of food continuously. The dog, however, as originally a predatory animal, makes bulky and more punctual meals.

The cow is a herbivorous animal like the horse, but its stomach is compartmentalized to process rumen and its stomach works as if it were the horse's colon.

If you notice, the horse's large intestine has a great capacity, precisely to ferment all the fiber it ingests.

Small continuous servings instead of two or three copious. This latest form of feeding has been introduced to meet our needs, not those of equines.

Smart deworming decisions are based on regular f***l egg-count tests that identify which horses in a herd need to be treated for particular parasites. This guidance, however, doesn’t apply to controlling bots. >>>https://bit.ly/EQBattlingBots

Your body position matters to help your horse use his body correctly.

A rider that is out of position, dragging on the reins, leaning, and unbalanced, can keep their horse from being able to properly frame up.

Check out our series of articles on body position, with the advice of professional clinician and trainer, Terry Myers.

3. Remove the object immediately! True -or- False
4. How is this horse still alive?
5. Why are horses prone to accidents?
1. No. Although this pony wanted to be a Unicorn, this is called a foreign body injury. Call your vet IMMEDIATELY.
2. NOT Panic. Rule #1 of equine first aid is to Remain calm. Why? Your horse needs you, it is not the time. Learn Equine First Aid ( www.openairequine.com )
3. FALSE! We have no idea what this object has hit or where it ends. Let your vet take x-rays.
