This is a new emergency fundraiser as several of my cat rescue's special needs residents are in desperate need of meds and tests. We have $13.28 in the rescue's account and have over $800 of pending and upcoming bills so, if you can, please donate to [email protected] via Venmo or Paypal or Zelle as that is the fastest way to get funds to the rescue. We are currently feeding 36 cats every day. Thanks to your recent donations, I was able to get Belle Apiccinina the miracle drugs (Mutian Mutoral I & II) that may be her last hope and though she has 8 weeks of treatment to go, I'm already seeing a huge improvement. She is in significantly less pain and her toothless mouth is as functional as it have been in a very long time. She and three of her children - Dr. Acula, Isabel and Terry Graham - all also toothless as a result of the same autoimmune disorder are in need of a full panel test at the vet to determine exactly what med they need to cure a persistent ailment that is causing them to be sick on a daily basis. Lemora, another special needs resident, desperately needs a refill on her medication which we are nearly out of to treat cryptococcosis, one of the most ghastly things a cat could catch. Today I am posting an emergency fundraiser for Belle Apiccinina and several special needs cats (Paypal and Venmo are [email protected] and we have Zelle as well) who desperately need medications and to keep my nonprofit cat rescue going because we're out of food, supplies, and need to pay our accountant for doing our 2023 taxes. The medications that we need to buy in the next few days total over $500 and our accounting bill is $525. Thanks to you who have supported this rescue mission, we've helped over 200 cats in need since 2017 and have established a sanctuary for several disabled and special needs cats who are permanent wards of the rescue. We are currently feeding 36 cats every day. I am hoping to raise over $1,000 in the next few days. Thank you for continuing to help me care for these cats in need. Pictured: Lemora who needs medicine to treat her cryptococcosis which is life threatening if untreated and Belle Apiccinina who suffers from an auto immune disorder and who needs a 12-week-supply of a new pair of miracle drugs Mutoral 1 and Mutoral 2 which may finally remove the chronically painful swelling and ulcers in her toothless mouth. As she is, she is unable to groom herself and has great difficulty eating and is wasting away. Mutoral may offer a permanent cure for her illness. Several of Belle's disabled, toothless children are wards of the rescue and I am almost out of meds for 4 members of that family who need more amoxicillin. Again, thank you.

The great goddess Patricia Morrison to the rescue! This is an emergency fundraiser. The legendary, iconic, insanely beautiful and talented Patricia Morrison donated a limited edition signed self portrait to my cat rescue to help raise funds for the cats. Several wards of the sanctuary (Belle Apiccinina and several of her special needs children) are suffering from having clostridial enterotoxicosis (which I was able to get a diagnosis for thanks to your recent donations) and I need to pick up meds today. Since the cats suffering from it are all toothless due to an autoimmune disorder which has run rampant in the family and several are relatively frail, they need to be treated immediately. The vet closes at 5pm and we're out of funds again so I'm hoping for the best. This is a limited edition of 13 signed and numbered 5"x7" prints (plus 2 unnumbered proofs) that Patricia Morrison took specifically to help the rescue. Today's bill for medicine will be $148.10 and we are running out of cat food and litter as well. I just posted my first ever Facebook live video, which felt weird, but I wanted to thank everyone who has donated to my cat rescue recently.  You've made a huge difference.  I'm awaiting Belle Piccinina's lab results from earlier this week and I am currently at the animal hospital with Lemora to see if she has recovered from one of the worst things a cat can catch, cryptococcosis.  Both of these little mother cats are permanent wards off the rescue as they are extremely special needs.  Today's total for Lemora's hospital visit comes to $644.95 and the rescue currently has $587.23 in our bank account. This is an emergency fundraiser as my rescue just took in Santos Stokes, a homeless cat rescued by my friends Sammy Phillips, Shari Sayed, and a young woman named Aria. We are out of funds and need to get him to a vet as quickly as possible. He came limping out of the bushes with skin hanging from his face and other injuries to his neck, tail and shoulder. Hopefully a fundraising campaign company will be helping us to raise all the money we need for his care but for now if anyone would like to Paypal or Venmo the rescue directly, please do so at [email protected]. I cannot tell the full extent of his injuries as a full diagnosis will likely require x-rays. He may have an upper respiratory infection as well. The poor boy took a hell of a beating and it's amazing that he got away. He's very docile and eats treats from my hands and will need a loving home once he's recovered as he cannot be return to the streets he came from as it's unlikely he'd survive a second attack. Santos is the 200th cat we've been able to do something for since this rescue first started in 2017. Thank you everyone who has supported us and helped us to accomplish all we have accomplished.

Superkitten Regan Raygun and her 3 babies are there and up for adoption. Be there or be cubed meat on a cracker for the cats to eat!

Meet Atila Sikora! One of our latest rescues and the reason for this emergency fundraiser. We are about to leave for the vet as Atila had an upper respiratory infection that I thought he'd recovered from but it persisted and spread through the sanctuary like wildfire and so now we have 10 sick cats. It's likely viral in nature but I have to get a diagnosis, see if anything can be done to get rid of it or to alleviate the symptoms to keep the cats more comfortable when they recover. Pumpkin Spice has left the sanctuary and this world. She was one of the very first homeless cats I met in Downtown LA back in September 2017 when she was living in the courtyard of an apartment complex where, I would soon learn, a family of cat tortures and serial killers resided. She and her companion, a beautiful white cat named Mako, evaded capture after I initially learned of the danger they were in. Over the years they would disappear for long periods of time, sporadically popping up again and when they began hanging around the cat killers' home again in 2022, Mako was obviously very sick and their rescue became a huge priority. I'm sorry to say that Mako - who was very social and friendly in the end and who wandered off before my friend arrived so that I could retrieve a trap or carrier from my car - died out there around the beginning of 2023. The day I finally caught Spicy in April 2023, the cat killer showed up during the rescue attempt as it was in the complex where he lived. I had never seen him before but I immediately knew who I was dealing with. The thug tried to sabotage her rescue, said something like "Why don't you take the rats out of here too?," clearly implying that all these creatures were just vermin to him and I knew that this was a person who had been torturing and killing cats and kittens on that property for years, probably since he was a child. I didn't realize prior to catching her that Spicy was very sick. Once in the rescue's custody, I discovered that she threw up constantly and it took several vet visits and an ultrasound to get a diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease. With the proper medications, she threw up less often and she seemed comfortable and happy enough here and had some friendly feline company. Having known me for years as someone who fed her and who was not out to hurt her, she trusted me enough and I respected her personal space and boundaries. She got treats every day in which her meds were concealed and I was conservative in how much I pet her or handed her because she was obviously never going to be super affectionate towards any humans. I am sure she was abused on the streets. I believe she had a neck injury at some point which made it impossible for her to raise her head all the way but, again, she seemed content to be taken care of indoors and trusted me enough. I knew that she would never completely regain her full health but hoped that she was enjoying her life here and that she felt loved and cared for. When I went into the room to check on her and her companions in the early morning hours of November 30th, I could see that the end was suddenly very near. I think all the years on the streets in a very toxic environment had poisoned her entire system. I held her and tried to comfort her and though it was around 4:30am I called my friend Paula, a member of the rescue's board who has known Spicy since she was a kitten, who named her, and who did her best to care for her in that neighborhood whenever she saw her. Paula spoke to Spicy over speaker phone and Spicy recognized her voice and it meant a lot to both of them to have that final contact in this world. I would like to write more but I know everyone has things to do and the truth is that I had better shift my attention to the cats who are still here at the sanctuary. Several, unlike Spicy, are not special needs and those cats are up for adoption. There are three homeless babies in the desert who I need to rescue and find homes for as soon as possible. I'll post about them later today. For now, thank you everyone who cared about Pumpkin Spice and who donated to her healthcare. I couldn't keep this rescue going without those of you who support us and these cats. I would like to think that Spicy and Mako are back together now, free of their ailments and happy and in a place of infinite love for all eternity. That sounds like the stuff of fairy tales to some, but they deserve it and a loving God will give it to them.
