There were no other dogs at the dog park, so my firstborn encouraged Heppy to chase her instead.

Heppy spent some of her Gotcha Day enjoying being the lap dog she was born to be. Happy 10 years in our family, Heppy!

Last week, my little Miss Mischief got loose from her safe room and wrought havoc in the unoccupied house for several hours. Both the emergency vet and our local vet were hopeful that all the junk she ate would pass on its own. Most of it did, but after a week, a golf-ball-sized mass of detritus (including a thin metal wire) remained. So, today, Heppy got to see her friends at MedVet for an endoscopy. (It's been 3 years to the day since her first gastrotomy due to bowel obstruction. We're grateful they could manage without an incision today!) It took patience and skill, but they got everything out. One of the techs described what they removed as basically the contents of a vacuum cleaner bag: hair, paper towel, the thin wire...I don't even remember what else. But she's now home, safe and healthy.
