Rescue Rovers Dog Adoptions We are a 501c3 non profit, all volunteer, foster home-based rescue located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
(137)

Rescue Rovers started in November, 2012 as an all volunteer, non-profit group arranging transportation from high kill shelters to partner rescues in the Intermountain West. Our mission was to pool resources to maximize the number of dogs saved when a volunteer went to "pull" a dog from the shelter. We believed if we had an empty seat in the car, a kennel could go there and we could save more lives

. Indeed, our promise that "Together, we can do MORE" has helped us save several thousand pets' lives since our inception. In February, 2013, several of our group leaders who had been with other rescue groups banded together to found our Adoptions group. Since that time, hundreds MORE dogs are getting out of shelters and finding furever homes through adoption. We applied for our 501c3 in 2013, and received approval from the IRS, allowing that donations made to our rescue are fully tax deductable.

NEW RESCUE!
Lil’ Witch is a female min pin (maybe) mix, just under 3 months. As the ‘runt’ she is the tiniest of the litter, and will likely stay under 15 lbs going off her short legs and current tiny size of just 6 lbs. She got her beautiful coloring from her mother, also available with Rescue Rovers for reference (see momma “Mummy).

Lil’ Witch’s personality is comedic, sassy and bossy. She’s the dog who, despite her small size, will be the queen of your house and your heart. She will hold her own with any person or dog, and expresses her wishes with one or two bossy commanding barks as if she’s telling you off. She does not bark outside, so this is clearly her way of talking to you. She is very people-oriented, actively engaged and ready to learn new tricks and take over the world.

Puppy reality check follows: Anyone adopting a young puppy should expect a few accidents, a few chewed up items, and the need to invest time, human interaction, positive reinforcement and commitment to training in order to raise an amazing family member. As for Lil’ Witch, she is not yet 100 percent house trained due to her young age. She is currently using puppy pads combined with kennel training and scheduled potty breaks several times during the day. She loves to go outside with her siblings and will typically do her business right away. When winter is fully here in the coming weeks, she will need patience and care in helping her navigate potty training in the snow, especially since she’s extremely small. She has sharp puppy teeth and will soon be entering the teething phase, so she will need positive redirection to appropriate chew toys.

NEW RESCUE!
Vampire is a female min pin (maybe) mix, just under 3 months. She is the ‘mini me’ of her mother, but will be much smaller going off of her paw size and current weight of just under 10 lbs. Her dark brindle coloring and super dark brown eyes are beautiful, and everyone who sees her falls in love with her immediately. She has an obvious wisdom about her and will look right at you as if to have a non-verbal conversation. Her mother is currently also available with Rescue Rovers for reference (see momma “Mummy).

Vampira’s personality is brave, independent and outdoorsy. If a puppy can be a granola girl, Vampire is it. She is the most adventurous and smartest of the litter, always ignoring her foster mom’s pleas to come inside so that she can steal a few more minutes to sniff and explore the backyard. For this reason, she would be a great small-scale camping companion, but she should not be off leash until she (and you) have recall training down. Although she loves the outdoors, she shouldn’t be left in the yard alone or be an outside dog. She will chase her siblings in play, but is also content either napping or exploring on her own. She is very people-oriented, actively engaged and ready to learn new tricks.

Puppy reality check follows: Anyone adopting a young puppy should expect a few accidents, a few chewed up items, and the need to invest time, human interaction, positive reinforcement and commitment to training in order to raise an amazing family member. As for Vampira, she is not yet 100 percent house trained due to her young age. She is currently using puppy pads combined with kennel training and scheduled potty breaks several times during the day. When winter is fully here in the coming weeks, she will need patience and care in helping her navigate potty training in the snow, especially since she’s so small. She has sharp puppy teeth and will soon be entering the teething phase, so she will need positive redirection to appropriate chew toys.

NEW RESCUE!
Bride of Frankenstein is a female min pin (maybe) mix, just under 3 months. She is a low-rider with short legs and the cutest big ears! She is beautiful and sweet, with blond brindle stripes and striking golden eyes. She will likely stay under 20lbs as an adult, going off of her paws and current weight of just over 7 lbs. Her mother is currently also available with Rescue Rovers for reference (see momma “Mummy).

Bride of Frankenstein’s personality is quiet, submissive and sweet. If she 'escapes' her puppy pen, she will roll over when you go to pick her up as cute resistance to her wanting to be free to run around and explore the house. She loves to be with her siblings and momma. She is not extremely barky, mouthy or hyper in her play, preferring instead to sit back and observe what is going on. She would be a great companion for someone wanting a sweet housemate, or even a respectful and dog-savvy child who will pick her up gently.

Puppy reality check follows: Anyone adopting a young puppy should expect a few accidents, a few chewed up items, and the need to invest time, human interaction, positive reinforcement and commitment to training in order to raise an amazing family member. As for Bride of Frankenstein, she is not yet 100 percent house trained due to her young age. She is currently using puppy pads combined with kennel training and scheduled potty breaks several times during the day. She loves to go outside with her siblings and will typically do her business right away, but when it is raining, she says “I’ll wait”. Therefore, when winter is fully here in the coming weeks, she will need patience and care in helping her navigate potty training in the snow. Especially since she’s so small. She has sharp puppy teeth and will soon be entering the teething phase, so she will need positive redirection to appropriate chew toys.

NEW RESCUE!
Dracula is a male min pin (maybe) mix, just under 3 months. He has the most gorgeous coloring, with blond brindle stripes and beautiful golden eyes. He will likely stay under 40 lbs as an adult, going off of his paws and his momma’s size (see momma “Mummy).

Dracula’s personality is the typical ‘big brother’ as he is much bigger than his siblings. He loves to wrestle and play, but also loves to snuggle with his doggy momma, and appreciates being held and kissed by his human foster mom. He would be the perfect dog for someone that wants a sturdy but mid-sized companion who will hike and play with the whole family.

Puppy reality check follows: Anyone adopting a young puppy should expect a few accidents, a few chewed up items, and the need to invest time, human interaction, positive reinforcement and commitment to training in order to raise an amazing family member. As for Dracula, he is not yet 100 percent house trained due to his young age. He is currently using puppy pads combined with kennel training and scheduled potty breaks several times during the day. He loves to go outside with his siblings and will typically do his business right away, but when it is raining, he says “I’ll wait”. Therefore, when winter is fully here in the coming weeks, Dracula will need patience and care in helping him navigate potty training in the snow. He has sharp puppy teeth and will soon be entering the teething phase, so he will need positive redirection to appropriate chew toys.

NEW RESCUE!
Mummy is a 2 year old min pin (maybe?) mix. She is about 25 lbs and has the most beautiful brindle stripes that she has passed on to her four puppies, also with Rescue Rovers. She is a gentle girl who is sweet and kind. She is good with other dogs and would love another furry friend to play with in the yard. Because of her habit of jumping up on people and counter surfing, small kids could get knocked over or robbed of their lunch. More pros and cons are below:

Her pros: Mummy wants to please her person, and responds very well to verbal directions and corrections. She will generally follow commands such as “kennel up” and “stay”. She tries really hard to become pals with other dogs, and even gives them kisses and high fives to make friends. When loose in the house, she respects baby gate barricades and stays in the rooms allowed. She is crate trained and will stay quiet in her crate overnight. She will take treats very well from your hands. Anything food, she loves. She loves squeaky toys. She loves to go for walks and would love an active home. She loves to sleep on the couch with you, and will try to put her head in your lap for reassurance that she can stay there.

Her cons: Any ‘cons’ seem to stem from an apparent lack of structure Mummy experienced in her original home, and it has been a joy to see her learn from more constant sources of food and basic house rules. For example, it appears she had to scavenge for food as a pregnant mom, based on her actively searching for any floor crumbs and counter surfing. You might think she’s always starving, but she’s just very food-motivated. She has gotten better about jumping up on your leg for attention, now that she knows she gets lots of loves. She will do her potty business outside, but her foster mom still recommends room containment (baby gates) and a fair amount of observation until she learns the schedule of her new home. She rarely barks, but when another dog barks next door, she joins in until corrected to stop.

If Mummy seems like the good girl for you, apply to meet her today at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

NEW RESCUES!
Hi, we are Hershee & Nestli, two sweet sweet brothers! We are 3 and a half month old nuetered lab mixes at about 7 lbs. Hershee is dark chocolate and Nestli is white with caramel spots Emoji My foster mom says we are coming out of our shells in a big way. We came from a shelter and are learning all the new things about home living. We love exploring new sites and sounds. Our goals in life are playing, snuggling, and sleeping. We have some puppy energy, but can also calm down for naps and bedtime. We will get to approximately 20-25 lbs Living in a home with another dog would be great, but is not required. We catch on very fast to routine and are ok if it varies as well. We are very easy going and want nothing more than to be your friend. We live with my fosters Great Dane and Mixed puppy, a kiddo, and 2 older cats that are bigger than us!!. We are still a bit puppy nippy so having some toys and chew things is a must.

A few of the many great things about us:
- We are super sweet, and love to play, but will also stay quietly in our kennel when the foster family runs errands.
- We will be your sunshine
- We haven't quite grasped learning to walk on a leash, We can't figure out why this thing is following us or attached to us? We are being introduced to commands we don't know them well but like the treats!
- Our crate is a safe place and we sleep together quietly in it all night without a peep.
- Our potty training is going well. Hershee is a super star, Nestli still needs a little patience.
- We are good right away with other animals, love children and adults, and give lots of kisses. We can be shy around people at first, but don't hesitate around animals. We get very snuggly quick.
- We would love to live somewhere we can be active and still a puppies. We love running freely in the yard.
- Currently we are living with 2 foster siblings, a fully grown female great dane and a shepherd mixed boy pup.

If you are interested in meeting us, please fill out an adoption application at: https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication - We can't wait to meet you!

NEW RESCUE!
Meet Temor!
Hi! I’m Temor—and if you know French, you know that means fear. I’m a scared little guy that’s had a rough few months. I was found as a skinny stray and brought to Rescue Rovers, where I’ve been learning to trust again. But let’s be honest, that’s hard. While I am fearful, I am very gentle and not aggressive.
I’m a male that’s almost 3 years old. I love other dogs and having one in my future home to help me feel comfortable and safe is kind of a big deal. I love to play with my dog friends and with toys as well.
I’m extremely food-motivated. You can probably win me over that way. Since I was starving before I was found, I don’t have much self-control and will get to food any way I can, whether by tipping over the garbage can or jumping in the cat room to eat their food.
I use the doggy door like a champion, but my foster mom says I don’t know why I’m using it. Could you help me figure out this potty-training thing?
I’d probably do best with no kids or older, dog-savvy kids who know how to give me time to adjust. I think I’m making myself sound like a lot of work, but I know I’m worth it! I’d happily snuggle with you through this long winter and for life! Apply to meet me at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication.

NEW RESCUE!
Meet Panther!
Hi! My name is Panther. I’m an 8-year-old male chihuahua. Being an older gentleman, I’m a little set in my ways. I like food, the occasional walk/sprint in the backyard, and a nice cozy blanket. If someone is snuggled with me in the blanket, that is even better! I take a minute to feel comfortable with people, but once I warm up, I think I’m pretty easy. Older kids would be better for me since I can be a little jumpy. I’m really good with other dogs but I don’t love cats. I sleep in my crate at night like a champion and sometimes during the day when my foster parents are at work. I know how to use a doggy door, but my foster mom says I need a potty-training schedule so that I don’t have accidents. Maybe she just doesn’t understand my cues yet. I blame her. If you want a salt and pepper cutie that is out of the puppy stage, apply to meet me at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication.

AVAILABLE!
Well hello! My name is Indu which is Hindi for moon. I am a 4-year-old Dutch shepherd mix who is about 65 lbs.
I am a sweet, shy girl who absolutely loves other dogs of all sizes and I mostly ignore cats. I need a family that is willing to be patient with me while I learn to trust people. In the time I’ve been with my foster family I’ve gone from spending most of my time outside or in the other room to sleeping on the bed, asking for pets, getting excited when the humans come home, and hanging out where everyone else is. It might take me a bit to be a confident dog who doesn’t shy away from new people, but I promise I will keep working so hard at it!
Loud noises and sudden movements kind of still scare me though so I would be best with kids 12 and over. I am house trained and have never had an accident. I know my name and come when I’m called. I’m not a barker and can be trusted to be left out while you’re away. I love walls and am working on not pulling on the leash-I’m just so excited!
If you’re looking for a sweet gal to add to your pack, apply at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

NEW RESCUE!
Hello, I am Pink Lady! And I’m even sweeter than the apple I’m named after. I am a 2-year-old heeler/pittie mix and weigh about 45 pounds. Along with my striking beauty I also have a wonderful disposition; I am gentle, loving, and soft spoken. With this short coat that I’m sporting it’s freezing!

Everybody who meets me raves about what a wonderful dog I am! I am FULLY housebroken, and crate trained. I know I belong on the couch cuddling with people, so I don’t love staying in my crate, but I can be crated if you want me to be. Sometimes I let out the softest whine in my crate but not for long. I do love to chew on a good bone, but I am not destructive in the house and am trustworthy to have free reign of the house. I’m a girl that does not like to disappoint anyone, and I am very sensitive to being in trouble. If anyone even slightly raises their voice, then I slink off and put myself in time out in my crate. I don’t have an aversion to men like a lot of other dogs, but I do best with slow introductions with anyone new that I meet. I am not the type of dog who is going to run up and jump on you. Not only am I very submissive to people but I am also submissive to all the dogs I have met in my foster home; I do get bouncy sometimes and seem like I want to play but I am still just a little bit hesitant, I wouldn’t want to annoy any of them and have them be mad at me.

My foster mom says I could probably be good with kids and cats, although I haven’t met any in my foster home. I am unequivocally devoted to my people but would not be welcoming to any guests unwanted visitors. My “scary” bark (only when appropriate) is a nice comfort to have around. I take treats so gently out of people’s hands, and I love my afternoon walks! I get so excited when I see the leash come out, my full body waggles and my tail doesn’t stop until we get home. I walk well on a leash; I may just need a little fine tuning here and there, but I am quite responsive to the person walking me. When my foster parents walk me past crazy, loud barking dogs (big and small) I don’t react to them and would just prefer to walk away from them and their drama. I occasionally run into chickens on my walks too, and when I am close to them I look at them a little intensely but when I hear my foster mom say “no” I make eye contact with her and wag my tail extra hard and keep walking. After my walk I like to nap and be lazy, I am not a dog that requires a ton of stimulation and exercise, just enough to keep me healthy. I could be happy in a home with other sweet dogs or be happy in a home as an only dog, to soak up all the love and kisses that I can get! An ideal home for me would be one that lets me on the bed and couch to snuggle, it makes me so happy.

It's cuffing season! Can I be the apple of your eye and bundle up next to you all winter? Apply to meet me today @ https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

NEW RESCUE!
Welcome to this big, wonderful world, isn’t great?
I’m Brinkley, let me tell you a little about myself I am a very good girl. I like exploring this great world, I would love someone who would take me on lots of adventures. I was on an adventure when they found me and took me to the shelter. I am so glad I now live in a house with a big backyard they have a horse back there I am not interested in him. They also have a cat that comes around I want him to play with me. He does not want the same thing.
I have a lot of dog friends at my foster’s house. I love them, especially when we run and play and we tackle each other. My foster family says I need to be nice when I have a bone, I do not like it when they try to take it away from me. We have lots of toys and dog beds my favorite one is right in front of the fireplace where I snuggle up with my little dog friends. I sleep really well in my crate and I am doing great at potty training my foster family thinks I am a rockstar.
If you would like to meet me and take me on lots of adventures apply to meet me at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

NEW RESCUE!
Aye Mate!

My name is Maverick's Free Spirit Wingman aka Maverick! I am a genuine mini-Aussie shepherd and a growing boy at 6 months old! I weigh 26 pounds and will likely be around 35-40 lbs full grown. I have lots of puppy energy and I’m a working dog breed, so I need to have lots of exercise and playtime every day! Now that you have been let in on the hard truths, the fun stuff about me is I am so playful and very affectionate. I get along with the four-legged brothers I live with after the initial barking and sniffing. Hey, it’s just who I am. After a proper introduction, I love having fun with other dogs. Big, small – it’s all the same to me.

I am crate trained, house trained, and I am working on basic commands and manners. I am hoping for a family that will continue to work with me and help me become the best boy ever! If you think you are the family for me, fill out an application and lets meet! https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

Rescue Rovers

Rescue Rovers saves dogs from high kill shelters in Utah and surrounding areas. Those dogs are placed in loving foster homes while they are vetted (at a minimum, each dog is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and microchipped before going home, some dogs have more extensive medical needs) and taught to be a pet! When dogs are ready to find their forever home we begin to market them. We take multiple applications for each dog and work hard to find the perfect family for every pup!
