We are a 501c3 non profit, all volunteer, foster home-based rescue located in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Rescue Rovers started in November, 2012 as an all volunteer, non-profit group arranging transportation from high kill shelters to partner rescues in the Intermountain West. Our mission was to pool resources to maximize the number of dogs saved when a volunteer went to "pull" a dog from the shelter. We believed if we had an empty seat in the car, a kennel could go there and we could save more lives

. Indeed, our promise that "Together, we can do MORE" has helped us save several thousand pets' lives since our inception. In February, 2013, several of our group leaders who had been with other rescue groups banded together to found our Adoptions group. Since that time, hundreds MORE dogs are getting out of shelters and finding furever homes through adoption. We applied for our 501c3 in 2013, and received approval from the IRS, allowing that donations made to our rescue are fully tax deductable.

I am LOVING this weather. Fall is in the air and that means lazy Sundays laying around and snuggling. Don't get me wrong, I love walks and playing too, but there is nothing like snuggles.

Are you looking for a little spice in your life? Meet the newly harvested peppers, Ancho and Pasilla. They are the perfect balance of soft, fluffy and playful with a little extra heat! At only 8 weeks old, these mini-aussie boys are looking for families who understands the sweet cuddles and puppy nose licks along with the spicy nibbles, a couple floor dribbles and patience that young ones require!
These little fluffer nutters will need someone who is committed to training and helping them grow up to be the very best version of themselves! The personalities come on their own, it’s the advance skills like “Don’t eat that!” and “come!” that these little ones need! Of course, a little “sit”, “stay” and “lay down” might come in handy as well as they continue to grow! These little peppers currently weigh between 4-5 lbs. and they should ripen to about 25-35 lbs.
Little known facts: They love toys, food, playing with the other dogs in the house and water. They enjoy playing in the water from the hose or in their bowl. They would likely do well with someone who paddle boards or enjoys lake adventures. Like all good spicy heat, they love a good cool down!

Hi! I’m Mighty Mike, but my humans call me Mikey! I’m a very sweet and affectionate 4 year old shepherd mix.

Here are some of the best things about me:
- I’m the biggest cuddle bug you’ll ever meet. If there’s a lap to be sat on I want to sit in it! I just love snuggling up to my humans.
- I love going on walks and going for drives (I’m great in the car!). I also love pup cups, treats, taking naps, and chewing on bones!
- I’m fully crate and potty trained, plus I know basic commands, but I would love to work on some training to learn even more. I’m a bit of a jumping jelly bean but we’re working on that! - I’m eager to please and pick up on training really quickly
- I do great with other dogs as long as they’re not too rambunctious. I like to play some, but mostly just want to do my own thing.

I'm a nine-year-old lab/pit mix. I may be considered "older", but you'd never know it when meeting me. I love walks around the neighborhood, car rides, and going to new places...all the things! As long as I'm with my people, I'm happy. I also LOVE to snuggle. Movie time is my favorite, and if I can snuggle up next to you and sleep, I’m in heaven!

I’m crate trained, house trained, and I'm a pro with the doggy door. My foster parents say that after a couple of weeks of adjusting, I'll be just fine left out in my new home while my family is away. I just snuggle up on the couch or a dog bed for a nice nap until my people return.

I’m good with other dogs and really love little dogs. I will even play tug with other dogs or run around the yard to play when they want. I'm pretty content doing whatever the other dogs in the house enjoy! Oh, and did I mention that I love kids? I think they're so fun! My foster mom says I'm too interested in cats and should probably live without them, but otherwise, I'm as close to perfect as they come!

As I mentioned, I’m in great health for my age and like other senior dogs, I just need a joint supplement to keep my body in good shape. Hi, my name is Karo and my personality is as sweet as the syrup I'm named after. I am a beautiful collie cross. I've been an excellent mama to my puppies and now I'm looking for my forever family.
My foster mom says I'm everything a good girl should be. I'm calm and patient even with small children and puppies. I want desperately to please my people and will do almost anything asked of me. I learn easily and love to play after training time. I'm low energy for a collie only about a five on a scale of one to ten.
I have come so far in the three weeks living in a home. I can walk on a lead. I will put myself in my crate at bedtime or when I want to rest. I come when called and politely ask for attention when I want it. I use the doggy door to do my business and don't make messes in the house.
I get a little nervous around loud brash humans and want to hide in my crate. Mostly I just love people especially those who are respectful and calm.

Hey it’s me! Kat Von D! I am an adorable 9-month-old Blue Heeler mix. I am a petite little lady, weighing in at 26 pounds and I probably won’t get a lot bigger. I have cute whiskers and the softest coat! I am all personality, and I have the sweetest demeanor. I am shy at first, I sat in my foster mom’s lap for a long time when she first brought me home from the shelter, I feel comfortable and safe with a lot of people. Now that I am familiar with my foster home, I am a little firecracker! I make everyone laugh with my silly antics. As you can see by my pictures, I am one of those dogs that c***s her head sideways when I hear any kind of curious sound.
When I first met my foster dog siblings, I was intimidated and then soon became indifferent towards them. After a few days, my confidence and personality started shining through and now I want to play! I could wrestle my foster sister for hours. I am an energetic girl who could hike, bike, run, and take on the world with you all day! I will settle down though and sleep in my crate, especially at night. Sometimes if a lot is going on in other parts of the house, I let out a quiet whine, because I want in on the action! But when everyone in the house goes to bed for the night, I too am out like a light.
If there is one thing you should know about me, it’s how smart I am! My foster mom has easily taught me to use a doggy door, sit, to run into my crate with a verbal command, and I am getting so good at being patient and waiting as she opens my crate door. I don’t run out until I get an “okay!” As you may also know about herding breeds, I can be a little “mouthy”. This is most certainly not meant with aggressive intent. When my foster mom gets home from work, I am so excited to see her that I like to gently put my mouth all over her hands, this is how I show my love and affection when I am really excited! So far, I haven’t tried to herd any of my foster humans around like livestock. I would love any kid but would be best in a home with respectful kids over the age of 8. I could potentially mistake those smaller kids as sheep with the way they run around.
For me to be successful in my future home I need a good routine and to be a part of a family that has solid rules and expectations of me. I go on a nightly walk with my foster family and am so light and polite on the leash! My potty training is perfect when I am on a potty schedule. I am a great girl in the car! I’m a curious and I like to stare out the window and after a while I just curl up and go to sleep, not making a peep. I am highly food motivated! I can be more standoffish with men in the beginning but give me a day or two and I will be your best pal! Sitting on your feet while you do the dishes.

Hey, ya'll! My name is Raelynn and I am an 8lb, 1 year old maltese mix.
I am SO happy to be here. Rescue Rovers and my foster mom have treated me so nice and I feel so much better now! Check out my before and after pics...I was such a mess when I got here!
Now though, I'm a real beauty queen 👑

I am the sweetest, most loving little girl. All I want is to be your baby. I love to snuggle, I love to be carried around. If you are looking for a constant companion, I am your girl! I am great in the car and would be happy to go everywhere with you!
I will stay in my crate if you make me, but I don't like it. Especially if you are home, I just REALLY want to be with you, and I will make the noise to let you know! It's possible I have some trauma from my obvious neglect, and I'm working past it, but I may never like being crated. Luckily, I am a good girl when I'm not in my crate, so you can leave me out. I am *almost* completely potty trained, too.

I am a very chill little girl with moderate energy. I'm happy to just hang out. But I do like to play with my dog friends, and I do get some (adorable) zoomies at times! Speaking of dog friends, I like them all!

Hi, new bestie! My name is Bounty Hunter and I can't wait to love you!

I am a 2 year old, 16lb poodle boy. I have that quintessential (non-shedding) fluffy, white poodle coat and I am VERY handsome! Some people say I look like a teddy bear and I don't mind that at all! I'd be happy to be your teddy bear - I love snuggles and I even use my arms to wrap around your neck when you carry me. I am a very sweet and loving boy.

I get along well with all my dog friends, too. I live with a bunch of friends in my foster home and I think they're all great.

Did you know that poodles are super smart and great at lots of things? I feel like the only press we get is about our shed-free coats, but there's a lot more to my breed! For instance, we are known to excel at a bunch of sports - including retriever hunt tests. Me...I think I could ace those tests. Foster mom says my name really fits me, because I love to "hunt". I will hunt (chase) my friends, and toys (see me looking under the dog cot to hunt for toys!) and who knows what else!
I am such a fun and happy boy - foster mom says I have a fabulous temperament. I haven't lived with kids, but we think I would probably be fine with nice kids of any age.

Hello friends, my name is Honey B, not to brag but, I’m a delight! I’m 1 year old and still full of playful puppy energy! I’m a Collie mix and weigh around 75lbs, I’m a big girl but don’t let that sway you away, I’m very gentle. If you feed me a treat, I'll take it from you with a whisper soft mouth and I’m careful around children. I have a foster sister who is a 3-year-old child and we get along great! She adores me because I enjoy sitting beside her while she colors or reads me stories. She also likes me to chase her and I’m careful not to get too excited or jump on her.

In addition to being gentle, my house manners are likely to impress you. I am potty trained, and I’m a tranquil girl, if I do bark at something, a gentle reminder will get me quiet again. When my energy needs are met with a long walk or trip to the park, I’ll lay around quietly or nap. I enjoy napping in my crate and sleep soundly all night in there. I’m also not much of a chewer. I sometimes sneak away with my foster sister’s stuffed toys, but my foster mom says “Leave it” or “Bring it here” and I do just that! I’ve been working hard on my manners and listening skills with my foster family and made tremendous progress! I would love for my new forever family to help me continue my training.

My foster mom has been driving me to various places to practice my manners in new environments. I’m fantastic in the car, I just lay there and wait quietly till we get where we are going. My walking skills have greatly improved since I’ve been going out with my foster mom! I don’t pull at all anymore and if I see a cat on my walk, I can keep my cool. That said, I do not like them! So I would not want to live with a cat. Other dogs do excite me because I’m a fun-loving girl. I do play well with other dogs for the most part, I just need supervision because if someone rubs me the wrong way, I can get a little grumpy, so just supervise playtime and remind me to take self-care breaks so I can keep playing nice. It’s probably best if I’m the only dog in the house.

Hello, I am Miss Marlee! I am a three-year-old female mini-doodle and I am looking for my forever home.
I am hoping for a family who will take me on walks and car rides and who will enjoy spending time with me. I would love a family who will throw the ball for me! I love to run after balls…but I am still working on the bringing them back part, haha!

I am very well-mannered in the house and in the yard. I don’t dig or make messes. I am potty trained and crate trained.

I am looking for a family without kids, preferably. If there are children, they should be at least 14 years old.
I get really excited for treats and need to be reminded to be soft when I take them. I would benefit from additional training – I am very smart and my brain would love the opportunity to show off!

There’s nothing I love more than curling up next to you—especially if we’re watching some football or just hanging out while you work from home. Sunny Jack is the name and I am looking for a forever home where I can make new friends! I look like a little Labrador, mixed with a few other breeds to give me extra personality! I weigh about 35 lbs so I am the perfect size and I am almost 2 years old. There is still a bit of puppy in me so I will need you to have a little patience while I learn how to be a good boy, I love to run and play with other dogs. I play very nicely with everyone I've met so far, big or little.
Even though I like to play, I also settle down very nicely in the house. I am crate trained and house broken, and sleep quietly through the night. Sometimes I even put myself to bed! I am calm and quiet and love to be petted. Once I get to know you I will come and ask for love :)
I am a little nervous around new people and in new situations, but if you will be calm and patient with me I will soon be just fine. About Me:
Hello there! I’m Hemi, a lovable 100-pound bundle of joy with a heart as big as I am. At just 2 years old, I’m already a seasoned pro at being a gentle giant. I’m great with kids and cats, making me an ideal companion for families of all shapes and sizes.
I have a mellow demeanor and am incredibly well-behaved in the house. I’m fully house-trained and love nothing more than lounging around comfortably, with the occasional playful romp to keep things exciting. My large frame might make me look imposing, but I promise you, I’m a sweet and calm buddy who will be a loving addition to your home.
My foster mom thinks I may have some sort of guardian breed in me because I can guard my spaces. This doesn’t come out aggressively, but if I don’t know you, I may try to keep you out of certain areas with my large size. I also do not like being put into ‘corners’. So I do not want to be in a kennel. Luckily, I behave perfectly in the house so there haven’t been issues with that. I also do well on tethers and do best on a halti lead.
I enjoy playing with other dogs, but between my size and some guarding tendencies, my foster mom advises a neutral ground when meeting others. I can get really excited to see other dogs, so a strong and tall privacy fence would be necessary for us to be happy in the yard.

What I’m Looking For:
I’m searching for a loving home who can appreciate my gentle nature and is ready to offer a comfy spot where I can relax and feel at home. Whether you have kids who need a furry friend or cats who need a big, friendly companion, I’m the perfect match. I’m also more than happy to join you on leisurely strolls or just chill with you on the couch. I’ll listen to even the smallest of family. However, I’ll admit that when I choose to be stubborn, I’m quite large and realize that I’m stronger than most. So I really need a strong leader that understands how to handle me in those situations.

Despite my size, I’m a big fan of belly rubs and will reward you with affectionate snuggles and a wagging tail. My calm and easy-going personality will bring a sense of peace and joy to your home. Hi there, my name is Merlin's Moment and I am a 1 year old, 8lb chihuahua. I am a very sweet little man, looking for a patient home with a doggy friend (or two!)
I am still quite shy with people, though I am coming out of my shell more every day and foster mom says I am ready to find my people. I am very sweet, I would never bite you - I'm just still very unsure of what people want from me. I think I must have spent very little time around humans, and my first instinct is still to run away and hide. A secure yard and home will be very important for me in my forever home, so I can stay safe.
What I *really* love are my doggy friends! Having a pack to hang out and play with is very important for me! I learn so much from my pack, and they make me feel so much more comfortable! I'm happy to hang out with dogs of any age or size, as long as they will be nice to me! I am very happy to hang out in my crate and I am almost completely potty trained (no accidents lately!) though foster mom says a belly band is still a good idea for the first few days, since getting used to a new home can be rough! I am hoping a very nice, patient and loving family will decide I'm the pup they are looking for.

I am almost 5 years old, listed as a lab mix. I weigh about 65 pounds.
I am kennel trained, potty trained and good with cats and dogs.
I would do great in a home with another dog if the energy is not too high.

My previous owners were unable to keep me due to personal reasons, so I am looking for a new forever home. I have a lot to give! I am a mellow girl that absolutely loves to be right next to you, I am a perfect couch cuddler or potato, whichever fits. I have a wiggly butt when I am excited, and I love to give soft nibble kisses. My mommy says that I am a lover, if she could keep me she would. Hi, I'm Tashah! I love to play and snuggle. Everyone says my long hair is so pretty and soft - and (bonus!) I don't shed much! But I did come from a really bad situation where they were not nice to me at all...
Since I have been with my foster dad, things are sooooo much better. I am playing with all the dogs, snuggling with my foster dad and just very happy again! I still need to gain some weight, I didn't get enough to eat - but I'm eating really well now!

I am nearly 2 years old. I'm a tiny little man, weighing in at 6.8lbs! (I am a skinny little guy and could stand to gain a little weight.) BUT what I lack in stature, I make up in attitude! I have ALL the chihuahua personality. At home, I am the funnest, happiest little man! I love my doggy friends, I love the toys, I love to zoom and zoom around the house and yard. Inari is more than happy to go on long walks and hikes with you - keep you active and healthy, and improve your mental health (dogs do that, you know!) He is a young guy at just over a year old and about 75lbs. Nearly GoT sized! Inari is a husky mix, but he doesn't do most of the naughty husky things that others do. No fence jumping, digging, or running away. He *does* like to sing the song of his husky peeps at times, tho, so he wouldn't be a great apartment dwelling dog. Inari has been staying with a dog trainer for a couple of months to work on his socialization with other dogs, his manners, and his obedience skills. (lucky guy!!) He is such a smart boy that is very excited to learn with you. We have been introducing the ecollar to him to solidify his recall and he is loving it and doing so well. He is also fully house trained and great in his crate. He has pretty good house manners and loves to hang out with his people and chew on a bone. Inari is great with people, including kids, and most other dogs. He does the best with playful female dogs. He wants to be the only big handsome boy in the area, so he struggles with some other male dogs. Rescue Rovers

Rescue Rovers saves dogs from high kill shelters in Utah and surrounding areas. Those dogs are placed in loving foster homes while they are vetted (at a minimum, each dog is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and microchipped before going home, some dogs have more extensive medical needs) and taught to be a pet! When dogs are ready to find their forever home we begin to market them. We take multiple applications for each dog and work hard to find the perfect family for every pup!
