MEET KENNY

You may recall that my last Tale of Tails© newsletter was about my end of life service for pets. This topic was timely for Kenny, a dog living in the United Kingdom, and his human, Sarah. Two days after that newsletter, I received an email from Sarah asking for help with Kenny. She had been referred to me by her sister who received my newsletter.

Sarah said that Kenny was in extremely rough shape and that she had an in-home euthanasia appointment for him in five days. As anyone who has ever contemplated this decision can imagine, she was distraught about the situation. She asked me to find out how he was feeling and whether he was ready to leave.

When I reached out to Kenny, he was in a lot of pain but agreed to work with me in spite of that. An intuitive body scan soon explained his pain. I was guided that he had malignancy throughout his body. It had started in his brain and was impacting most of his vital organs. With his permission, Kenny was connected to an angel who began sending him a continuous flow of healing energy. The angel was asked to provide pain relief, to remove all malignancy and to stop it from spreading. Also to provide healing energy for Kenny to use as he chose.

Once Kenny's pain was under control, I had a conversation with him about end of life. He was very aware that he was dying and, in fact, after being in extreme pain for a long time, really wanted help stopping his body.

This message was relayed to his human, Sarah. I recommended waiting for a final decision until Kenny had been without pain for awhile. So we waited.

The next day, I reached out to Kenny. At that time, he said he was without pain and he was reversing his earlier desire to have help stopping his body. "I want to explain to my mother what's going on with me. First of all, I'm very happy to be out of pain. But I don't know if that means that I'm not close to dying. When I said I didn't want help stopping the body, it really meant that I prefer to let my body stop on its own. It's so freeing to be able to want that. I believe that I can live for quite a while now as long as the pain is gone...for now I wanted you to know that it isn't that I'm going to go on living but rather that I want to choose my own path to dying."

Kenny's position has never wavered from that. His appointment for euthanasia was cancelled. Kenny has been mostly resting in the green room, with occasional periods of energy, even including walks and socializing with neighborhood dogs. His physical condition improved with a shiny coat, and his eye also, which had been causing him pain with an ulcer, healed very quickly.

Nearly a month later and Kenny, Sarah and his dog sister, Coco, are all aware that this story is not over. They are learning to live minute-to-minute, embracing this unexpected experience and sharing love with each other.

END OF LIFE SERVICES

If you believe your pet is nearing the end of their life or if you wish to prepare for it, you may want to know what your pet desires in this regard. I am trained and experienced in animal hospice and can explain options to you and your pet. I can also facilitate communication between you and your pet during this tough process.

Combined with the communication aspect of this process, I will be honored to provide physical comfort for your beloved pet. While end of life services are available separately, I strongly encourage using a Celestine Surveillance© angel for alleviating any pain, staying in touch with your pet's desires and assisting through the end of life transition. TALES OF TAILS #11

WHAT'S IN A NAME REVISITED

I recently was talking with a woman who was hoping to adopt a puppy from the humane society. She showed me a picture and as she did the puppy reached out telepathically to me. He told me his name and that he wanted to be called that name. I shared this with the woman and she seemed excited about knowing this. Soon the adoption worked out and I learned that she called the puppy a different name. I don't know why. I checked in with the puppy - he likes his family and his new life. But says it would be even better if they called him by his real name. This pup's reaction inspired me to make Sacred Names the topic of this newsletter.

What are Sacred Names? It is my understanding that each soul comes to this world with a name they have chosen for themselves. I've never met a non-human animal that doesn't know this name but I have met some who hold it so sacred that it's secret. Others will share it. And most of those would like to be known by that name.

Today I'm going to share some stories about Sacred Names. And offer you a special opportunity to see if your furry friends will share theirs. I've shared on this topic before but hopefully there will be interest again.

JOMO

In October of 2012 I found a cat in my neighborhood who had clearly been on her own for a long time. She was ready to come home with me and quickly set herself up in my garage. This was the best solution I could come to because my cat allotment was full. I took her to the vet where they brought her up to date healthwise as much as possible. Her age was estimated at 14. There were no means of identifying her.

I immediately began calling her Jomo. At that time I didn't know about Sacred Names so wasn't really even sure why I called her that. I did look up the meaning of the word "jomo" and found this wonderful one: "anything and everything at the same time and at all times".

With winter approaching it became important to get Jomo out of my garage and find her a new home. One of my cat sitting clients reached out to me to adopt her. This couple was known to me to be loving and often sought out older needy cats to adopt. So Jomo went home!

I told my clients what I had been calling her but they preferred a different name. So they started calling this cat by that name,. She seemed aloof and refused to eat. It was only after they switched back to calling her "Jomo" that she immediately warned up and began to eat. She lived a happy life with them for two more years.

This was the first time I became really aware of the importance of Sacred Names, but it was by no means the last.

A DOG LOOKING FOR HIS NAME

Years ago, I worked with a dog who had been through a string of foster homes. None of those worked out because of his uncooperative attitude. My client had him for a trial weekend to see if she could help him. She hired me to talk to him and see if I could help. During the course of our chat, I asked him how he liked the name he was called. He said it was terrible and told me what he wanted to be called. When I reported this to my client, she called him that name. She said his face lit up and his attitude totally changed. The dog told me that it was like someone really saw him and knew him for the first time ever.

SHELLEY

My clients have a dog they took in knowing that she had been in a home where first her mama human passed, then her daddy human and then her sibling dog. After my clients took her in, she was a runner and whenever she had the opportunity to take off she would do so.

Over the course of 3 days, this dog they called Gracie first refused to chat with me, then admitted she was running to try to find her family and finally grieved when she was told that they had passed. When she was ready to really talk, she was surprised and pleased that my clients intended to give her a forever home. And when I asked her if she liked her name "Gracie", she said she didn't like it at all. Her real name is Shelley (specific spelling) and she wanted to be called that. As soon as her new family heard, they began calling her Shelley, stating it was good to have a new name for a new life. They report now that she has totally changed and has not tried running at all. She is super loving and has been content to stay with them over a year.

ALBERT - as told by his Humans

When Albert, one of our cats, came to us at 10 years old, his name was Bibi. He clearly had experienced trauma - both physical and emotional. He was adopted by someone else 5 years before we got him, and named Bibi with that adoption. He was abused and abandoned during that time.
I always knew that his name wasn't Bibi; it just didn't fit him. I reached out to Grace to see if she could provide any input. He told Grace that his name is Albert. I knew immediately that Albert was his true name as he is a very dignified cat. When I asked him if his name was Albert, he looked me straight in the eyes and answered with a strong "yes" meow. With finding his true name, he became a different cat! He was much more confident. It was like he was able to release the trauma associated with "Bibi."

Since then, he has become much more confident and trusting. He used to have one meow that was very loud - like he wasn't being heard. He now has many different meows - all are much more quiet, with different inflections.

TRUTH TELLERS

There are so many things I adore about critters. One of my favorite things is that, unlike some humans, I can rely on them to be honest. If a cat or dog does something they could get in trouble for, they will confess without hesitation. For instance, I've known many dogs and cats who mess with each other's healing angel connections. (This is possible because they can see the angel energy connections.) Disrupting those connections happens for a variety of reasons, but the culprits always readily admit it. Another common occurrence is if there is a question about inappropriate behavior or who did what, the answers are honest.

If their honesty isn't readily apparent, I've learned that it is likely a communication problem - for instance, I ask the wrong questions or misinterpret their answers. Or there may be other reasons. For instance, the old horse I've shared about before. Her human was sure that she was lying about her life. It turned out that she was senile and truly had no memories of her earlier life. Memory loss is not uncommon with age so if answers become inconsistent or appear to be lies, I will look for that as an underlying cause.

I have experienced very few exceptions. The underlying reasons for them are heartwarming. The first was from a group of brother cats. Each of the four individually accepted responsibility for inappropriate pooping, when in reality it was their little sister with mobility issues that had been responsible. What sweet brothers!

Another exception was a dog who refused to talk about an issue because he felt like he was calling his human a liar. The issue was that when she would leave him, she would say she'd be right back, regardless of the length of time she was gone. Once he finally talked about it, the human began to be more specific and the dog experienced much less separation anxiety.

There are, of course, those who don't wish to chat at all or decline to share about their earlier lives. I will always honor those feelings and not try and push. For those who don't wish to chat, I can usually get them to agree to accept help with pain. So I do the intuitive body scan and angel connection, without the usual chat.

Working with critters is an enriching journey! And seeing their willingness to be honest is especially rewarding. My special this month will give you an extra special way to experience your furry friend's honesty.

CELEBRATING CATS

We recently moved from our motorhome into an apartment. Our cat, Uncle Ralf, has blossomed in our new home. He has become more curious, more playful and definitely more cuddly. Such an amazing transformation from the guy who was found on the streets in Gulfport Mississippi five years ago. We are still in mourning for Murphy, our French bulldog - Ralf's companionship helps.

I am pleased and intrigued with Uncle Ralf's growth. I am reminded of the magic and mystery of cats. In this issue of Tales of Tails©, I will share some amazing tales about cats! I dedicate this newsletter to my beloved Uncle Ralf.

CAT HEROES IN COMBAT

Yes, cats have served in combat! Although, not in any official capacities like horses, dogs, or mules, cats often have had a place on ships, in barracks, and as companions for those serving in the military. Unofficially, cats were often welcomed aboard ships to help with rodent control and similarly in barracks and military field offices. A good ratter could help preserve precious food stores, help in preventing the spread of diseases, and keep rats or mice from chewing through ropes and wiring. Many humans who served in combat have been most familiar with cats that served as mascots and companions.

PERSONAL CAT HEROES

TOJI - Years ago, my cat Toji saved myself and 2 roommates from a house fire. He repeatedly pestered me until I woke up to find a smoke-filled room. The fire was in the basement. I woke my roommates up and we three fled to safety. I was distraught as there was no sign of Toji until the next day, when this hero was found safely in the upper part of the house.

MOSHA - While Mosha didn't do one spectacular life-saving act like Toji, she was my hero every day. She was very in tune with me and my emotions. On days when I was upset or hurting, she would come and lay near my head and comfort me. She lived through the death of my mother with me and became a surrogate mama of sorts. My personal hero!

PEARL - Pearl came to me with her brother Clyde when they were about 6 months old. On the surface, she appeared to be a typical muted torte, with plenty of tortitude and diva behavior. But she was much more than that - she was an intentional healer. It started when I was working remotely sending healing to a kitten. Pearl grabbed at my legs for attention to let me know she wanted to help. I invited her to add her energy to mine and we worked together on that kitten. This was the beginning of her healing work. At first, she would only work with cats or kittens and would decline helping others. But after a while she added dogs to her list. She eventually included even humans to those she would help with.

Pearl's energy was palpable and I welcomed her to send healing whenever she chose to join in. She even convinced some of my other cats to help from time to time. I didn't keep track of the exact number of souls she assisted over the years. But there were many. She was a hero to me and for many!

Meet sweet Eddie, a 15 year old client dog, who has been connected to an angel for awhile. The angel has kept him pain free and healthy. So it was a surprise one day when his human found him unable to use his back legs. She reached out to me and also rushed him to a veterinarian. The vet was unable to find any issues and even intimated that my client may need to euthanize Eddie if he can't do his potty functions.

After I received this information from my client, I did a complete body scan and found a pinched nerve was causing this malfunction. I requested Eddie's angel fix the nerve and heal whatever was needed. Within 2 days, his body was functioning and he was able to stand with assistance. Within a week, he was fully functioning and back to his sweet self. His human and I agree that this was a combination of the angelic assistance and Eddie's will to live. He told me at the outset that he wasn't ready to go yet.

Today Eddie is well and thriving. And as for me, it is an honor to have facilitated his recovery.

We all come with a sacred name. We humans may not be consciously aware of our "real" names but non-human animals are. Sometimes they want to be called that name, sometimes not and sometimes they keep it secret.

Here are 2 stories - one about the very first time I learned about the importance of those names and the other is recent.
