🐾 Final Week of Pug-A-Thon — Help Us Reach Our Goal!

Pug-A-Thon is in its final week, and there’s still time to help me reach my goal of raising critical funds for Pug Rescue. It’s been a financially tough year — intake has been limited due to a shortage of both funds and foster homes.

Rescue survives because of the kindness and generosity of people like you.

To honor that, I’m sharing a look back at some of our foster pugs through the years. For this post, I chose their very first photo in rescue — often their intake photo — to show where their journey began. If you’ve been following The Family Fuzz for a while, some of these faces may look familiar… or maybe not, because so many of these dogs experienced incredible transformations while in rescue.

We've been fostering Ichi for around a week now. He is only one year old and doing really well with his house training. He is a sweet little boy and desperately just wants love. We are working with him to teach him not to jump on people and to sit and wait nicely for pets. He just needs a little time and patience, and he will get there.

He's been through a lot — from coming from the shelter with his eye injury, to his medical journey of healing once in rescue, and now being in a foster home. We have no idea where he came from prior to the shelter, but we've noticed a few abnormalities with the way he walks that will be checked out at his vet appointment on Tuesday. Overall, he seems to be a happy and healthy boy.

I think his heart still needs more healing than anything else.

🎃 Sully Update 🎃

First, Happy Halloween from Sully—seen here rocking his Chain Chomp costume from Super Mario World at Pugkin last Saturday!

Second (and most importantly): Sully’s biopsy results are in—and he is cancer free!

His histopathology report confirmed a benign perianal adenoma, which means no malignancy and no further concern at this time.

Yay! That’s a real delight and a huge relief for everyone who’s been cheering him on.

Sully is back home and doing great! We’re still waiting on the histopathology results, which should come in sometime next week. In the meantime, check out this adorable overnight bag — one of the vet techs made it with custom artwork of Sully, and all of his amazing techs signed it. Such a thoughtful and sweet gesture! Huge thanks to the incredible CSRs, technicians, and doctors for the outstanding care they gave him.
