I love how all my current dogs and fosters love to cuddle with one another. I feel like they have maybe learned it from one another to some extent as years ago my previous dogs would rarely if ever cuddle. I'm trying to think which dog started it, possibly Bravo.

UPDATE FOUND- BOTH DOGS SAFE AND HOME

Both of these boys are missing in the Dallas Area 75228 zip code. Male collie and male German Shepherd mix. Hopefully together. They got out at approximately 4pm today 11/25/23. The collie is my previous foster boy, Domino, and his mom is very worried. Please share to help her boys come home.

This holiday season if you are considering getting a pet please consider the following:

• Dogs and cats are a 15-20 year commitment on average. Don't get a pet if you don't have a plan to be able to care for them for as long as they live.

• Puppy Mill exists because the public is funding them. Buying a puppy from a bad situation is not saving them. It is funding animal abuse.

• Adopting from a shelter or rescue saves animals lives. You can find gorgeous, healthy, and even purebred pets from shelters and rescues.

• Pets from rescues often come fully vetted. Vet care, food, toys, supplies, all add up as well. • Be a responsible pet owner. Spay and neuter your pet. Microchip your pet.

• Depending on the shelter or rescue you may be able to find more details about a pet's temperament and training allowing for a potentially better match for your home. This is especially true of pets living in foster homes who live with families experienced with pet behavior and training.

• Shelters and rescues across the country are at critical capacity. "Between 4,000 and 10,000 animals are EUTHANIZED DAILY in shelters. Edgar came to us as a foster in December of 2021. It did not take us long to realize the treasure he was and we adopted him. Of all the amazing and wonderful dogs we've loved and fostered over the years. We could not imagine letting go of this sweet 13.5 year old "Bug" (Boston/Pug Mix). In December he will be celebrating his 15th birthday. When you adopt a senior dog, you not only change their life, their story, but yours as well. Please consider adopting a senior pet. Introducing our new foster boy, Dillon. This sweet boy came to our rescue last month from the shelter with a horribly infected and pr*****ed eye. Pug Rescue rushed him into surgery and my friend Debbie fostered him through his recovery. Dillon is an absolute love and gets along great with all the dogs. He is around two years old and is getting neutered tomorrow and then he will be officially ready to find his forever home. The pugs had a blast at Pugkin! The pug club was celebrating their 21st year so the theme was the 21st amendment, the repeal of prohibition. In 1933 Busch JR gave the clydesdales to Busch SR in celebration of the repeal of prohibition of beer. So our grumble went as the Budweiser wagon complete with two adorable clydesdales and two handsome drivers. Or should we say Pugweiser?

Beans is happy and "full of beans" this morning because The Family Fuzz reached their donation goal for this year's Pug-A-Thon Fundraiser. Yay!! Thank you so much to everyone who donated! Rescue depends on the kindness and generosity of people like you. I also want to thank everyone who shows their support of rescue by liking, following, and sharing our page and posts. Wonderful news! Our sweet foster Boris has officially found his forever home. After everything he went through he finally has his happily ever after with his new dad and collie sister Matilda aka "Tilly" for short. I love how their names kind of go together and how gorgeous they look together. His new dad said that Boris's new name is officially Boris the Lionheart. How perfect.

Happy Halloween! We have some doggy models trying on some costumes that were donated to Pug Rescue of Austin. The annual Pugkin Festival was postponed to November 11th. These costumes will be available for any PRA foster that wants to dress up! My pugs have top secret special costumes planned that you will have to wait to see. In the meantime, please vote on who you think wore it better. The pugs or the collies?

Please read. This is my sweet foster boy, Beans. He came to rescue in February of this year with Jelly who is also pictured. Both of them are still with me. Jelly is quite a bit younger and much healthier and has had a few potential adopters interested in her but is still waiting for her forever home and will most likely find it sooner or later. Beans on the other hand has diabetes and requires extensive medical care making him far less likely to be adopted, especially since he's between 14-15 years old. But that's okay if he's not adopted, because we wholeheartedly love him and thanks to Pug Rescue of Austin he is getting the best possible medical care. I'm not going to sugar coat it, this sweet boy is expensive. It is pretty common for rescues to need vaccines, neutering, dentals with extractions when they come to rescue but Beans has also needed lots of diagnostics, blood work, multiple ultrasounds, expensive insulin and monitoring devices to regulate his diabetes. He's been to three vet clinics including an internal med specialist to make sure he has the care he needs to live his best life. Most days he wakes up and he's happy and full of energy and we laugh and say he's full of beans. On the days he doesn't feel quite so well and he's a little bit down, we call them his no beans days. Thankfully, he's usually full of beans! But the reality is we need help to keep him full of beans. I don't know exactly how much the rescue has spent on his care in the past 8 months but I do know that it is well over 5k. That's why when Pug Rescue asked everyone's help during this year's Pug-a-thon to help raise vital funds to ensure that no pug is left behind I signed up "The Family Fuzz". This my last post for Pug-a-thon this year. Please donate, share, or help this amazing non-profit if you can. Every cent goes to the dogs. Let's keep Beans full of beans as long as we can. That's not our new pond Nova is overlooking. That's our lawn. Which means I have to spend my morning standing outside and one by one do my best to convince eight dogs to go potty outside in the rain. So, far I've convinced three. We will need to go out for round two before I leave for work. Wish me luck!! I need it LOL.

Today is an extra special day because our sweet Boris just left on a trial visit with an amazing human and his gorgeous collie girl Tilly. It took months of healing and lots of special care to get him to this point. We will dearly miss him but we are so excited and happy for him on this next phase of his journey. Please wish him well.

Our sweet silly Sully is living his best life these days. This month he is celebrating his 11th birthday and his 3rd gotcha day with us. Life prior to rescue was a hard life of neglect. When he was rescued his right eye was injured and bulging out of orbit and needed to be surgically removed. He is completely blind in his left eye as well due to past trauma. But thanks to Pug Rescue of Austin, this sweet boy got all the medical care he needed to get him started on a better life. For Sully's birthday this year he raising funds for Pug Rescue of Austin who is in desperate need of help to continue their life saving mission of "no pug left behind". No donation is too small, every dollar helps. Thank you.

Happy National Pug Day! Sully, Edgar, Jelly, and Jake had fun at yesterday's pug party at the Watering Bowl hanging out with other PRA alums and a couple adorable adoptable pooches. Shhhhhh nobody tell Jake that he's a Havanese, he has no idea that he's not a pug.
