I prefer to think of mine as “horses in a pony sized suit” but anyway you want to call it, riding a smaller equine can have its benefits🤩 (in the hay bill alone)

Riding ponies aren't just for kids — they can be the perfect match for some adult riders as well. Learn from four adult pony riders.

Happy International Womens Day!

As a woman owned/managed business we strive to support other women to achieve their dreams, find joy with their horses and support each other. Thankful to be part of a community that values hardwork and friendship both human & equine.

Introducing the newest member of AK Ice Farm, Kolfinna fra Selfossi brought us a Chestnut Filly on Thursday morning. Both mom & filly and doing well. The time of year was not our first choice but the match was desired, she is by Ari from Arctic Arrow, a son of Seiður fra Flugumýri II. We are thankful for a heated barn and healthy horses 😍.

A little Icelandic Culture for your Tuesday :)

Stekkjastaur, known as Sheep-Cote Clod, is the first Yule Lad descending from the mountains. 🐑🐏🥛🍼 With a mischievous heart, he aimed to harass the sheep, craving milk from the ewes. Yet, his peg legs proved to be a hindrance.

Sheep-Cote Clod, rigid and tall,
First of the Yule Lads to make his call.
Into the sheepfold, he stealthily crept,
Among the unsuspecting sheep, he deftly stepped.

Longing to suckle the ewes at his leisure,
His presence caused them much displeasure.
For with peg legs awkward and unsteady,
His milk-thieving plans didn't go quite as heady.
