SOLD to the best youth home ☺️

LB is for sale! My dream for him is to go to a handy youth but he would be suitable for anyone.
He is 15.2hh 2018 AQHA gelding. LB has been rode inside and outside, been to shows, worked cattle, goes through water, started on the barrel pattern. He does leg yields, shoulder in, haunches in, simple changes, turn on the forehand and quarters. He’s not spooky, and has no vices. He is excellent to catch, tie, worm, trim, shoe.
He lives on a working cattle farm, so has been exposed to many things, like checking cattle, tractors, quads, etc . I ride by myself about 99% of the time, so he is very used to riding out alone and isn’t herdbound in the slightest.
He is superstakes and BEI eligible.
He has been rode throughout the winter, and is rode consistently right now. He is good with time off. He’s been rode a lot, and is very broke.
He is just a real good guy.
He does have a cosmetic blemish on his left hock, however he is completely sound and is evidenced by the veterinarian letter included in the pictures.

Spring is here and summer is quickly following! and with summer on its way, that obviously means it’s time for another horse.

This is a 2yr old AQHA gelding out of MP Hot Hayday, which means he has a ton of incentives for barrels and roping! Royal crown Canada, WF and BEI in Canada and a host of incentives in the states , if that tickles your fancy.

He is not yet started, but if someone wants 30 or so days put on him, I can do that for the price of feed.

He’s great to catch (very personable) , good to trim, worm, load. He’s a solid citizen , about 14hh now and growing.

This is Rip!

He is a welsh pony , was supposed to be registered but is selling as grade.

He’s 13.1hh and 6.5yr old. His owner is a vet and she has had him since a weanling. His feet have just been done, as well as UTD on teeth and vaccines.
She is selling because she’s a very busy vet and has no time.

She has taken him in a few horsemanship clinics , trail riding and obstacles including stairs and tires.

He is good with his feet, good to load. He can be a pain to catch, on occasion. He is a super friendly dude though, and will opt to hang with you after being worked than you go back to his friends.

He is green though, not a beginner pony, but a handy kid could definitely take this pony and do some cool things with him - he would be a good little English pony. While green, he has no buck.

He has a solid walk and trot , canter is coming.

She’s extremely well started, but not yet on the pattern, as time goes on I’ll start to play with that.
She has w/t/l, sidepass, leg yield at w/t, haunches in at w/t, counter bend, turn on the forehand and haunch, neck reins at the w/t, slows and stops off the seat, so she will be easy to put on the pattern, if she goes before then. She’s fast 💨 too .
No vices, easy to catch, worm, load, trim.
Had her teeth done last spring, gets body work done when necessary.
She lives on a working farm so has been exposed to a lot including cattle and machinery.
She’s been rode and hauled to indoor arenas as well.
She’s rides out by herself , not herdbound at all.
She would be suitable for a confident youth.

Happy Tuesday !

Do you have a horse that maybe doesn’t love plastic/is a bit touchy? This c**t of mine is like that, and after a fair amount of work with the plastic, I’ve also started to feed him his grain on top of the plastic. It’s a good way to get them even more used to stuff. I’m not wanting him to be dull and dead, but to think about things before he reacts, which will hopefully keep our domestic horses safe. For example- if they get caught up in something, if they’ve been taught to think, the vet bill may be much less if they don’t try to rip off a leg from panic.

What a beautiful evening to work horses.

My babies (three year olds) are just tripping along. It’s extremely slow , even for me, but gosh are they solid babies. And you just can’t put that solid foundation on them in 30 days.

It’s been a super busy summer thus far with not much for horse time, but this little guy, LB (short for Little Bay) is quite the guy. I was riding him in March but then he started acting weird, tripping a vast amount and unable to figure out his leads. I got him checked out by the chiro and such but I was thinking this was a mental thing for him. So I took a step back and went back to groundwork without a saddle. I got him to the point where he could stretch down in the walk on the ground, then the trot, then the canter. And then in the canter he’s able to hold it now, as well as stretch down which is something he hadn’t been able to do. Then I spent time working on getting him better with the saddle, again.
This is stuff you could push past, but since he’s mine and I have the luxury of time, I went back and spent April, may, June and the first bit of July doing groundwork again.
And he’s so much better now, to ride. He is able to stretch down in the walk and is generally more relaxed, and he has the tendency to be anxious but his anxiety, he internalizes it so one has to always be aware of him and how he is feeling.

So the point of my long story is take the time it takes. That’s hard, especially when you have goals to make with your horse, or maybe they have to work for a living but I think if I had pushed through it , we would have issues in the long run and he’s such a cool little man that to have issues that are avoidable is a shame.
