Spotting a tick on your pet can be worrying and confusing. These pesky parasites can be very dangerous, so it’s important to learn how to handle them:

• Safely remove the tick from your pet with a tick remover. Accidentally leaving the head or mouthpart behind could cause discomfort or infection.

• Don’t try to remove a tick with rubbing alcohol, by pulling or squeezing, freezing, burning or using tweezers.

• Stay on top of FRONTLINE® treatment every 4 weeks to help keep your pet safe from ticks and fleas.

Ticks aren’t just a problem for dogs – cats can get them too. To spot one, check spots such as their head, ears and legs. Run your fingers through your cat’s coat and check for any small bumps. If you find a tick, contact your vet or speak to a Suitably Qualified Person (SQP), which can be found in most pet stores. #petparentclub
