Great show for my paints today! My first RB with my paints and there were 70 in the class 🌻

Judge In first show really looked at Polly, my partridge for reserve featherleg, he went with a different bird, but it was deserving and I was happy to see her carefully considered 😊🌻

Great day showing at Eastern Iowa Poultry Association, great part was meeting new people and I am most excited about having 2 new members join ASBC and 2 others renew their membership 😊🌻

I created awards for the State show and the best part was a kid who didn’t win anything for his reserve win, but I had awards for that and his mom said it made his day 😊

Wrapping up a great weekend with chicken friends. HUGE congrats to my friend Rolaine Bartness who won best overall at the show yesterday (out of over 700) birds! Finally arrived home after 10PM last night and see that my hens have new ideas on how to travel 🙂

After losing my dear Peck a few weeks ago, I was left with an empty space in the Silkie barn. Last weekend I was lucky enough to welcome this gorgeous boy into my barn from the same amazing breeder who I got Peck from.

Yesterday was a sad day here, lost my most special boy, Peck. He came to me 3 years ago from a (now very good friend) master breeder who shared a couple of his amazing birds with me. Peck earned his name because he actually pecked my friend so hard (when he was getting him out for me) that it made his arm bleed! He got called a name and it stuck ❤️ he never did it again and became the sweetest and most snuggly boy. Made me wish I could breed whites to show, but I just kept him around and enjoyed his funny personality and beautiful appearance ❤️🌻 I’m sure he’ll never be forgotten around here 😊
