I don’t believe in signs all the time but sometimes I do. I was just talking about stopping doing rescue and yesterday I drove a puppy to Rescue Garage and after I dropped the puppy off my serpentine belt broke on the side of the road. I had to get a ride home and go back this morning to get the car to a shop. $600 and some dollars later for two belts on a car I bought just for rescue. So this week alone I got four new tires and two belts so looking at around $1200 spent on the rescue vehicle. I drive way too much and can’t keep doing this with only some donations. Maybe it is a sign.

On Monday I got contacted about a little dog named Jagger that had been missing since Friday. He was seen Monday right down the road from his house. The trap was set and nothing. Moved feeding stations several times and still nothing. He was seen again today and Lori Berroa and I went right out. The owner was out there with us. Jagger was seen by Lori behind a bush up against a house. So the owner went to one end of the bush and I went to the other. Jagger started to back up and I snared him. Stay home this time Jagger. Thank god he is safe.

I was asked on Friday to help with a lost dog that had been adopted from Cape Coral Animal Shelter & Veterinary Clinic 10 days ago. I would keep seeing her walking and running around but there was no way anyone was getting close to her. I set the normal trap on Saturday and she pretty much said no way. So Sunday I set up the enclosure and at 1126 pm Sunday night she went in. Dont do that again little girl

Went back out to where the three dogs and mom cat and two kittens were dumped and was talking to the news. While I was talking to them I saw another kitten, then two then three. Good lord when does it end. All three are safe got them all by hand.

So someone dumped three dogs this afternoon and possibly a cat with kittens. A police officer was able to get one of the dogs and animal control got the kittens. I went out and met Lori Berroa and I was able to trap the other two. Still trying to get the cat to go in. Come on people, don’t dump your dogs. They can’t survive out there.

So on May 21st I got notified of a dog at the Port Sanibel marina that some construction workers were feeding. I offered to bring a trap out, but was told Animal Control was handling it. On June 1, I was notified that the dog was seen sitting on the side of Summerlin between the marina and Bimini bait shack, so Animal Control did not get the dog and I was never notified. Lori Berroa and I went out and walked the area and I decided to put some food and a camera at a spot hoping the dog would find it. It was literally like a needle in a haystack. That night the dog showed up on camera eating the food so the next night we took a trap out. The dog showed up again so for the next four nights we spent the evenings out there. We would leave around six and the dog would come around 7 or 745 when the trap was tied open. So we were pretty sure he was a nighttime dog then on that Wednesday he showed up at 6 PM, we stayed the night again. He never showed up and didn’t come back for several days. I wasn’t sure what happened to him if he was even alive anymore. I did get a large bobcat on my camera so I got super nervous. So one night the dog showed back up. He was now limping. I went the next day and set the 4 foot trap normal. The dog walked in and out of it and It didn’t go off so I went and set the 6 foot trap normal. The 6 foot one goes off very easy. He came and went in it and it didn’t go off either.  He came back twice the next day when there was no food in the trap and it was now tied open. So I went out the next night and he was finally secured with the magnetic beam in place at 10:18 PM. I had told someone it would be about 10:20 PM so I wasn’t too off. Today he went to the vet and he is very underweight, dehydrated, major skin issues and has a dislocated hip which needs FHO surgery. This poor dog. He survived out there and now has this. He will be going to rescue if anyone would like to donate towards his surgery message me privately and I will give you details. I paid for his vetting today but donations would be appreciated for helping with this bill and trapping expenses and also for his surgery.  I got a call today from someone that lives off Burnt Store about a dog that has been showing up in an empty lot near the woods for the last four days. I took a trap out this evening at around 8:45 PM and at 10:21 PM the dog went in. I took the dog back to the ladies garage and scanned it for a chip and a chip showed up. I did a little research and lo and behold, It was this dog. Thank God she’s safe. She’s been missing since April 13th.

I just drove 3 1/2 hours to Winter Garden to help a fellow trapper Lana Smith with a dog she’s been working for a bit. I am glad it worked and I was able to help. Have a great life pup. Been working this little dog in Bradenton for the last few weeks. From what I am told by some people he’s been out for two years others say four years. I have been up there five times in the last two weeks.  I was up there last night til 1230 am and I’m going again tonight. I’m determined to get this little guy off the street if anyone would like to make a donation to help with gas and food that I’m grilling for him every time I go I have Zelle 3134759132 and PayPal, which is [email protected]. Update: had him in the enclosure last night. He was in it for over an hour and a half when I showed up he somehow squeezed through a hole and got out, I was devastated. So today I was on a mission. My friend Chris , who does wildlife trapping stopped by to look at him with me and the bunny ran behind a bush. So I ran home and got my 20 x 20 net and we threw it over the bush and we got him in that net and when we pulled him out of the net the dart had fallen out. It was awesome.

Working on this poor cat Saw him tonight and he didn’t run from me. Just watched me and then came right to the food I put. He will need a place to recover and any help towards vetting would be appreciated

Ok. Number 3 of 3 is caught. Say hi to Cap from Daytona. He has been out since August 18th (212) days. There was a lot of obstacles to say the least with this dog , especially that he was 4 hours away and on very private property but he is safe. I must say it is the first time I have had a cow put their head in my trap.

So I am working three dogs right now. One in Safety Harbor, one in Bradenton and one in Daytona. I went up to Bradenton and Safety Harbor yesterday and set up enclosures at both locations. I said I will come set it when they go in all the way because both of these dogs have been trapped before. So……my life. They both went all the way in minutes apart from each other. Lol. So back I go.

I heard about this dog today being lost. I took a trap out to the area she was seen yesterday and last night. I Just caught her in a house being built. Thank god she is safe. Thanks Lori Berroa for looking for her earlier today. Karson Murray take care of her.

This dog escaped on January 23 in Port Charlotte by the hospital. She was crossing 41 daily for the first few days. She then moved to El Jo Bean and Flamingo area for a while. Then was seen at Miday and O’Hara a few times, then back at Nixon and Flamingo the next day. Now today she was seen at Myakka River coach resort, 10 miles from Ohara and midway and 11 miles from where she originally escaped. This dog traveled some main roads and crossed them several times. Today her running stopped. Welcome home Honey. No more running for you . Lee Lee Liz McCauley
