I’ve been needing to do a cup follow up post for awhile but it’s one of those things I always panic that I will forget someone important so I’ve procrastinated, also who reads these? lol
However, I’ve done some reflecting over the last few days now that we wrapped up the season. I am so unbelievably lucky to have the crew and support that I do. When I started hosting shows my whole goal was to challenge ourselves with progressive course design while also bringing a sense of community back to the events, and my community is the very best. ❤️
First, and most importantly, I so appreciate everyone who attended the Brilliant Dog events this year, who was patient through everything, who chipped in to help. Seeing your posts about your dogs success on those courses and being so grateful for the opportunity makes me so happy.
As always, I have more people to thank than I'll be able to remember but here's my best exhausted attempt. First, thank you to 2024 season judges: Katie Briggs, Mike Murphy, Jan Egil Eide, Mike Wager and Joe Boudreau (also best scoring software and support!) Judging is such a thankless job and I loved working with all of you this year.
Thank you to Monica Watson for being by my side all the time and helping me with whatever I needed before I knew I needed it. (And for trash and for yelling at people 😂) Thank you to Helen Trapp for being the best trial secretary ever, I don't know how I got so lucky to call you my friend but here we are. Thank you to Emily Dammer for also being the best scribe, timer, and anything else we ever needed, but even more importantly for single handedly letting me rely on her for all the sponsors for the cup! I could not do what you did. You’re amazing. Thank you to Carol Perrella, Maite Crespo and Kaylee Folk for your very important role this year. I am so grateful for your friendship and blessed to have your help. Thank you to Eric Bobkowski, Karen Holik for being there for literally everything, such amazing class acts who have the experience to just get things done without needing me to manage it takes so much pressure off me. I love you both and am so grateful. Every single judge told me how great it was to barely need to tweak courses because they are built so well. I will never not be thanking Cody Barden for everything he does for me every year. Finally, because it seems like I will never actually own everything I need to run this thing thank you to Donna Brian, Jaimie Weber and Bridget Thomas for totally being like, you need my stuff? Sure! I love our community and how we all step up to help when it's needed but this goes above and beyond sometimes to loan your personal stuff and it's so appreciated.
There are a bunch more people who just stepped in as needed and I want to thank you individually too but this post would be a novel and I already feel its longer than anyone wants to read but it feels so important to do this, as while I certainly get the credit, it is never me alone making this thing go. I am loving reading all your posts, it really does mean so much to me.
Onto planning for 2025 shows and events. 🎈
