Clanton Alabama! Desperate plea for adoptions!! Shelter is over capacity! Shelters across Alabama are busting at the seams! Owner surrendering animals is off the charts! Shelters and workers cannot keep this up!
Please for the love of God, the universe and the powers of creation, spay or neuter your animals, especially if they live outside!! There are not enough homes, rescues, and kennel space at the shelter for the homeless population of dogs and cats!
🚨URGENT, WE ARE CRITICALLY FULL🚨
In the past 7 days, we have taken in 71 animals!! We have tons of owner surrender requests, calls, emails about stray animals that are just waiting for us to respond.
🔹️If you are thinking about adopting, nows the time. Please ask us who has been here the longest, or who is shutting down in the shelter!
🔹️If you are missing your animal, PLEASE see if they have been brought in. You can stop by OR email us at [email protected] with a photo and contact information.
🔹️If you are a qualified rescue and you are able to help, please email our Director Christina at [email protected].
🔹️We are required by law to hold a stray animal for 7 days to allow an owner to reclaim their pet. So, if every kennel is full of strays and you still choose to surrender your pet(s), please do not yell at the staff for informing you we are past capacity and what the outcome could be for your pet(s). They are always there to wake up early to try to save these animals, they are staying late to save a momma and babies who were thrown out to find for them selves. They are volunteering on their days off because the day before was hard and they can't stand to see the animals not get their extra enrichment just because we filled the building 2x over the day before.
Please keep in mind, we are an Animal Control facility, we are NOT a Humane Society. We can not shut our doors because we are full or have a disease outbreak. We have to keep intaking animals. We have to keep open kennels for our AC officers and we are required by law to hold a stray for 7 days before we can move them. The reality is, we can’t hold every animal for months until we find them a home.
