NEW THIS YEAR - Advanced camp in August! Acceptance to this camp will require a recommendation from your riding instructor.

Each camper is given a horse for the entire week to love and care for as if it were their own. In camp we teach the campers how to ride, groom, bathe, tack, feed, clean, and many more aspects of horse care.  Camp days are filled with hours of riding, a horsemanship lesson, games, crafts, nature hik...

Free choice hay in winter. It’s great for calories and keeping horses warm from the inside out but there’s one big problem.

All day, day after day, your horse stands in this spot gorging himself. That’s all they do. Stand here and eat. No excercise. No foraging. Just stand here. Then they come in and stand in their stall.

So, please do your horse a favor and your barn staff a service by visiting your horse MORE OFTEN during these times and provide appropriate exercise and stimulation.

Colic is prevalent this time of year. No wonder why!

I’ve had a few boarding inquiries lately from people wanting to get an indoor for the winter season. Nearly all mention they’ve heard excellent things, or their vet/farrier recommended us, etc. As soon as I tell them our boarding rates, it goes crickets.

Now I understand cost is the biggest deciding factor, and that boarding costs are pretty close to a car payment or even rent payment depending on where you live. But I’m sure nearly all of us who run a boarding barn will tell you we don’t make a profit boarding your horse.

Here is my bill for ONE WEEK worth of hay. These are round bales I put out in the fields. It doesn’t include the $200/month of hay EACH horse eats in small bales a month.

Factor in the cost to install and maintain the best arena footing, hot wash stalls, knowledgeable professional staff, insurance to keep YOU and your horse safe, quality feeds to keep your horse fit, and if you enjoy a clean facility, all the pasture management and organizing that takes! You’ll see that this is a labor of love.

In order to obtain that excellent reputation, we don’t cut corners. We never take the cheap route. Your vet recommends us because they know horses here are healthy. If board costs $800/month, I hope you see it’s a bargain. You get what you pay for. We love what we do and you will too!

After 90 days of training, it’s a great feeling to see an owner get what they paid for! Lauren took Gia out on the trails and they both had a RELAXING time together. Gia acted like an old pro! Way to go Gia & Lauren!
