We hope everyone has a safe & Happy Fourth of July! ❤️🤍💙 What a blessing to be an American. We have so much to be thankful for. 🇺🇸 #1776

We know this can be a dreaded holiday for some as the big booms are coming. We are sending all the love & compassion for your fur kiddos with firework phobia.

Things we like to do here to decrease stress or anxiety even for our dogs without fears, anxieties or phobias.

1. We like to get our exercise done earlier in the day. Good aerobic exercise if possible so the dogs are tired and their energy is expended.

2. Make sure the dogs that need them have any medications on board. Starting the night prior to allow the body to start acclimating to the change. More holistic options like composure pro or solliquin may even need to be started a few weeks prior to allow it to build up in the body and have better results. This includes spraying the dog beds / kennels etc with adaptil pheromones or utilizing the adaptil diffuser. ( feliway if you have kitties ).

3. Come inside before it gets dark and try to do our last potty break not during peak firework hours. Sometimes this means after 11pm.

4. Provide mental stimulation during firework hours. We love doing things like frozen kongs stuffed with something yummy, puzzle toys, treat wobbles, frozen lick Matts snuffle matts etc. Some dogs or cats may benefit from some training sessions during this time to keep their mind focused on other things.

5. We always have TV or music on for background noise. Maybe louder than usual just to help drown anything out. Fans can also help with this.

6. Provide a safe place for them to be. Whether that’s their crate that we make into more of a cozy fort/den or on their favorite cozy bed.

7. We may do a few things to create a more comfortable environment but we truly try not to make it a huge deal. We want it to feel like any other day and not stress about it. Our pets are so intuitive and if we stress, they will stress more too. I’m fortunate to not have kiddos with phobias during this time but I can understand what this day may bring for others. Just remember it’s only temporary and things will be back to normal shorty!

✨PIPPIN ✨💙 standard poodle boy! Yeah, you heard that right JUST poodle. No labra or golden before the doodle 😂 seemingly rare these days I know. What a handsome boy he is, a few months back he started doing some trial nights with me to get him acclimated to the new environment. Pip has never boarded before. We are starting things out slow for dude, as he has some social skills to learn & grasp before we increase the stimuli with large dog groups. His parents already knew he needed more practice so it was great for us to come up with a game plan that made sense for Pips success here. So far after a few stays, he’s getting the hang of things. Violet loved getting to know him and showing him around our neighborhood. He’s got some coexisting to learn but we will get there. Did you know Poodles are considered one of the smartest breeds? 🧐👏🏽💙

Ps: long lines can come in handy when introducing a new dog to the pack. Gives you a little safety net while you are still learning their personality and how they will interact with others. It also helps provide more reliable recall until you work up to off leash skills.

Back at it with the let’s meet all of our new friends series..

MEET JACK! 🐾🧡

What a fun new pal to join the group. He fit right into the pack and made friends pretty easy. Huck and Iroh showed him the ropes and made him feel very welcomed. He is a ball of energy but knows how to chillax too. His family is doing right by trying to help him get all his training and skills under his belt to become the best companion. We loved having him over & look forward to more fun times. 🎉☺️✨💙

Did I tell you that Lucy ( our long time pal) added a new family member to her pack? Meet MANNY 🐾💙. He’s a young dude learning the ropes of life & becoming a good canine citizen 🙌🏽☺️. We’ve spent some time working on social etiquette and dog interactions in general. Lucy & Violet are helping him learn the lay of the land but I’m here for support too! He’s met and made many friends already, it’s only a matter of time before he gets the hang of things and won’t need so much direction. Happy to provide guidance & assurance in the meantime. 👍🏽❤️

Buster the Lagotto! 🐾💙

Back in February we made a new friend. He’s new to boarding so he had to do a few single nights before his longer stay. He acclimated well and got to make some new friends and have some new positive experiences. 🎉🙌🏽

What is a Lagotto? “The lagotti go back to at least Renaissance Italy, where they were bred as waterfowl retrievers working the marshlands of Ravenna. (“Lago” is Italian for “lake.”) For many years, though, Lagotti, blessed with an exceptional nose, have been used in the Italian countryside to sniff out truffles, a tasty and expensive delicacy. Though many breeds can be trained on truffles, the Lagatto is generally considered the world’s finest truffle dog”.

Busters dad says he’s won medals for being such a good truffle hunter 🥇🎖️ how cool is that? ✨☺️

Very behind on new friend introductions. We’ve made a few new friends lately since boarding availability opened up allowing me to take on some new clients. I try my best to keep up with this social media thing, but let’s be real. Hanging out with the dogs, keeping them enriched, safe & happy is more important. 🙌🏽✨🐾 but I gotta share some of our new buddies so I’ll try to get up to date with some of the newbies! 👌🏽

Meet Reggie (small white), & Vern!! 🐶💙 Brother duo that seriously fit right into the pack. It’s like they had been here before. They love chasing ball, making new friends & learning some new skills ( kitty cat training) along the way. Enjoy some newer & throwback photos with the boys! 📸☺️

Cooter & F***y! 💙💜🐾 I haven’t seen them in awhile but I got an update from their mama a few weeks back and it made my heart happy. They are thriving and living their best life as they should! 🙌🏽✨ cooter has graduated to adult stage and can now be home without needing drop in visits. Ya-hoo. 🤩 I miss them but I was so happy to hear they are doing amazing!

I think it’s safe to say all the kiddos I meet do take a little piece of my heart. I find myself thinking about them and wanting to know how they are. Thanks to all my amazing clients for sharing their fur kids with me. It’s truly a pleasure to care for them all! 💕🥹

Grog ( black/white) Yasha & Friends! we always have fun caring for this duo. Grog is a little more experienced than his sister Yasha but she’s doing her best to learn the ropes and make new friends along the way. 🐶🐾☺️ I’m a total sucker for mixed breeds… I just love the variety and uniqueness you get in the way they look but also their character. If you know your breeds well you get glimpses of those traits and it’s just interesting to see how it makes up their personalities. ✨❤️ I just freaking LOVE DOGS!!

Remy ✨🐶💕 our floofy doodle friend with one of the best hair poofs around. I wish I could get that much volume 😂 we sure love having her around and apart of our pack. Melo also agrees and was upset I was making him stay in his back pack instead of playing with his dog pals. 😺

Well, our wish didn’t come true and the rain is back. It was worth a try though right? 🌧️😅 Does not change how much fun we have spending time together. Guess we couldn’t be to spoiled with sunny spring days. ☀️💕 Thankful for the ones we had! It’s just a reminder that summer is almost here! 🎉

Spring Break Frenzy 2024! 🐾✨❤️ what a fun & happy crew. A few we haven’t seen in awhile and a few new to group. We sure made the best out of our week. A whole lot of doggie smiles 😃🐶 & Violet got her frenchie fix 😂 she’s obsessed with the frenchies lol.

The many faces & seasons of my walks with Gracie! 🐾✨💕 we always have a great time, no matter the weather. Sometimes she finds things to collect like nests, balls of grass, sticks etc she gets very proud of herself 😂 we even get to see some wildlife. I’m so glad I get to care for this smiling face! 🐶😁

The winter is great and all but we are for sure ready for some spring walks with our friends! 🐾🐶 Spring brings so much color & life to our walks. Just a little longer and we will see the cherry blossoms blooming 🌸🌸.

Jade got to celebrate her 3rd birthday last week with us! We can’t believe we’ve been friends since she was 4 months old. We have loved watching her grow up & turn into such a wonderful girl. 💗🐾 ☺️

Toby!! 💙🐾 We’ve known this dude for years. His mama and I worked at a doggie daycare together back in the day. He’s never had any sleep overs with me though until recently. Mr. Toby had a great time meeting some new friends but also romping around with his old pal Violet. He loved hanging out on my lap and made friends with the kitty. He was such a happy boarder and we’re so glad he came to visit. ✨😍

Miss Yasha 💕✨she’s a great new addition to the crew. She is Grogs ( black & white boy) little sister 🐾🐶 she was a rockstar for her trail visits and gets to come back to make new friends and party! 🎉 she hasn’t had a ton of social experiences so I’m so glad she can practice those skills in a safe environment. My joy is to set up these pooches for success and create a fun place for them to learn & thrive.

Thanks to my amazing clients, friends, colleagues, family etc for believing in me & trusting me to care for your fur kiddos. It’s truly a blessing to do what I LOVE! 🥰😘

Tony the Tonysaurous 🦖🦕 hehe. Big boy that towers over them all but such a fun newbie to the crew. I think it’s safe to say he had a blast making new friends, enjoyed practicing some social skills and by the end of his stay he was a rockstar camper. Boarding can have so many variables that the doggies don’t have all the time at home. Multiple dogs in one house, new dogs coming & going, new household rules and expectations. Etc. I love providing a safe place for them to learn, grow and thrive. Those smiles are worth it all! 💙☺️ thanks for coming to visit Tony. 🐾🐶
