Our Charlie Bunker boy. Thru the years it has been a wild ride buddy. From meeting you on day one and you being a bundle of boxer energy and fun. What was mistaken for aggressive like behaviors was really a lot of pent up hyper boxer energy that was just a bit too much for others. You were a bit hard headed and wanted your way with things but we settled in quickly learning expectations of each other and when it was ok to let all the energy out and when it was time to act like a perfect gentleman being calm, cool and focused.
From taking rides for ice cream, meeting lots of fur friends, socializing with more humans than we can count, walks on the trail and by the pond, playing with the toys in the yard and getting your zoomies out, cuddling with everyone on the couch, sitting so sweetly for treats, knowing how to get our attention, the hugs, cuddles and sloppy kisses, the memories will always be with us. You were always ready for any adventure we were going to go on next, your zest for life was immeasurable. Picking up on training you would do almost anything for some treats and attention. Learning if you walked nicely on your leash it meant more walks and outings. Giving paws when asked, high fives and even obeying the down command, speaking on command, you truly were an awesome boy to work with and train. You learned to be so patient for things. The excitement you always had when we had visitors showed how much of a fun, loving and social boy you always were even if you couldn’t contain your excitement and had to jump up to sneak in some quick kisses. You were an awesome copilot on rides watching everything going on and I swore you were gonna grab the keys and hop in the truck next driving some of the pups around town. You had a million and one faces of “Charlie,” oh so serious, sleepy boy, excited, cutie pie, winking, smiling, grinning and even the sulking side eye. You had one of the longest boxer tongues ever and you were our big bubble boy blowing bubbles if you had to wait a bit for treats. Even on your days of not feeling great you were such an amazing boy and trusted us that we had you big boy. Your happiness was always so infectious and will be furever missed. In the short amount of time we had with you since finding out you were sick you still gave us hope because of the way you continued to live life to the fullest. As much as it hurts like hell that you left so quick it is a blessing that you were able to enjoy the last of your days here with us.
Papa would always say Charlies in charge and you always ran up to us, what started as you running the show on strictly your terms turned into you being Mamas perfect little gentleman, the best boxer boy we could’ve ever asked for. You see pretty boy we thought we were taking you into the rescue to work with and find a furever home for but little did we know your plan all along was that you were home when you walked thru our door. We missed that you were really the one in charge from day one. Our hearts are empty from you leaving but our souls are so full of all the love, memories and fun that you gave to us. Until we meet again Charlie run free and I know Zo Zo was waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge buddy. This video is for you my prefect gentleman 💞
