The excess amount raised will go to pay for medication and supplements for the animals since that is our next necessity where funds need to go. We truly are beyond grateful for the help and generosity of so many gracious souls who came to the rescue for these animals needs. We know times are ruff for everyone and we don’t take that lightly when asking for donations. UPDATE: we raised the full amount needed and some extra which will be used towards medication and supplements

HELP NEEDED!!! We’ve got an upcoming food pickup this Saturday and need help. We need to raise funds for paying the invoice of $683.75 for all the cat and dog food, cat litter, puppy pads and pet beds we would be getting. It may seem like a lot but for all the goodies we will have for all the animals it will save us thousands vs if we had to purchase it at full price at the store. We’ve got until Thursday evening to pay the invoice which doesn’t give us much time but we need to make this happen so these animals don’t have to go without. Even a couple dollars will help if you can spare it.

We will also need help unloading it early Saturday afternoon and putting it all away so if you can spare a lifting hand it would be greatly appreciated. If you’re able to help PM us.

If you’d like to donate towards the cost you could do so via PayPal at www.paypal.me/atlbrescue or Zelle at [email protected]

Just an average day of playtime in the yard for Jax, Sasha and Trinity. This is what their fun time outside looks like. Now that the weather has started to cool down to somewhat of a normal tolerable temperature outside they get to enjoy more of their time outside which they all love 💗

Had to share because this is truly where all of us rescues, shelters, animals controls and sanctuaries are right now. In 17 years I’ve never personally seen things so bad. If you need food or vet care to keep your pet there are resources out there to help. These are trying times for everyone right now but please we beg don’t think that the rescue world has that perfect place for your pet, adoptions truly are the lowest we have ever seen in years, even puppies are growing up in rescue!! And the intake is just overwhelming that there isn’t enough space.

Things are getting a bit exciting over here as the walls are starting to go up. 5 rooms are already done and parts of the hallway. It seems so different and it’s going to take a little getting used to for me since I’ve been used to it being wide open for so long lol

This was 2 days work and they are moving steady and quick. Before you know it all the drywall will be up and ready to paint. Then that’s an excuse for us to have a painting party 🎉 We’ll post more updates as the work progresses.

Super duper exciting news….this week is movin on along and is going great. Plumbers came yesterday and finished up the plumbing in half a day, inspector came and all 3 inspections that were needed were passed. One last inspector is coming Thursday for the plumbing and if all goes well we get the ok for the drywall to start getting hung. Thursday and Friday as long as there is no rain the drywallers will be here moving all the drywall into the new building and potentially even starting it this weekend if the guys are willing to work if not they will start Monday.

Whewwww, it seems like things are movin a bit fast now but we needed this to make up for all the time that things have been draggin on along.

We will also be looking for any volunteers to help paint, install ceramic tile in the bathroom shower, interior doors will need to be installed and we will need a bit of help cleaning things up after that to prep for the floors to be installed which if anyone would like to help install the flooring (click and lock vinyl planks) with me it would be much appreciated.

We always have to remind ourselves “Miracles happen to those that believe” and we are finally getting there 🤩

I wanted to take the time today to slow down for a minute and wish the Vice President of the rescue Chris a very Happy Birthday. As much as he can drive me to my witts end, we disagree and we can have our spats he is a huge part of what makes our rescue function. I think part of running a rescue with your spouse your bound to see that happen. With all we have been thru with doing rescue for about 17 years and building a new facility the past 5 years the stress has definitely pushed our limits at times lately. At the end of every day knowing the animals are taken care of, in better places than they have lived in and so many are enjoying their furever families is what truly makes going forward everyday a little more possible.

Just to give an idea of what he does for the rescue and the animals here’s the short list: 😹
Our driver for food and donation pickups, picks up our intake animals, personal chauffeur for the animals to vet visits, adoption events, home visits and fundraising events, he is our track machine driver unloading all the big loads we get, he takes the animals on nature trail walks, lets them out for playtime, yes he even gets up in the middle of the nite letting out the older pups who can’t hold it, he’s always talking to people about the rescue being a marketing guy, he listens to all my rants and follows my commands as he says 😝 I call them requests, he cleans up messes from the pups, he always takes the garbage out, he does doggie laundry, he helps Charlie Bear our big shepherd boy outside with his harness since he can’t walk so he can enjoy some fresh air and sunshine and all the animals end up falling in love and trusting him even if some want to eat him as they were so scared and not always human friendly upon intake.

He truly is a huge part of making this rescue function everyday and honestly we don’t know what we would do without him. So everyone please join me in wishing Chris a very Happy Birthday today 🥳 Some pics of thru the rescue years of how much he truly does and cares for these animals 💕

This might finally be the week that it becomes even more real!!!

We’re hoping this week goes as planned as it’s gonna be a pretty exciting time around here. Fingers crossed the plumbers are able to finish up tomorrow. They have saved us from the realization that we couldn’t do all the plumbing on our own and helped to bail us out when we were sinking. Honestly they saved us from drowning and we will be furever grateful for their help and squeezing us into their busy schedule trying to get this done asap. We have a couple more inspections to be done and if it all goes right and the inspections pass then the walls can finally start to get put up even possibly at the end of this week.

It’s truly has been a serious long haul creeping forward but we are now kicking up and moving in the right direction. The first phase of the Mutt Mansion is heading for completion and getting ready for occupancy for these animals who have been waiting for so long to experience living a better, more comfortable life in their new safe haven.

We want to thank the generous donors who were so kind and generous to help make this happen. Had it not been for their giving hearts we truly would not have been able to afford all the drywall materials and labor to have it done. To the owner and plumbers at Baker Plumbing for bailing us out seriously we owe you so much thanks that words cannot speak. It’s been a ruff road we’ve traveled but we have had many amazing angels along the way lifting us up to keep this dream for the animals become a reality.

I also included a pic of the new tub all installed, the plumbers probably thought I lost my mind after the tub ordeal we endured and especially after how excited I was “having a tub” that even the big dogs and I will fit into with them so they can get proper baths without me breaking my back leaning over the outside 😝

Somehow I had an Alzheimer’s moment and forgot to mention that the electrician also made it out and wired up our AC unit as well last week so we now have a fully temperature controlled environment for both the hot and cold weather. Let me just say oh does the central air feel so nice and cool going in there.

I feel like a goofy fool admitting this but it’s the truth, the tub, plumbing, AC, walls about to go up it’s like I’m swinging around singing “Movin on Up” and grinning from ear to ear on how great this dream is becoming a reality not just for the basics but for the “necessities” that these animals will have 🤪

Today is a very special day for our rescue as it celebrates 12 years in operation. It’s been a long road filled with so many memories, laughs, tears, excursions, stories and of course so many different animals that have came thru during that time. It has been both exhausting yet so rewarding. We have tales to tell that most would never believe yet so many precious moments that we would’ve never been able to let animals experience knowing there are good people in the world that do care and will help them.

We’ve been able to give so many animals a chance at a great life, health, family, compassion and unconditional love that some have never experienced prior. Some have found their amazing furever families while others have been sanctuary ones living out their rest of their lives with dignity, love and the best care we could offer knowing they were fully loved and supported til the very end and never being left behind ever again.

It is because of the help of volunteers, fosters, donors, supporters and adopters which has made our rescue continue to operate even thru the ruffest of times.

Going into our 12th year we are finishing up phase 1 of our New Mutt Mansion facility and can’t wait for these animals to have their place to call their own whether it’s their temporary landing pad or their furever sanctuary to live out the rest of their days as kings and queens being doted on.

We are asking at this time with help for monetary donations to help finish up the New Mutt Mansion as we have literally been rubbing together our last pennies keeping the building progress going. Costs are so high and as much as we have tried to do so much work on our own we have had to call in reinforcements to handle the jobs that are just too much for us. This project has been a huge undertaking to say the least and it been 5 years in the building process this far 🙄 I’d say these animals have been patient enough waiting for their new place to be ready for them to truly live a new fulfilling life. They deserve it, they are worth it and we will not give up on them like all others in the past have. Help us make their future happen…their lives depend on it 💗

A big thank you to Kaliyah and Amy who came out to help move furniture last week. Without their help we couldn’t have gotten everything moved out of the way in order to finish up the plumbing and have room cleared for our drywall to be delivered. These girls worked so hard and we are so thankful for their time and help to get things ready.

Looking for some help to move a few couches and some furniture to another part of the building so that we can get the plumbing finished up and fingers crossed drywall up soon. If you can spare some free time even if it’s an hour or two PM us. Most of the couches aren’t too bad that we can slide them but some of the furniture we can put on moving dollies to move more easily.

Times are really ruff and finances are always falling short. Thanks to Rescue Pack for securing items and holding distributions for rescues and shelters we are able to make sure these animals don’t go without and it doesn’t break the bank. We were able to get some great Merrick wet cat food that the felines all love and go crazy for. We were also able to get puppy pads from Hartz so that our pups and special needs babies don’t make such huge messes to clean up and it can make their environment stay cleaner and not overworking us cleaning up accidents so often. It’s literally so much easier to pick up used potty pads and dispose of them than having to keep pulling out the cleaning supplies and getting to scrubbing making more time for us to spend with the animals.

We are so grateful to have this resource so that we can keep making sure more animals are taken care of everyday that need our help!

Check out some of our adoptable sweet and social kitties looking for their furever homes on our Fb Reels. These babies have been with our rescue for quite some time which is no fault of their own. They are all healthy, happy, social, playful and loving lil kitties that deserve that family to call their own. Anyone who has met them can tell you they are all so sweet, adorable and so deserving of finding their furever families.

They are all fully vetted which includes spay/neuter, Rabies and FVRCP vaccines, dewormed, FIV/FELV negative and any other treatments they needed to be fully healthy and looking for their furever homes. They are all litterbox trained. Their adoption fee is $150. If you’re looking to adopt one of these cuties apply online at www.atlbrescue.org/process.php.

PLEASE SHARE, WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

As we’re getting started on the plumbing at the Mutt Mansion here are some of the materials we are needing. If you would like to purchase the items yourself and drop them off, purchase a Menards gift card or if you’d like to make a monetary donation towards the purchase of them we would greatly appreciate the help. We are scrapping every penny together we have to keep going with this building to get it completed asap for these animals who have been waiting for the past 5 years to call it a home of their own. The total to purchase all these materials is approximately $640. Any help is greatly appreciated even if it’s only a couple dollars or a piece or 2 of materials!! We are trying to get the plumbing done right away so time is of the essence needing the materials right away.

Also if anyone has a right angle drill with Big Hawg hole saws that would like to do our cut outs for the plumbing please reach out to us the plumber advised it will make this job so much easier or we might be here for weeks with regular hole saws cutting the cut outs for the pipes with how many we have 😳

Some thank you’s to some kind and generous people who have helped. To Nancy R for coming out helping me this week to run more wire in pipe to install some crawl space lighting, trust me it’s not a fun task. To David & Christine P and Marianne & Ronald G for making monetary donations to help with the building expenses.

We greatly appreciate the support and help so we can continue to keep going with this building project. The animals are getting excited and can’t wait for their new place the Mutt Mansion to be complete so they can move in.

If you’d like to help we are finishing up getting the insulation put in, putting screen/storm doors in, finishing up wiring up the lighting and a few last odds and ends before our next building inspection. We are hoping to have our plumbing plans back next week to get started on that next. If you’d like to volunteer to help with any of these tasks please PM us.

Monetary donations are also needed to help pay for the materials still needed and to pay the contractors to do the work that we can’t do ourselves. The drywall will be the next biggest expense and it’s a costly one but unfortunately we are not able to do that ourselves. We have a great drywall contractor who has worked with us on pricing but it’s costly because it’s a big job to be done.

If you’d like to make a monetary donation you can do so in one of the following ways:

My lil supervisors came out to work today. Funny how they know where to go and what to look for. They even take a break in the yard before the work day gets started. Then they made me stop and take a dinner break. Of course they wanted some burgers too after all their hard work today.

Mabel & Niko love coming out to help in the building and are loving how their new Mutt Mansion is turning out. They both will live out the rest of their lives here and can’t wait for it to be done so they can enjoy their days enjoying all the new luxuries and amenities it has to offer 🐶

19/02/2024

So here’s some pics of what the building is looking like now because of all the help of some amazing volunteers/angels who have given their time and efforts to make sure it keeps coming along. We’ve got more lights (interior and exterior) and outlets working, ceiling fan braces all installed and a huge pantry all framed out now for all the animals special foods and treats. This week we’re waiting for the electrician to finish wiring up the more complex light and fan dimmers and rest of the bigger electrical items to be finished up, we got more lights we ordered and got delivered that need to be installed, the rest of the insulation to be installed and the last couple exterior lights to be put up. We will have our next inspection then on to the plumbing it will be. We’re awaiting the plans from the plumber and once we get those in we will be able to start getting that all installed.

It’s definitely taking time to get it all done, after all I have to remind myself we are working on getting 3,000 sq ft completed on this first phase BUT it is definitely coming together great. We are so excited to get this first phase finished up so these animals can finally get into their new home the “Mutt Mansion” to be spoiled and enjoy their days. From the beginning thoughts and dreams it’s now becoming a reality for everyone else to see. This project has been planned out to every last detail to improve the animals quality of lives and make it what they need and deserve to thrive whether they are here with us until they find their furever families or if it’s their final landing to spend the rest of their days/months/years.

We will continue to post updates but remember we still need volunteer help to help with a lot of the work, lend an extra set of hands and monetary donations to keep purchasing more of the materials we need and paying for the contractors to do the work that we can’t. As soon as we get the plumbing plans we will be posting a material wish list of you want to purchase materials directly and bring them out or we could also use gift cards to Menards or Home Depot.

Update: Thank you to Mike for donating and bringing us out a Ryobi drill for the rescue. It is used but we don’t mind we just need it to work. We greatly appreciate your kindness and support!

Well I guess we must be doing too much work and overworking our tools because I just blew out yet another drill. This makes #3!! 😡 Granted all 3 were many years old and have seen their fair share of hours but now we need yet another tool again 😢

I’m posting this out as we were trying to use the monetary donations we’ve received towards plumbing and drywall to get as much done as we could so I figured I’d put out a plea and see if by chance anyone has one that they would like to donate that is like this? Maybe you have multiple, need to downsize or really don’t need it anymore. Or if anyone would like to purchase one this is the most reasonably priced one and our last one of this brand lasted 7 years thru lots of projects. We do have batteries and chargers for this brand as well as Ryobi and Dewalt. We are not extremely particular on the brand as long as it has the high power drilling we need and the adjustable chuck on it. If you’re able to help please PM us.

We also want to thank the quiet angel who left a bag of dog food last weekend when they came to volunteer and to Sam & Debbie who sent Charlie Bear his most favorite treats for Valentine’s Day. To Greg & Barb for donating some wet dog food the pups thank you for it.

To Adam K who has been making a lot of posts on so many sites on behalf of our rescue trying to wrangle up some much needed volunteer help we appreciate it so very much as it has brought a lot of new faces our way who have helped and shared our info as well.

We can’t do this alone but together we can make a difference to make sure these animals lives are made better everyday. We appreciate all the help and support in whatever form your able to give 🐶

Another big thank you going out to Timber Construction for coming out this past weekend and finishing up the framing that had to be done. Tim & Mike offered to volunteer their time and help us out getting it all wrapped up so it’s ready for drywall next. What might have taken us quite some time was finished up pretty quick with some professionals knowing how to get it done because they have what we call “the fancy tools that make the job get done efficiently and correctly.”

It was such a sigh of relief we could breathe as it’s been quite some time that we were trying to finish it up and with so many other tasks it kept going by the wayside. If you need some work done give these professionals a call who have the tools and skills to get the job done quickly and correctly. They were super nice to have here, got their job done, cleaned up after themselves and gave us such relief knowing that nagging task is now done and we don’t have to worry about it anymore. We are so grateful and appreciate that they came to our rescue and lifted a heavy load from our shoulders.

Update on building:

We reached out for rescue and we are so grateful to so many who gave up their precious time and came out this past week and weekend to help with working towards our new building getting closer to being done. Others gave up time with their kiddos, family, animals, working on their race car, going shopping at the mall, working another job and relaxing on their one day off that they never get to come out and help. A few had long drives even as much as 3 1/2 hours each way to get here to help! We can’t say how thankful we are for the outpouring of support and compassion they have for our situation. We understand what it takes to give up doing things we may want to do and put the needs of these animals first.

We got many things done like a major cleanup and organization of all of our tools and supplies, more wiring done, electrical outlets installed, tested and now working, some actual lights and switches working, some exterior lights up and working, the rest of our framing done, more door frames put together for interior doors to be installed, a lot of the insulation is almost complete, moving unneeded materials out of our workspace and the last couple holes in the floor from the old venting now all repaired. It truly is amazing at how much got accomplished because of such giving souls, some even coming out multiple days to help.

Even though we got quite a bit more to go before the animals can call it their home it is such a relief seeing things going in such a forward direction towards welcoming them in their “Mutt Mansion.” Caputo the Doberman made sure to supervise that everyone was kept doing a task and did their jobs correctly then went outside and had a meeting thru the fence with some of the rescue pups giving them pupdates of how their new place is coming along 🐶

To the following people who came out and put in such great work and effort:

To Nancy R for ordering, picking up, delivering and paying for pizzas for everyone to have lunch yesterday while working out here. Trust me this building work can make you feel pretty hungry and it was so kind of her to offer to do that for these hardworking volunteers.

To the following people who made monetary donations to help make sure the building can continue to keep going forward:

William T
Steven A
Elena C
Kathi P
Jean L

To everyone who shared our post and plea for help making sure it got spread far and wide for others to see and tagged others we thank you.

It’s amazing at how much can happen when a community comes together and all their efforts are combined. I write this thank you with tears of joy and gratefulness because we don’t feel alone, helpless and hopeless trying to do this all on our own. Our light that was almost burnt out for our dream to make sure these animals will have a true home to call their own is starting to shine brighter again. This project is not completed but we were shown that others are out there willing to help so it can become a reality for these animals.

If you’d like to volunteer time to come out to do some labor PM us and let us know what skills you have, if you don’t have any building skills I’m sure we will always have some basic labor tasks or you can lend a helping hand helping others out that need extra help completing a task. We are typically here working on this project Tuesday- Sunday every week so there’s many days to choose from.

If you’d like to make a monetary donation to help with the costs to ensure it can keep going forward you can do so in one of the following ways:

If you are a business and would like to become a sponsor for this project please PM us.

I will also be compiling a building Wish List of items/supplies needed if you’d prefer to purchase them directly and bring them out.

We will continue to post updates as well as to what we will need help with. I know as of right now we’re working on getting the electrical and insulation finished up so we can get our next building inspections completed. We are hoping this week to be able to start plumbing and as soon as that’s completed and inspected drywall will need to be done.

From the bottom of our hearts thank you for bringing some miracles our way when we need them the most 💗

PLEASE SHARE!!! MORRIS, IL

We are reaching out as we are in desperate need of help with our new building getting done asap. What we thought would be a 9 month to a year project is taking almost 5 years! Yes you heard that right. Our current roof is failing horribly and we keep putting temporary fixes on it but we just can’t catch a break here. Again yesterday it reered its ugliness and literally was like “Houston we have lift off here!” Again I don’t think Hollywood could write scripts like this!!

We have once again made very temporary repairs but I can’t stress enough WE NEED TO GET INTO OUR NEW PLACE ASAP!! I can’t even say how much time we have left because honestly the only reason we are still here is because we have no other choice or option with the animals we have.

WE NEED HELP!!! We need help with hanging interior doors, putting insulation in, getting plumbing installed, drywall and the list continues. Even if you don’t know how to do this type of work but can lend us a hand holding a door or plumbing pipe while it’s installed, cleaning up our work area to keep it safe or arranging and organizing supplies so it’s not a cluttered mess we can use your help too! We also need financial help as our kettle is dry again as there are so many expenses it’s exhausting. We’re doing the best we can forging ahead with what we can get done everyday but ARE IN DESPERATE NEED OF RESCUE NOW!! We have always rescued All Those Left Behind and we need the help now so I’m personally calling out favors. We’re begging and pleading if you can help even if it seems like a little it does make a difference. This sh*tuation is really pressing us physically, mentally and financially and WE NEED HELP, there’s now way to sugar coat this one. If you can help with any labor or materials please PM us.
