Many of us were saddened to learn of the passing Calvin. His rescue and subsequent adoption was one of those stories that purrrfectly matched the spirit of TinyKitten’s mission.

A feel-good story for your Friday 💜 🐾 Thanks to TELUS Health MyPet, our virtual care service for cat and dog owners, our team was able to help save a newborn kitten who desperately needed the immediate support of a veterinarian.

We are so grateful to have this opportunity to double the impact of every donation, because our remarkable new Bramble feral colony is our biggest, most challenging, most impactful... and most expensive project yet.

We are facing daunting challenges, with the amount of food, huge increases in veterinary and lab costs, a whopping 47% with type B blood, ringworm, ruptured eyeballs, broken jaws and more.

We've been pushing ourselves extremely hard, and are thrilled to announce we have already prevented 405 kittens from being conceived this season alone!

This number is especially significant because so many of these freshly spayed cats have type B blood, which puts their kittens at risk of a fatal condition called Neonatal Isoerythrolysis. Without even factoring in the increased mortality from NI, 300+ of those 405 kittens would have died due to disease, predators or injury.

This photo is Carlton (a.k.a. the Carliflower), who had a very painful ruptured eyeball removed. It's been amazing getting to witness him blossom (lol), now that his pain has been alleviated.

Please help...our wee Pixie needs us!

We need your help, as Pixie is unexpectedly fighting for her life.

Pixie had complications during her spay today, which resulted in severe swelling that has prevented the removal of her breathing tube. She must remain sedated and on oxygen while the critical care team works to reduce the swelling.

So far, she has not responded to any of the medications that typically reduce swelling. They are now determining if it is possible to place a tracheotomy tube that would allow her to be extubated and still breathe.

Please send all of your positive thoughts, prayers and love her way, as she will need every bit of it.

The initial estimate for her medical care is $8000. We know this is a lot to ask, but if you are able to donate toward her care, we would be incredibly grateful: TinyKittens.com/donate

Stinkerbelle's spay went well, and she is home and receiving snuggles while we wait for news. 💕

UPDATE 3:36pm - Pixie has had her trach removed and is breathing normally!!!! Her team would like to keep her for one more night just to make sure she continues to do well, but we could not be more relieved and grateful that we seem to be getting a not-at-all-tiny miracle!!!

UPDATE 10:18am - Pixie did great overnight, and her team is cautiously optimistic they will be able to remove her trach and start testing her breathing on her own. It is possible she could even be home by tonight! She is NOT out of the woods yet, but making encouraging progress.

Once again, I am completely overwhelmed with gratitude that YOU, our , have stepped up and made it possible to save Pixie's life. She would not be alive today without you.

UPDATE 8:57pm - Pixie was able to be extubated and have a tracheotomy tube placed, which is very encouraging news. This was a very challenging procedure given her tiny size, so we are extremely grateful to her incredibly skilled surgical specialty team, and to her critical care team for monitoring her constantly to make sure she continues to breathe and continues to process all of the medications she needed to keep fighting to this point.

We are also extremely grateful to our for making it possible for us to give Pixie the chance to fight her way back from this. She is still in critical condition, but we now have reason to cling to a tiny spark of hope.
