The poetry writing is lying dormant at just past mid-book length, the muse waits for my undivided attention and I'm looking forward to getting back to it. Kevin Del Principe and I had a good (public) conversation amidst the busyness of life, on subjects we both hold sacred. : "An inflated is always egocentric and conscious of nothing but its own existence. It is incapable of learning from the past, incapable of understanding contemporary events, and incapable of drawing right conclusions about the future. It is hypnotized by itself and therefore cannot be argued with. It inevitably dooms itself to calamities that must strike it dead. Paradoxically enough, inflation is a of consciousness into . This always happens when consciousness takes too many contents upon itself and loses the faculty of discrimination, the sine qua non of all consciousness. When fate, for four whole years, played out a of monumental frightfulness on the stage of Europe – a war that nobody wanted – nobody dreamed of asking exactly who or what had caused the war and its continuation. Nobody realized that European man was possessed by something that robbed him of all free will. And this state of unconscious will continue undeterred until we Europeans become scared of our 'god-almightiness.' Such a change can begin only with individuals, for the masses are blind brutes, as we know to our cost. It seems to me of some importance, therefore, that a few individuals, or people individually, should begin to understand that there are contents which do not belong to the -personality, but must be ascribed to a psychic non-ego. This mental operation has to be undertaken if we want to avoid a threatening inflation. To help us, we have the useful and edifying models held up to us by poets and philosophers – models or archetypi that we may well call remedies for both men and the times. Of course, what we discover there is nothing that can be held up to the masses – only some hidden thing that we can hold up to ourselves in solitude and in silence. Very few people care to know anything about this; it is so much easier to preach the universal panacea to everybody else than to take it oneself, and, as we all know, things are never so bad when everybody is in the same boat. No doubts can exist in the herd; the bigger the crowd the better the truth – and the greater the catastrophe.

I strongly suggest that those wishing to make sense of current events ignore the headlines and delve into studies of mythology, ancient religion, psychoanalysis, and classic lit. We have left the mundane sphere of "politics" and are in a vaster, deeper, more symbolic domain.

A heartfelt thanks to Kevin Del Principe at Dog Heartland Press https://kevindelprincipe.com for his patience and understanding in the editing/publishing where my expanding evolution kept enlarging this book to its current size. For his maintenance of my mechanical failures, and for being a skilled Vaquero who wrangled my stray doggies back to the wilderness trail.
To Jessie, my wife for her intuitive and keen understanding of my vision and style, acting as an objective mirror during the editing, and keeping me at my best with her instinctive criticism and enthusiasm in first readings.

Amazing poetry! I'm overjoyed to have discovered this poet. I had a week off work at Christmas, and loved it so much I read the book twice. Straight off, I'd say there is terrific spiritual depth to the poems but nothing either obvious or cloaked and preachy. Also, its not nature poetry- but- then again - it absolutely is, because every line pulses with the “lumen naturale” – the light of nature exuded by “the mysterious entity the earth.” The word “mythic” comes closest, but this writer is a zesty storyteller whose poetry naturally eludes easy classification while artfully conjuring vivid landscapes teeming with mysterious creatures and full to the brim with strange familiar entities, playful and cryptic and aligned with the invisible forces of nature. As with the best of storytelling you feel yourself inextricably drawn into intimate communion with its denizens. He wields the metalanguage of poetry like a magician, effortlessly keeping both the words and you- the reader alchemically shifting across invisible boundaries, overcoming the limitations of linear space and time, seamlessly communicating the interdependence of all aspects of our phenomenal world.
If you are an adventurous reader, and/or someone who, for instance, enjoys the worlds of Neil Gaian, or the mythic consciousness streaming of Alan Gardner or the animal headed people and world boundary hopping of Charles de Lint- then, you'll probably lap this poetry up! Clair Delaney

I've been quiet on here; for the last few years I`ve had the head down and buried in my writing or contending with the odd life challenges as we all do.
