When water from mud evaporates from a dog's skin, it carries heat away and can lower their body temperature by up to 3.6°F. Mud also evaporates more slowly than clean water, so dogs can feel cooler for longer.

Why should you learn how to take your dog off leash hiking? Because it stimulates their Seeking System! This system is associated with anticipation of rewards, exploration, and excitement!!
Simply put- because they LOVE IT!

-Know the signs of Heat Exhaustion! Better yet- just stay inside where its cool!!
****🔥Generally, at temperatures above 89° Fahrenheit, most dogs are at risk of heat stroke and you should avoid walking your dog when it’s 90°F or hotter.
****🔥For many dogs, outdoor activity at temperatures above 82°F can be dangerous, and for some dogs even temperatures in the 70°-77° range can be too hot.
****🔥High humidity can be dangerous too. When the air is humid, panting is less effective at evaporating moisture, so dogs have a harder time cooling off.
KNOW YOUR BREED'S RISKS!!

***Drape a cold damp towel over them to wet and cool them, remove the towel and put them in front of a fan
***MAKE SURE THEY HAVE PLENTY OF WATER!!!
***DONT LET THEM STAY OUTSIDE!!!
