Stray Haven rescues cats and kittens on death row in animal controls, as strays, and from abusive situations. Fostering: We do not have a physical location.

We typically have 150-200 cats in our foster homes, including Mauhaus, and the cat cages at the MacKenzie Pointe & South County Petco locations. No matter your age or location, there are many ways you can help these loving animals! Adoption: Adopting a rescued pet is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have. pplication from our website. Volunteering: Stray Haven is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization comprised entirely of volunteers who love animals. If you have a warm heart for a furry feline, here are a few ways you can help:

Petco (Mackenzie Pointe), South County Petsmart: We currently have cats available for adoption at Petco. We are in need of volunteers to clean the cages and interact with the cats housed at Petco on a weekly basis. Fund Raising: We could use help in organizing fund raising campaigns and events to help us raise funds to rescue animals and to promote our name and mission to the community. We depend on the kindness and generosity of people willing to foster these loving animals until we can find a permanent home. Grant Writing: If you’re experienced in grant writing, love animals, and want to volunteer your time, we could sure use your help. Monetary Donations: Stray Haven Rescue saves cats and kittens that are abandoned or are on death row at local animal controls. The costs associated with running a rescue organization are tremendous. Adoption fees cover only a portion of the expenses. Animals rescued as strays, from animal controls, and abusive situations may require special and extended veterinary treatment. There’s also the cost associated with spaying/neutering, immunizations, FIV/FeLV testing, medications, and microchipping. Stray Haven Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All charitable donations are tax deducible and Stray Haven will gladly furnish a tax donation receipt upon request. Your generosity makes a difference! Financial donations are the lifeblood of our organization. Stray Haven Rescue is an all-donation, all-volunteer organization, so every bit of help is greatly appreciated. My name is Tortellini. I was found in a feral colony on Lucas and Hunt Road. I found this colony and decided to join it so I could get food, water, and shelter. The caretaker noticed me and saw how friendly I am, so she got me into a rescue group. I love attention and am figuring out what toys are. I especially love getting my long beautiful hair brushed! Lauren is having surgery to fix a hematoma!

Lauren recently had a blood vessel rupture in her ear which caused a hematoma (buried in the pics so it doesn't come up first during scrolling). We have had it drained, but since it immediately filles again we need to have surgery to remedy it. Her surgery is scheduled for next Tuesday, the 20th, and is on pain meds in the meantime. Luckily, the vet said that there isn’t any infection present.

Between surgery and initial visit to drain it, we are looking at a bill of over $1,000. Please donate if you can. Thank you!

Meet Rosie!

Rosie is about 4 years old. She's very playful and gets along with other cats, but is a a little on the shy side.

Sam is a TNR from a colony of cats in The Grove. He was thought to be just one out of about 40-50 cats that an older gentleman, who lived nearby on Arco, fed but never fixed. According to neighbors, the older man had been feeding stray cats for decades. Sam was thought to be feral'ish, or more of a stray, loner type of cat, but after TNR, neutering and being vetted, it was clear that he was a very loving and easy-going boy. He lived in one of my outdoor enclosures, never again being allowed to roam freely outdoors, for a few years, before moving inside. He did not need time to adjust to living the life of a spoiled, indoor only housecat, or to living with other cats. He easily got along with everyone from day one. He was very tolerant of Clarisse, my dog. Sam loves to be pet and loved on, and is a biscuit-making champ. If you put your hand out, he will outstretch his paw and put it in your hand. He also does this to let you know he wants more loving. If you are interested, email [email protected].

He is FIV+, but as we all know that is not a big deal. FIV+ cats can live a long and happy life and can also get along just fine with FIV- cats.
