🐾 Meet Socks: The Sweet, Smiley Girl Ready for Her Forever Home! ❤️

Location: Alabama, available w/transport to many NorthEast States

This beautiful, happy girl is Socks, (with the most adorable ears) and she’s more than ready to find a family to call her own. Found as a stray in Alabama, Socks was taken to a high-kill shelter, where her fate was uncertain. Thankfully, her advocates reached out to RTH, and we knew we had to save her.

Now at 3 years old and 49 lbs, Socks is the perfect balance of snuggly and playful. She’s a couch potato when it’s time to relax but loves to have fun when it’s time to play! She’s incredibly affectionate, eager to please, and even knows some commands.

🐾 Housebroken & leash-trained
🐾 Gets along wonderfully with other dogs
🐾 Loves people & has a special bond with her foster’s son
🐾 An amazing family companion

Socks is currently heartworm positive, but she has begun treatment, which RTH will cover in full until she is cleared.

If you’re looking for a loving, loyal, and happy pup to complete your home, Socks is your girl! Apply today at www.rthrs.com under the Applications section.

Let’s find Socks the forever family she deserves! 🏡🐶❤️

🚨 URGENT UPDATE: LANE FIGHTS ON. YOUR DONATIONS ARE DESPERATELY NEEDED🚨

Lane had her first follow-up with the cardiologist, and the echocardiogram brought a small but vital victory: there is now less of a warm burden in her pulmonary artery caused by the heartworm. While this is a hopeful sign, Lane’s battle is far from over. She remains on all her medications—including one for pulmonary hypertension—and must continue strict rest as she recovers.

Against all odds, Lane overcame a grueling 7-day hospital stay on an oxygen tank to make it back home—a testament to her indomitable spirit. Her foster family, led by the amazing Jennifer, has been nothing short of amazing. However, keeping her calm and sedentary in a bustling home with eight playful puppies remains a daily challenge.

Our rescue is in a critical situation. Lane’s care now exceeds $16,000, and we've only raised $3,000—meaning we still need $13,000 to cover her emergency expenses. Until we secure the funds necessary for Lane and for the other urgent cases we’re handling, our medical intake remains closed.

Every dollar makes a life-saving difference. Please consider donating today to help Lane continue her fight and give these underdogs a chance to thrive.

A Picture Speaks a Thousand Words—Maeve Has Arrived Safely in Connecticut!❤️

After an uncertain and heartbreaking journey, Maeve made her way to our amazing new foster in Connecticut this morning! She is already receiving so much love and is finally able to rest her head knowing she is safe. Huge thanks to Marisha and Santano for stepping up to welcome this special senior into their hearts.

Thank you to Marita, who stepped up to foster Maeve in Texas, making it possible for us to pull her from pending death at the shelter.

Fosters are the bridge between life and death for so many dogs, and Maeve is living proof of how much of a difference they make.

Maeve’s story is one of resilience, love, and the power of a dedicated rescue community. Now, she can continue her journey in safety while we search for her forever home.

Please follow her journey here on our page Road to Home Rescue Support as we continue to update on her progress and search for her perfect forever home!

Welcome to your next chapter, Maeve! ❤️🏡

🆘 URGENT: Maeve’s Foster Backed Out—We Can’t Let Her Be Left Behind! 💔 🆘

Some stories break our hearts more than others, and Maeve’s is one of them. At 7-8 years old, she was slated to be euthanized on January 31st simply because she was older, visually impaired, and hard of hearing. She was rescue-only, and no other rescues stepped up. But Road to Home couldn’t let her die.

In her final hours, thanks to our incredible village, we secured what we thought was an amazing foster home in New York. We tagged and pulled her to safety, and she has been decompressing beautifully in Texas with one of our trusted fosters. Maeve has been doing well, finally feeling safe and loved.

She was set to arrive in New York this Thursday, finally getting her second chance—until we got the devastating news that her foster backed out, having taken in another dog without telling us. To say we are beyond devastated is an understatement. 💔

🐾 Mostly blind & deaf but can navigate well
🐾 Sweet, mellow, and housebroken
🐾 Crate trained, spayed, and up to date on vaccines
🐾 Great with kids, cats, and calm or senior dogs (no rowdy puppies, as they may startle her)

Maeve is ready to travel this Thursday, but we need a foster NOW.

🚨 UPDATE: We Need Our Community’s Support to Save These Dogs! 🚨

Road to Home Rescue Support is fighting for these dogs because they have no one else. But we also have so many dogs already in our care that we are committed to, including seniors in our Forever Foster program and several urgent medical cases.

We have now found fosters, for Okoyee and Brodie, will be leaving on transport this Friday! We also moved one dog a few weeks ago—Ozzie—who arrived in terrible shape but is now recovering in foster care with one of our amazing veterinarians on Long Island.

That still leaves 11 dogs desperately needing help. Some are living outside in heated dog houses, but with ongoing flooding and cold weather, their situation is becoming more dire by the day.

We have already spent $2,500 specifically to help these dogs in the rescuer’s care in Kentucky—covering vetting, transport, and supplies. This is on top of our already overwhelming expenses, including the $16,000 hospitalization of our mama dog Lane. Our medical intake is currently closed because we simply cannot take on more dogs until we receive donations.

❤️ Huge thanks to Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association (ACDRA) for helping us secure transport! Their assistance has been invaluable in an area we don’t typically work in.

💰 If every one of our followers donated just $5 a month, the difference would be life-changing. Every dollar counts.

Help share these special babies! Lane’s Miracle Puppies – Pre-Approval for Adoption Now Open! 🐾

Location: New Jersey, can be transported to local states

Lane fought for her life to keep her puppies safe, and now, at 9 weeks old, these little fighters are thriving! After a rough start, they are growing like weeds—playful, loving, and ready to find their forever homes.

Their incredible foster family has done an amazing job, but now it’s time to shift focus to Lane’s continued recovery. To help make the transition as smooth as possible, we are looking to get all of the puppies pre-approved for adoption so they’ll have loving families waiting when they’re ready to leave the nest.

If you’re interested in adopting one of Lane’s miracle pups, apply now at www.rthrs.com! ❤️

Chance’s Glow-Up! ✨

Check out some new pictures of sweet Chance! A few months in foster care have made such a difference—he’s no longer apprehensive when meeting new people. Now, he gets so excited that he bounces off the back of the couch and zooms around like a total goofball!
He’s just so happy!

Meet Chance:
This 1 ½-year-old hound mix has been through a lot. Abandoned due to an abusive situation, he ended up on a shelter’s euthanasia list simply because they ran out of space.

But despite everything, Chance is the happiest, most loving dog you’ll ever meet!

✅ Great with dogs & non-reactive to cats
✅ Active, playful, and sweet
✅ Always smiling and full of love
✅ The perfect size at 46 pounds

Chance has been thriving in foster, but what he really needs is a forever home where he can continue to grow, play, and be cherished.

🐾 Meet Gibson: The Smart, Sweet, Smiley, & Snuggly Pittie Searching for His Forever Home! ❤️

Location: Alabama, available w/transport to many NorthEast States

Gibson’s journey hasn’t been easy, but you’d never know it from his happy, loving personality. This friendly, lovable pittie was found running down a highway in Alabama, picked up by animal control, and sadly, no one came to reclaim him. Based on his manners and training, it’s clear he once had a home—how anyone could let him go is beyond us. 💔

At just 2 years old and 54 lbs, Gibson is:
🐶 Housebroken & well-behaved
👦 Amazing with children & other dogs
🏡 The perfect family companion
🐾 Best Friend with the big brown eyes 👁

Despite his gentle nature, Gibson has endured more than his fair share of hardships. His ears were crudely cropped, but thankfully, they don’t cause him any pain. He also suffered a past leg injury that healed on its own—it doesn’t require treatment and doesn’t slow him down one bit, but it’s a reminder of all he’s been through.

Gibson is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, which Road to Home Rescue is fully covering. He’s doing amazingly well and will make a full recovery.

Although Gibson’s past has been rough, he is anything but broken. He is a resilient, affectionate, and happy pup who is ready to love and be loved forever. Right now, he’s thriving in his foster home, but what he really wants is a family to call his own.

And if you cannot adopt, and want to foster him that would be incredible as well because opening up one foster allows us to save another life❗️

Could you be the one to give Gibson the love he deserves? If so, please apply today at www.rthrs.com under the Applications section.

We promise—you won’t be disappointed. Gibson is truly one of a kind. ❤️🐾

🐾 Why Is No One Scooping Up Leo? We Can’t Believe He’s Still Waiting! 💔

Location: South Carolina, available w/transport to many NorthEast states

Meet Leo, the breathtaking Staffy/Lab/Weimaraner mix with stunning eyes and an even bigger heart. At just over a year old and 40 lbs, he’s the perfect mix of everything you’d want in a dog—yet, somehow, he’s still waiting for his forever home. And honestly, we can’t figure out why!

Leo’s journey began in South Carolina, where an independent rescuer found him and became his foster. When Road to Home Rescue was asked to help, we couldn’t say no to this incredible boy.
Leo is:

🐶 Dog-friendly and loves playing with other pups
🐱 Okay with cats (though he enjoys playfully antagonizing them!)
👦 Amazing with kids—he’s currently living with young children and adores them
❤️ Playful, affectionate, and full of love

And if that’s not enough, he’s also fully crate, potty, and leash trained! What more could anyone ask for?

Leo is the total package, yet he’s still waiting and wondering when his forever family will come. Let’s not make him wait any longer.

If you’re ready to bring home the perfect companion, apply today at www.rthrs.com under the Applications section. Let’s make Leo’s dream of a forever home come true! 🏡❤️🐾

URGENT UPDATE: LANE'S FIGHT CONTINUES. Donations Needed!🚨

Today, thanks to the warmer weather, Lane was finally able to enjoy some time outside—and it's uplifting to see her breathe fresh air on her own! Against all odds, after 7 grueling days in the hospital and in the oxygen tank, we never gave up on her—and now she's home. Her first follow-up with the cardiologist is scheduled for tomorrow.

While Lane’s progress is inspiring, her battle with heartworm is far from over, and she has a long road ahead. Her foster mom has been absolutely amazing, even as she faces the challenge of keeping Lane calm and sedentary in a busy home with puppies and other dogs.

Please note: Lane’s hospital stay cost us $15,769, and so far we’ve only raised $2,000 toward her care. Our medical intake remains closed until we secure enough funds to cover her treatment and support other urgent cases within our rescue.

Every donation makes a difference. Please consider donating today to help Lane continue her fight for recovery.

🐾 Dewey Doesn’t Know He’s Different—He Just Knows He’s Waiting 💔

Location: Alabama, available w/transport to many NorthEast states

Many people fear being different, but Dewey doesn’t. In fact, he doesn’t even know he’s different. He may be a tripod, but to him, he’s just like every other happy, playful pup—normal in every way possible.

At just 1 ½ years old and 46 lbs, Dewey has been through so much. After suffering an injury that led to the loss of his leg, he never lost his spirit. He remains a sweet, loving, and joyful boy who adores:

🐶 Dogs, cats, and all people—he’s friendly with everyone!
🏡 Being housebroken & crate trained—he’s a perfect house guest.
🎾 Playing ball—one of his absolute favorite things!
🚀 Jumping like a champ—even on three legs!

Yet, despite all of this, Dewey is still waiting… and we can’t understand why. 💔 He doesn’t feel different, but maybe the world sees him that way. We hope someone out there will see Dewey for what he truly is—perfect.

Dewey would make an amazing family dog and deserves a home where he will be loved unconditionally. If you’re ready to give this special boy the forever home he’s been waiting for, please apply today at www.rthrs.com under the Applications section.

Dewey may have three legs, but he has a heart bigger than most. ❤️🐾

💔 Coco Waits… But No One Comes 🐾

Location: Texas, available w/transport to many NorthEast states

Earlier we posted Coco's sibling Lyla, and now little Coco doesn’t understand why she’s still waiting as well. Why has no one chosen her. Why every day, she watches her siblings go to their forever homes, hoping her turn will come—but it never does. 💔
At just 12 weeks old, Coco’s life almost ended before it even began.

Found as a stray in Texas, she and her littermates wouldn’t have survived if not for the kindness of a rescuer who stepped in to save them. Her siblings have been adopted, but Coco is still waiting—wondering if anyone will ever want her.

She’s sweet, playful, and full of love, a terrier mix who will likely grow to be around 40-45 lbs. She adores everyone and everything, yet somehow, she keeps being overlooked.

Coco doesn’t need much—just a family to love her, a home to call her own, and someone to show her that she matters. 🏡❤️

Will you be the one to end her wait? If you can open your heart to Coco, please apply today at www.rthrs.com under the Applications section.

Don’t let Coco spend another day wondering why she’s not enough. 💔🐶
