Lucy is a stunning 6-7-year-old, 60-lb Labrador Retriever with a heart full of love, despite a lifetime of neglect and heartbreak. Now safe in a foster home, she’s ready to experience the love and happiness she’s always deserved.

💔 Lucy’s Heartbreaking Journey:
After losing her original owner, Lucy was left in the care of a 92-year-old mother and spent her life alone in a backyard.
When her caregiver moved into a facility, Lucy’s life was in danger—her family planned to euthanize her simply because she was pregnant.
Luckily, a compassionate vet connected with our rescue partner intervened, saving Lucy’s life. Though her pregnancy wasn’t viable, Lucy has finally found safety.

Willie’s Holiday Wish: A Forever Home After Over a Year of Waiting 🎄🐾

This holiday season, let’s make Willie’s dream come true! After waiting over a year for a family of his own, this sweet 3-year-old deserves to wake up in a loving home.

Originally rescued by North Shore Animal League, Willie was taken in by Road to Home Rescue Support to keep him safe from a Long Island shelter. He’s currently being fostered at a pet resort, but they can no longer keep him—Willie urgently needs a new place to call home before the new year.

Willie is a playful, ball-loving pup who gets along well with other dogs. His ideal home would be with adults only, either as the only pet or with one other easygoing dog. He’s affectionate, gentle with treats, and ready to shower his family with love and kisses. ❤️

Willie’s Comfort with Handling:
Once Willie knows and trusts you, he’s comfortable with affection, including back scratches, butt rubs, and belly rubs. He just needs a little time to feel secure in a new environment.

🐾 Meet Buster Brown: A Resilient Senior Chihuahua Looking for Love 🐾

Sweet Buster Brown has had a rough road, but his spirit remains unbreakable. This 9-year-old, 11lb little guy was found emaciated and hairless by an independent rescuer in South Carolina. With love and care, he’s been nursed back to health—his hair has grown back, he’s gained weight, and he’s ready for his forever home!

💙 Buster’s Journey:

Health Notes: Buster has an irregular heartbeat and will need to stay on heart medication for life—but don’t worry, the meds are affordable.
He also has a fatty cyst on his stomach, but the vet assures us it’s harmless and doesn’t affect him at all.
He’s visually impaired but don’t be fooled—Buster gets around just fine and still has that spunky Chihuahua spirit!

✨ Senior Giro is Safe with Road to Home Rescue Support! ✨
Giro has been doing amazing since coming into our care! He is playful, sweet, loves his walks, enjoys the snow, and he is now heartworm negative!

Huge thanks to Jessica, who helped get Giro off transport and took great care of him until he could safely reach his foster. And, of course, to his current foster, Maureen, for opening her heart and home to this resilient boy.

Giro’s journey is a testament to resilience. This senior boy arrived at a Texas shelter with a stab wound, an old jaw injury, and heartworm disease. Immediately placed on the euthanasia list, his future seemed bleak—until a compassionate person stepped up to save him.

After months in an outdoor kennel in North Carolina, Giro is now heading to his foster home in Upstate New York, where he’ll never face the cold or live outdoors again.

Giro spent a few days at the veterinary office of one of our wonderful volunteers, where he received a full workup, including comprehensive blood tests. The vet determined that while his crooked teeth are well-rooted and pain-free, his snaggletooth only adds to his charm!

Fosters are lifelines for rescue. Without them, dogs like Giro—senior dogs with medical needs—wouldn’t have a chance.

ORIGINAL POST: While Buddy is now safe with us at Road to Home Rescue Support, his journey isn’t over yet. A wonderful foster stepped up for him, but their large dog wasn’t accepting of Buddy. Thankfully, our friends at Willow Pet Hotel are graciously caring for him temporarily as we search for a more permanent foster or adopter.

Everyone who meets Buddy is struck by his sweetness and playful nature. He loves people, gets along well with other dogs, and even handled his first bath like a champ!

Buddy’s story is one of resilience. At just 2 years old and 55 pounds, he was found as a stray in a Texas RV park alongside a pregnant female. Despite facing attacks from street dogs, Buddy remained gentle and loving. His companion has found safety, but Buddy still longs for a forever home.

Initially turned away by another rescue, Buddy’s future became uncertain—but we’re determined to make sure he never has to return to a life of fear. Buddy is now up for adoption or foster and ready to fill someone’s life with love and joy.

Happy Tail for Walker! ❤️

This incredible boy has found his forever home with Karl, Diane, their four kitty siblings, and their horses! 💞 Walker has been home for less than a week and is already settling in beautifully. He’s especially bonded with Karl and loves hanging out with him, especially while cooking dinner.

Walker’s new life is nothing short of a dream come true. He has acres of land to explore, horses to keep him company, kitty siblings to share his adventures with, and even extended family dogs for playdates and fun. Whether he’s enjoying quiet moments in the kitchen with Karl, relaxing with Diane, or exploring his beautiful new surroundings, Walker is truly surrounded by love and comfort.

We’re so grateful to this amazing family for opening their hearts to Walker. He’s found a home where he’ll be cherished, spoiled, and surrounded by love for years to come.🏡

Thanks to their love and care, Amelia is thriving. She’s feeling great after recovering from her extensive orthopedic surgery, and her youthful energy is shining through—making it quite the challenge to keep this spirited pup calm during her treatment!
