This sweet senior boy had been roaming around Owego Turnpike, Waymart, PA (Wayne County) for atleast 4 days. He wouldn't let anyone near him, and he was traveling on dangerous roads.
HH Pike County Team, Stacy & Hailey, were contacted to help. They went out today, and within a few hours, spotted him standing in the middle of Owego Turnpike. They immediately went into action, and got him to go up a driveway he had visited multiple times.
Hailey, slip lead and hot dogs in hand, was able to calmly lure him to her and get the slip lead on him!
After speaking with the Dog Warden, it was agreed he should go into a rescue, as Dessin was full, and being a senior, he wouldn't do well in a shelter anyway.

LILYโS STORY
Lily went missing on June 23rd when she was left outside by herself. At first she had been seen numerous times, but she was traveling approximately a 5 mile radius from home. Then, sightings all but stopped. There were a few, but some of those calls were coming in to Hankโs owner (missing bulldog). Cameras and feeding stations had been set up and moved multiple times, but Lily never showed up on any of them.
After 2 sightings in the same place (5 weeks after she went missing and a week apart), trap and cameras were set in that spot. After another week, Lily finally showed upโฆ.. but we had the trap tied open because of the family of 5 raccoons, possums, skunks and cats that continuously were setting off the trap. After she showed up and got food, we knew it would only be a matter of time before she came back.
In keeping with the circle she was traveling, she didnโt return for another week! Again, after 3 nights of letting wildlife out, we tied the trap open. Wednesday night, she came, she ate and she left. This time we prayed she would come back the next night, as she was looking like she wouldnโt make another week. Thursday evening, we refreshed the trap, and sat down the road just waiting. By 10PM she showed up, and walked right in the trap, not even flinching when that door shut.
We immediately loaded her up in my vehicle, in the trap and drove her to Barton Heights Emergency Vet. While we were waiting for them to take her in, we sat with her and reassured her she was going to be ok. When we took her in, we weighed herโฆโฆ she was 48 POUNDS! She had lost more than half her body weight in the past 7 weeks! Besided being emaciated and pulling a few ticks, she actually looked great. They did bloodwork and even the vet was surprised how good everything looked.
They started her on fluids and antibiotics, and but most important was getting her on a very strict feeding schedule. Emaciated dogs CANNOT just eat, they need to start very slowly, very small calculated amounts numerous times a day, increasing over time until back on a normal feeding schedule for their optimal weight. By Saturday, Lily was in good spirits, had gained a pound, and was ready to go home!
Her original owner passed away suddenly, and his sister Jenny was desperate to take Lily home with her. There was a lot of drama surrounding Lily with different family members, but in the end, Jenny was given the ok to take her home and keep her! Saturday night, I met Jenny at Barton Heights, and after instructions from the vet, Lily was on her way to her new home where she is doing great!!

โคโคLIL BIT IN NAZARETH HAS BEEN TRAPPED!โคโค Lil Bit went missing from her foster home shortly after arriving on transport. I was contacted immediately by Britney from Brindle Buddies & Friends and the foster to help. I was out of town, but returning last night and around 11pm, got the sighting I needed to put an end to her gallivanting all over town. Once I got her eating, I quickly set trap and waited. She wasn't very hungry after being fed burgers and chicken throughout the day by others trying to catch her. So she laid by the trap protecting her breakfast from fox all night. This morning at 6:10, she was ready to eat and went right in! ๐พ WELCOME BACK LIL BIT!! ๐พ ***(Some morning humor)*** Lil Bit was an owner surrender in Georgia. The reason she was surrendered was because she wouldn't hunt......ironically, as she laid by the trap all night, she had no problem running down the fox that kept trying to get "her" food! ๐

Jackson was already 2 miles away in unfamiliar territory. Wednesday morning I headed up to Big Bass and met his devastated family. There had been a sighting that morning and after speaking with a few neighbors, he had been in that area since Tuesday. I immediately got to work. Grilling, baiting the area, setting trap and camera. At 5:00 this morning, Jackson showed up, and after circling the trap for a bit, decided he really needed to eat and went in the trap!
