Waipa Animal Control We investigate calls about dog/stock control issues, and we help reunite lost dogs with their owners. We also rehome dogs. Lost your dog?

Waipa District Council’s animal control team respond to calls about dog and stock control issues, and they manage two dog pounds (Te Awamutu and Cambridge) to keep lost dogs safe and cared for until they can be reunited with their owners. Our day team is available 8am to 5pm week days, and we have contractors managing urgent after-hours issues. You can call 0800 WAIPADC (0800924723) 24/7. Every week day we update our list of dogs currently in the pound: www.waipadc.govt.nz/LostDogs

Introducing the beautiful lovely "Luna" 💕
We think Luna is a Huntaway x Foxy and about 5 months old. She will grow to medium size.
Luna came into the pound scared of her own shadow, but with a bit of love and kindness she has come out of her shell to show us she has a beautiful kind personality.
She is quiet, and so gentle.
It seems Luna hasn't been exposed to anything in her little life, so anything new she comes across can be a bit scary, but she is so brave to go and take a look or a sniff of it.
Luna will need a home with lots of patience and kindness. You will be rewarded with a loyal and gentle friend for life.
She is fine with cats, and other dogs with gentle introductions (as she can find them a bit scary to start with, but once she has met them, she will be best friends with them).
A home with another well rounded gentle kind dog would be great, for her to learn all about being a dog in a loving home.

Seeing is believing! Yes, this cutie is up for adoption🥰
Meet "Beau" our beautiful Husky cross shepherd is approximately 4 months old. Beau is initially a shy boy but has come out of his shell so much with us and becoming very confident, however when he meets new people he takes some time making sure that he is in fact safe with them. Beau is such a happy boy and gets along great with his pound mates. He would love a doggy friend however not essential. We are unsure how he gets on with cats and stock but with good introduction we sure it will work as he is still a baby and with training he will just bloom in his new home. Beau will need a home with very secure fencing as he will grow into a medium to large dog.

If you think you can provide everything this gorgeous boy deserve, please apply to adopt, visit waipadc.govt.nz/dogadoption

Archie has a new home 💕

Meet our new kid on the block..."Archie"😍
Archie is a 12-week-old mix breed which will probably grow into a medium size dog.
Meaning of Archie is "Truly brave" which we feel this wee boy was escaping from his home and came into our care for much needed love and attention. Archie is a very friendly wee chap that wants to make friends with every dog, even his big pound mates. He loves a good play and keeps the older dogs really busy. He also loves just to receive love and cuddles and lie in your arms. Archie would love his own family where he can grow up to be their best friend and enjoy adventures and make happy memories for years to come. Archie will need a home with secure fencing to keep him safe for the days ahead when he grows up. He would love a family that will take him on daily walks and provide training and guidance to him so he can be the best friend to his family and friends.

If you'd like to know more about Archie then send us a message or apply to adopt, visit - waipadc.govt.nz/dogadoption

Scout has a new home 💕

Introducing Scout🐶🐾
This adorable boy is around 1 year old, Collie cross medium in size. Scout was a bit shy initially when he came into our care but as soon as he gets to know you, he warms up for some love and cuddles. He is a very quiet boy who doesn't join in with his pound mates to see who can bark the most😆 He gets on well with his pound mates. He loves a good run in the paddock and have a good roll on the grass. Scout would suit a family who will take him for daily walks to get good exercise and a cosy warm bed inside. We don't know how Scout is with cats. Scout will need a home with secure fencing to keep him safe.

If you think you can provide Scout with what he needs and deserve please message us for more information or to apply to adopt, visit- waipadc.govt.nz/dogadoption
