Rocky is an older gent but there is still a lot of life and fun in those old bones. He loves company, and adores playing with water. He is a little shy at first and will need a patient and kind owner with a secure property so that he is safely contained. Can anyone offer Rocky a home with daily companionship, quality food, a soft bed, and a daily swim at the beach :) Please send us a message with some info about the kind of home you could provide Rocky. He will need to be vaccinated and desexed prior to adoption.
Our mumma dog is still holding on, but puppies must be due very soon. We would love to move her to a safe foster home before they arrive. We have had offers already from some very kind people, but we require a home without any other dogs, and without young children under 12 years.
This girl seems to be very placid, but we don't know how protective she will become once the puppies arrive, especially as she will have the additional stress of being in a strange place.
If you have a fully fenced property (dog proof), don't have any other dogs or cats (because we don't know her tendencies with other animals just yet), no young children, and you have experience with caring for dogs, please send us a message with a contact phone number ASAP if you can help.
Local dog rescue Pound Hounds Rescue will take her into their care if we can find a suitable foster home. They will cover all her costs and provide food and bedding etc. You will just need to provide the care and love until the puppies are weaned and we can find her a new home.
Puppies are a lot of work, so anyone offering will need to be prepared. But also very rewarding and fun :)
See how lovely and quiet Florence is? She wants to move away from her noisy neighbours ... ideally into your home and garden.
She's a middle aged sweetheart, but will be keen for daily leashed walks. She's about 27-30 kgs, she was thin when she arrived, but now needs a bit more exercise after enjoying the pound food a little too much.
Honestly, such a special girl. You won't regret meeting her.
Sally (a council staff member who also helps as a volunteer rehoming our pooches) popped in to see Polly. Yes she jumps, but she is also very trainable.
This video was one minute after first asking her for a "sit" (probably for the first time in her life). We believe with consistent training and lots of good treats, she will learn (really fast) that she only gets good things when her paws on the ground.
She's super excited to have a visitor but is not like this all the time. It's hard for dogs in the pound to be on their best behaviour when they get a visitor!
Because she's a chunky monkey and still growing we are looking for a child free home (or kids over 13). She loves all people but could accidentally bowl small humans over in her desire to play or cuddle.
Someone who is keen on training and understands how to teach good manners in a fun way, please, please, pick Polly. She would do so well out of the pound and in a real home.
