We investigate calls about dog/stock control issues, and we help reunite lost dogs with their owners. You can call 0800 WAIPADC (0800924723) 24/7. Lost your dog?

Waipa District Council’s animal control team respond to calls about dog and stock control issues, and they manage two dog pounds (Te Awamutu and Cambridge) to keep lost dogs safe and cared for until they can be reunited with their owners. Our day team is available 8am to 5pm week days, and we have contractors managing urgent after-hours issues. Hazel has a new home to go too 😁
Meet beautiful Hazel 💕
Hazel is looking for her forever home. She is approx 1-1.5 years old and is a staffy cross.
She would love a family to be a part of.
She has the most sweetest gentle nature and just wants to be a part of your day.
She has been great with all the dogs she has met.
Super cuddly and a real smooch.
She would make a great family dog.
She is small to medium in size. Hazel is doing really well with her training, she now knows sit and down.
A home with a lot of love to give, a cosy bed by the fire would be a dream to her.
Secure fencing is a must, and a home where she isn't left alone for long periods.

Introducing Annie ❤

Annie's 9-12 months old, medium in size and a mixbreed.

Annie would thrive in an active household where she can be part of all the action.
She's the type of girl who's always up for a game of fetch, a long walk, or an afternoon zoomie session in the backyard.

She's affectionate and loves attention, often seeking out cuddles or playtime with her humans.
Toys are her absolute favourite- if it squeaks or bounces, Annie's all about it.
This clever girl is already showing how smart and eager to learn she is.
She's picking up her training quickly and will thrive with ongoing guidance and positive reinforcement.

Annie is good with other dogs, but can be a bit too playful for some. So a dog that can match her energy would be ideal.
She will need a home with lots of space to run and explore, secure fencing, and where she won't be left on her own for long periods.

This lovely boy has been impounded today, from the Kakaramea Road area. Does anyone know him? He was wearing a brown coat.

***Update These two dogs have been found!!!***
But they aren't the two dogs that are currently running around together that have been sighted in Pirongia area, Te Awamutu area, and now Ohaupo area.
They have just been sighted in Jary Road/Mill Road area in Ohaupo. If anyone sees them, can you please take a photo and send it through to us.
LOST DOGS
Please comment on here if you do see them with a time and location. A photo would be amazing too.
Please do not try to catch them etc as that might drive them away more.
We would very much love to get these two dogs home.

Introducing Rocky 💙

This handsome guy is 7 years old, a mixbreed, and medium to large in size.

Rocky's social with other dogs but has spent his life as a solo dog, he's lived with cats and kids and is well mannered with both.
He's a smart boy who knows commands and loves food, he's affectionate and still loves chasing after balls and playing with his toys.

We are hoping to find Rocky a home where he can have a warm, dry bed inside at night, with a family that can give him the love and time he deserves, and somewhere with secure fencing to keep our old boy safe.
