We’re officially BACK — and starting strong with our first Havi Tip Monday! 🐾

Here’s something a lot of dog parents don’t know (but really should):
🧴 Never brush a dry Havanese coat!
Always lightly mist the coat with a dog-safe conditioning spray first.

Why?
Brushing a dry coat can lead to breakage, split ends, and painful tangles. A light spritz helps reduce static, soften the hair, and protect your pup’s beautiful coat. Plus — it makes grooming way more comfortable (and faster).

Did you know? Havanese dogs are prone to tear staining due to their expressive eyes and fine facial fur. While many think it’s just aesthetic, excessive tear staining can sometimes indicate allergies, blocked tear ducts, or even diet sensitivities. A few things that help:

✔️ Filtered Water – Tap water with high mineral content can contribute to staining.
✔️ Regular Face Wiping – Use a soft, damp cloth or pet-safe wipes daily to keep their faces clean.
✔️ Balanced Diet – Some dogs react to certain ingredients in food, so a high-quality diet free from fillers can make a difference.
✔️ Vet Check – If the staining suddenly worsens, it’s worth checking for eye infections or blocked tear ducts.

Havanese Tip: Did you know that many Havanese thrive with a “toy rotation system”? 🧸 These clever little pups are highly intelligent and love variety, so storing some of their toys out of sight and swapping them out every couple of weeks can keep them engaged and prevent boredom. It also helps them form a stronger bond with their favorite toys!

Let’s make 2025 the best year yet for our sweet fur babies! Thank you for being part of our family, and we can’t wait to share more tips, stories, and adorable moments with you. 🌟
