Here I am teaching my 5 month old puppy Jaxon how to play fetch so it’s enjoyable for both dog and human. 1. Ask for desired command (drop it) and wait till they do it. If you go to take the ball and they pull away to play tug, let go immediately to let them know you’re not playing that game. When he drops it, say good boy so that he knows that he did the right thing. 2.Then quickly throw it to send the message that you don’t actually want to keep the ball, you want them to have it. 3. Always reward (good boy) when he brings the ball back to you. Most importantly have patience.
