Meet Nugget ! Things keep falling through for this adorable and loving little Pit mix. Hoping someone out there can help turn her luck around! 🤞🤞 She is barely 40lbs, exuberant, friendly to all humans, snuggly, spayed, and current on vaccines. She needs leash training and some patience, as she is excitable and will jump all over people to say hello, but what a SWEET temperament she has! Anyone willing to foster this gal? Meet Bruce! He’s a 1 year old Labradoodle, 39 pounds, great with other dogs, kids, and super goofy and playful! He’s looking for a forever home with a family where he will get tons of attention and activity! He is getting neutered today and we are accepting applications for this sweet guy! Everyone please send positive vibes out for Hammy!
We drove our big sweet boy to the wonderful UPenn New Bolten Center last night so he would be there early for his surgical evaluation. He was SUCH a good boy for the 2 1/2 hr drive and going in/out of the trailer. ❤️🐷❤️ He has a compromised toe joint in his left foot that is very painful, so he will likely be having that toe removed… but once he’s recovered, no more pain! 👏🎉. This is not an uncommon occurrence in these huge piggies who’s origins were to be bred for food- their joints can’t always sustain their body weight when they are “allowed” to live into adulthood. Our sweet boy deserves to be pain free. Updates to come! Skymeadow Farm Animal Sanctuary

What a difference a few months of care makes! MEET TRISTAN! We were alerted through a friend of a friend that there was a dog basically being starved in an apartment in Brooklyn due to a complicated and neglectful living situation. Once we confirmed we could get access and the dog would be willingly surrendered, we went and picked him up. He was a bit shut down and extremely thin… but once he was consistent getting fed 3x a day and realized he was safe, he is now one of the most handsome, goofy, loving dogs we’ve ever rescued! He’s just stunning! He’s half Mastiff/half Pit, about 75 lbs, fully vetted, healthy, house-trained, crate-trained, and sooooo sweet. He is now available for adoption- a home with big dog experience, and the understanding that he loves and needs his exercise and playtime! A fully fenced yard would ideal, as he LOVES to run! 🏃‍♀️ 🐕 PM to meet him!

MEET RAMONE! This incredibly sweet orange tabby boy showed up at the farm out of nowhere, clearly looking for a safe place to rest and eat. He has an injured back leg, so we took him to the vet to evaluate. Turns out he has a completely luxated right knee joint and is also FIV positive. Orthopedic surgery or amputation surgery are not without significant risks considering his FIV status, so instead, pain management meds and lots of love is what the Dr. ordered. 😉🥰. His knee will start to heal (improperly, but it will heal), he will develop some arthritis, but it beats putting his little body through a major surgery and uncertain recovery. This guy is such a sweetheart! He would absolutely love to be a pampered indoor companion for someone. Vet thinks he’s around 4 years old, he’s neutered, loving, cuddly, and uses the litter box like a gentleman. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him… is his person out there?? PLEASE SHARE and let’s get this guy a forever home!

Another incredibly happy ending (and beginning!) for our dear girl Khaleesi! We feel so lucky and fortunate to have .elly as part of our farm family- not only did she find us, , as the new boarding home for her horses, & , but she was ready to open her heart to a dog… and Khaleesi was THE ONE! We had been looking for the right person for Khaleesi for a looong time… The best things often come to those who wait! AND we get to see her all the time! All good things. ❤️🐶🐴

It’s times like this that help restore and revive our faith in doing rescue, the process, and the beauty of unconditional love that can exist between dogs and humans. Remember just about a year ago, late one night we found an emaciated stray dog, totally shut down, on the road in the freezing rain? We called him Mr. Bones. It took many many months to get him healthy, and many of our supporters donated on his behalf (thank you again!), and sure enough, his ball-obsessed, high-energy, quirky, intense, and sometimes neurotic true colors bloomed! 😆 The hard part has been finding just the right person/home to come along, see passed his past, understand his training needs, and just love him like we do. Well, much to all of our great happiness, that person found him on our website, loved him at first meet, applied, and…… he is off to foster-to-adopt and likely his forever home! He’s doing terrific so far, enjoying his big fenced yard, playing with his doggie brother, learning how to take treats gently, couch time, and lots of kisses on demand! Happy tails Mr Bones! ❤️👍🐶🥰
