We are SOOO thankful for all the work Pampered Ponies Therapies has done for our horses. Love that Kaylie is always working so hard to learn more. We trust the best with our babies!!
Pampered Ponies Therapies
For the love of your animals, please make sure who you’re hiring for any body work is licensed, certified, and insured.
You wouldn’t take your horse/dog to someone who shadowed a vet a few times and now claims to be a Veterinarian, would you? It’s the same with your body worker.
Ask questions about their credentials.
Ask them where they went to school and did their training.
Ask them if they have insurance, God forbid something happened while they work on your animal.
Just because someone can afford a tool/device, doesn't mean they know how to properly use it.
Two years ago, I proudly completed my Equine Rehabilitation Certification.
Through the program, I learned
-a team approach to equine rehabilitation (It take a team to properly rehab a horse. Bodyworker, Vet, farrier, Chiro, ect.)
-which conditions are appropriate for physical therapy (so therapies can make specific injuries or conditions worse)
-which conditions are appropriate for physical therapy and neurologic conditions (some therapies can make specific injuries or conditions worse)
-Therapeutic modalities and mechanisms of action (like the water treadmill, vibration therapy, shockwave therapy, ect.)
-the body's response to injury and healing of tendons and ligaments
-reasonable time frames for treatment, when to begin and frequency
-Methods of referral and optimal communication between professionals
The program counted as continued education for my Veterinary Technician license. It was a great certification to add on top of my Equine massage certification and MagnaWave PEMF certification. I strive to continue to learn and expand my knowledge to provide the best possible care to my clients.
