Today one of the most supportive women I’ve had the honor of working for was laid to rest. Diane was the first non-family member to push me to follow my dreams and build Ugly Mutt, even though that meant I would be leaving her company. She was a light when everything around was dark. Because I was running with my dream, and throw in the covid years, I hadn’t seen her for a few years, but that didn’t diminish the impact her support had on me. I don’t think Diane ever knew how important she was to me or the many other people whose lives she touched. You never know how much your kindness and support may mean to someone else, so be like Diane, shine bright and be kind.

That being said, I may be a little behind for a bit while I grieve the loss of such a great supporter and champion.

Life update! And long post warning!

I am not one to mix my personal goings on with my business, but there may be some noticeable changes in the future of Ugly Mutt.

Many of you know that I had returned to school for Health Information Technology (medical coding) the last few years. This was for a dependable paycheck, that will allow me to continue to work at home and travel while working, health insurance and a backup plan for when my hands can’t do this anymore (not there yet, so don’t worry!).

Well, I graduated earlier this month, whew. The last 3 years have stretched me incredibly thin, with schoolwork and Ugly Mutt work encompassing every waking hour of nearly every single day. Leaving very little time for self care.

So, this week I am taking a much needed vacation! I will not be manufacturing any products, but will be doing some noticeable updates to my website. That means, look for NEW COLORS of paracord, and NEW LENGTHS AND THICKNESS of some leashes!! When I return home I will also be adding new toys as well as show collars and leads (photos need to be taken still). I’ve heard all your requests and now have the chance to make them happen.

This all being said, the travel schedule of Ugly Mutt will eventually become less, in hopes that I can get back to my passion of personal travel. Ugly Mutt has taken me all over this country, but I never have enough time to take in the scenery, this will change.

So, don’t worry, all your handmade and custom products will still be available on the website.

And if anyone out there knows of a great medical coding gig, let me know!
