David has found his last stop loved!
Would you like to know what we mean when we say “last stop loved”? Just watch this short video of our newest senior rescue named David.
We rescued a senior poodle named David on Friday from Liberty County Animal Services. Abandoned at a church and tied to a bench, his life had turned around for the worse until Friday at 4:30 when he became a VIP member of GRRR’s Last Stop Loved Senior Dog Program. He has fallen in love with his new foster dad and this video is testimony to the power of rescue. Last stop loved is the only thing David will know from this moment forward. We can guarantee it.

Lucky and Theodore
If you thought paraplegic dogs can’t have fun, watch this video with our Lucky a paraplegic with three legs and Theodore, also a paraplegic enjoying each other’s company. Our work with special needs dogs includes working with paraplegic dogs who lost their ability to use two of their legs due to trauma or having been attacked by a larger dog. While learning to express their bladders adds a bit more to your life, the joy and inspiration they bring to our lives is incredible.

Pearl and Piglet
UPDATE - 9/20/21
There are so few of us housing more animals than you could imagine and all we need is one kind person to help with this situation. Once again, (912) 695-2415
Original post:
We took a leap of faith yesterday in regards to the hope that someone in our community can help us out. In this video are Pearl a senior small blind terrier and Emily “Piglet” a three year old Chihuahua mix. They are a bonded pair that were at abandoned at Glynn County Animal Control. Due to space limitations, Pearl was marked for euthanasia. We stepped in yesterday and pulled them out and with the kindness of someone in Glynn County found a temporary home in Glynn County for this weekend. We need to bring them to Savannah and find a foster home for them to land in and address some medical concerns with Pearl. All of our foster homes are bursting at the seams with fosters and we truly need someone to open their heart and home in the Savannah area. Time is of the essence as this needs to happen within 48 hours. Early reports from the temporary home state that they are very sweet little girls and appear to be house trained. Emojis and shares are always helpful but if this could be a situation where you just don’t hit a like and continue scrolling through your newsfeed we could really make two little dogs very happy. Reach out to Perry if you are able to assist.

As with all our rescues, a fenced yard is important or a safe place to take them out. Thank you for following GRRR and possibly being part of a dog’s life. #specialpeopleforspecialdogs

Kelly’s new smile!
Yesterday Kelly spent the day at Savannah Veterinary Medical Center and after years of neglect had a complete dental with Dr. Mulvey. Kelly came to us through CCAS as an abandoned and neglected blind senior and had significant dental disease and infection. The good news? Kelly had thirteen (13) teeth pulled and in less than 24 hours is celebrating his new healthy mouth and freedom from daily pain. I just took this video just now and honestly it’s hard to believe he had surgery yesterday! #GRRRSavesDogs

Dental excitement!
Two weeks ago we rescued a senior named Kelly from Chatham County Animal Services. Blind and a a bit deaf, we have been readying him for his big day today at Dr. Mulvey’s for a complete dental. With a mouth full of rotted teeth we know he is going to feel like a whole new dog in just a few days. Ensure you listen to his happiness knowing today is the day!
We will be at PetSmart on Victory Drive for another hour today so stop by and say hello! #GRRRSavesDogs
This is what a happy senior foster dog looks like. Meet Sweetie, a young twelve year old. Our little Chewie had a blast today at @the_hipster_hound. He’d be great in a home with another playful dog!
Woody aka Oreo
Woody, formerly known as Oreo, is doing so well in his new home! He used to jump around like crazy, but with a little training and lots of love, he plays so nicely!
Congratulations to Skip on finding his forever home! He made his new older brother feel young again!
