Meet our new addition, Mango, a 6-month old male GSD/Malinois mix puppy. He and his littermates were surrendered to our local Humane Society, as they could no longer care for them. As Mango was not thriving in the shelter environment, we were contacted and asked to help. Of course, we could not turn our backs on this well deserving pup, and agreed to bring him into our program. His foster mom was able to work through a couple of undesirable behavioral issues quickly, and he is now on track to becoming a wonderful companion to some lucky family. Question: What is better than a 2x adopter? Answer: A 3x adopter!! When our wonderful friends reached out to our President to advise that they had lost their adored companion, and would be looking for another pup to help heal their hearts, PJ went to work to find a white german shepherd, which was their preference. Of course, temperament would be most important and ensuring that the dog fit their lifestyle. After only a couple of days, a possible fit was found. Our adopters were quite impressed when they met her, that they agreed to foster her. Soon after, they determined she was such a terrific dog, and quickly made the decision to make her a part of their family. As you can see from the pictures, Thalia (now Tali) is thriving in her new home.

Another one of our sweet pups, Denali (now known as Enzo) has found his way into the hearts of his mom, dad, and fur bro!! He is living his best life here in the Santa Cruz mountains with lots of room to roam, although he is very much becoming a daddy's boy!

Another reason why we do what we do! Our sweet Jasmine entered our care in September 2022 as a pup so terrified she had to be carried to the car. It took lots of time, patience and love for her rehab and to move her into a new phase where we felt it was time to find her forever home. Part of the healing process involved her interactions with other dogs whom she learned from that the world isn't such a scary place and humans can be trusted. While she remained very shy with humans, after more than a year of rehab, she began to show progress and subsequently found a home to call her own and has a fur sister to pal around with. We are confident that she will continue to grow and thrive under the watchful eye of her new mom.

We are very saddened to hear of the passing of actor Kamar de los Reyes on Christmas Eve. Kamar was a friend to our organization after having adopted one of our dogs just at the beginning of the COVID pandemic. He was a genuine, good-hearted human, who will truly be missed. Rest easy Kamar.

Another reason to celebrate this beautiful Christmas Day. Tarot found his forever home with a wonderful family and previous adopters. He has a mom, dad, 2 human siblings and a fur sister, whom he has become really attached to. Wishing all the best in their new adventures.
