Growing up in Southern California in a “split-family”, I had the opportunity to experience the diversity of a conservative, health-conscious vegetarian family on one side, on the other, hearty farm raised meat eaters. They both taught me a lot about food, nutrition, health, and people. I took the best of both worlds and made my own way. I was raised to read labels, use what you have, be honest and
to work (for what you want) in life. The women of my family are strong, resilient, talented and determined. Along with food, flowers, gardening and love, they taught me to believe in myself and never give up on my dreams; to be strong, and that tomorrow is another day. Like many other members of my family, my passion to help others led me into the healthcare field where I have l had the opportunity to embrace my connection with others and get to share love and positive energy through my work in hands on healing and herbology. Since 2007, I have worked directly with an Integrative Medical Doctor, and his patients. In pursuit of continuing education in my commitment to life long learning I have attended herbal classes, conferences and advanced massage and body work classes such as Slow Food Slow Gardening Slow Medicine and Oncology Massage. As an animal lover and a self-proclaimed tree hugger, my love for our planet and all life on it drives me to try to maintain a zero waste policy. One night after working on an herbal remedy for a client, I looked down at a pile of cooked herbs and felt bad about throwing the only slightly used portion away. I wondered if I could use them in something else. That’s when I noticed the dancing Chihuahua at my feet. Sugar, my 10 year old “Thera-pup”, wanted to smell the herbs. I decided to try my hand at baking. So, I researched and ordered ingredients, headed to my local farmers market for some farm fresh eggs, and got to work. Starting with an old cookie press and one baking sheet, Organics by Amiee herbal dog cookies were born. Using only NON-GMO and Organic ingredients, I created a healthy, safe and delicious treat without wheat, gluten, corn, soy or preservatives I know it will help keep Sugar around and healthy for years to come and now I want to share it with your pet! Hugs & Love ~
